Right now, Moshtix is in the process of refunding all of the tickets for the Splendour in the Grass festival, after the unexpected news that the event had been cancelled.  Though we've seen many festivals across the country postpone or cancel their events, we've also lately seen several big concerts, with a massive demand for tickets.   Often, it feels like no matter how quick you are to get onto the website, whether you actually get a ticket seems pretty random. But is it?   What is actually happening in the background when we log in? Who decides who gets a ticket and why and they so goddamn expensive?    On this episode of The Briefing, Bension Siebert speaks with LiSTNR journalist Tessa Randello, to find out why we need to look closer at Australia's ticketing industry. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This House guest mix from SHANTI for our Raising the Vibration series will have you dancing around in whatever location you happen to be listening to it! “I'm a huge lover of music in all its forms and through my time playing and creating I've loved exploring and blending genres, but house music will always be at the centre of my heart. The simplicity of the beats combined with its roots in disco and the uplifting energy of vocal samples is everything I could need and want on the dance floor. To have the opportunity to create a set that represents me for one of my favourite party throwers Thick as Thieves supporting one of my favourite artists Weiss at the iconic Revolver Upstairs is beyond a dream. A true pinch me moment as a young artist. I hope you enjoy listening to this mixed bag of fun. I had a blast creating it.“ SHANTI will be playing at Revolver Upstairs Sunday March 5th alongside WEISS. Tickets available on our Website, Moshtix or at the door. Much beloved Australian Music Festival Splendour in the Grass has been forced to issue a statement to ticket holders, declaring that patrons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a 'responsible adult'. Their statement in full reads: Dear Splendour community, On Friday night all of our underage ticketholders received an email from Moshtix informing them of late developments regarding Splendour's Liquor License. In a nutshell, the message was this… ALL PATRONS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT AT ALL TIMES WHILST AT THE EVENT AND CAMPGROUNDS. This is not Splendour's decision. These new rules have been imposed on us by NSW Police. We were only informed of this late Thursday and we are very unhappy about these major changes being forced on the festival at such a late stage. We understand the impact it will have on many of our patrons. We also don't want you to walk away with a fine. So we want you all to be aware that Police will be present at the event, roaming throughout the crowd checking that underage minors are with a responsible adult. Considerable fines may apply if not compliant. Splendour will also be in breach of our liquor licence, which will have major consequences. More information can be found in our FAQs and our Youth Policy. The ONLY place you can purchase tickets for accompanying responsible adults is via the resale facility, where all monies go to the previous ticket holder. To register as a responsible adult accompanying a minor, please fill out this FORM. Best wishes, Splendour in the Grass Thanks for listening! Be sure to subscribe for more content. In the Music Real E94, I catch up with Undercovers founder, Josh Kiff. Undercovers, is a new podcast by Vibe Machine Media that features interviews with the Artists of some of the most classic and iconic album covers of our time. I first met Josh Kiff when he was working with Moshtix when we were producing the Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival. It was obvious from the start that Josh was what we would call a super music fan. We have this very human need to gather together, connect and celebrate while listening to a live music show – and as a result of lockdown, this is now impossible. So in this time, where lockdown has changed the lives of people who worked in the Events, Hospitality, and music industries around the globe, Josh is helping music fans around the globe to continue to celebrate the music. And I wanted to know, from a super music fan perspective, how lockdown will leverage a shift the culture of the Music Industry. Make sure you check out the Undercovers podcast. The entire series is available to stream now at Vibe Machine Media's official website. https://themusicreal.com.au/2020/07/19/josh-kiff-is-undercover-s-in-lockdown/
