The TLW Time Team duo of Dan Thomas and John Gallagher are back with the first of a three part special looking back on the late, great Gerard Houllier and his time as Liverpool manager. The first part looks at the Frenchman's arrival, the ill fated ‘joint manager' relationship with Roy Evans and GH's first full season in charge when the seeds were sown for what was to come.
What would break first if you stopped answering calls, stopped checking email, and stepped out of the building for 30 days? John Gallagher sits down with Brian Gini, co-CEO of Collins Electric, to unpack a real transformation inside a multi-branch, family-owned electrical contracting business and the personal growth required to make it stick. Brian's path starts in the field and moves through project management, branch leadership, and ownership, and that credibility shapes how he thinks about trust, systems, and the next generation of leaders. We get into the practical catalyst behind the shift: building a sustainable leadership pipeline when “nobody gave us a playbook.” Brian explains why outside expertise mattered, how lean construction tools entered through a prefabrication quality problem, and what it took to move five branches from five different ways of working to a shared enterprise mindset. He's candid about the hardest barrier to continuous improvement: people staying locked into who they've always been, even when the business demands something new. Then we talk about the experiments that prove your culture is real. The Gini Wonka month-off test sends a serious message to employees and customers: we trust you, we've built guardrails, and the company can operate without the owners acting like heroes. Brian also shares a deceptively simple leadership word he keeps in sight every day: “appreciate,” and how that mindset helps stretch new leaders into big roles. We close with a grounded take on AI in construction: keep building the training and curriculum you know you need, and adopt AI only where it truly supports the strategy.
INGESTED UK technical death metal juggernauts - Denigration full-length, released on May 8th through Metal Blade Records.INGESTED Presents “Oaths Betrayed” Lyric Video; Denigration Full-Length Out Today On Metal Blade Records + Chaos & Carnage Tour Underway! The band comments, “‘Oaths Betrayed' takes the language of faith, war, and destiny and turns it against the systems that abuse those ideas. The lyrics are about promises written in blood and enforced with steel; oaths that were supposed to protect but ended up binding people to suffering. It's a world where idols are pissed on, scriptures are burned, and yet people still march ‘through ruins to claim what's mine' because truth is the only thing left worth carrying. It's the sound of realizing that the divine has abandoned you, and deciding you'll carve your own laws into bone. “This song almost didn't make the cut, and now it's one of the tracks we reach for first. Musically, it hits that high-tempo, groove-driven, 2010s-era death metal energy, spiked with breakdowns that feel like the floor cracking open. It's urgent, almost martial at times, with riffs that march more than they sprint. Lyn's lyrical contribution here adds a different edge, more confrontational, more fixated on personal agency in the middle of collapse. ‘Oaths Betrayed' feels like a rallying cry in the second half of the record.”Denigration includes guest appearances by John Gallagher of Dying Fetus on “Watch You Fold,” Damonteal Harris of PeelingFlesh on “Merciless Reflection,” Skyler Conder of Cell on “Dragged Apart,” and Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher on “Dredge The Dark,” further amplifying the record's scope and intensityProduced by Nico Beninato at The Arch Studios in Southport, UK, Denigration captures INGESTED at their sharpest and most forward-thinking. The album's visual identity is equally striking, featuring artwork by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, whose detailed, eerie imagery reflects the record's thematic depth and ferocious tone Denigration is available digitally, on CD, and on vinyl in the following color variants: Monopile Electric Blue Smoke (US)Hot Pink and Purple Smoke (US)Red Marbled (EU – Ltd.500)Purple With Red And White Highlights (EU – Ltd. 300)Clear Turquoise Blue w/ Red + Neonpink Splatter (EU – Ltd. 300)Hot Pink w/ Purple Amoeba (Band UK Exclusive – Ltd. 300) Find orders at metalblade.com/ingested and the INGESTED webpage at ingested.co.uk. Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring early but it was all downhill from there as Chelsea came back to equalise and put a halt to their six game losing streak in front of a very disgruntled Anfield crowd who made their feelings clear with boos at half time, full time and when Arne Slot subbed Rio Ngumoha. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by John Gallagher and Paul Natton to look back on another unsatisfactory afternoon for the Reds.

It's the art of talking with people instead of at them.Slow Down to Speed Up: Why you must bring people with you and give them real opportunities to lead. The Alan Story: A powerful moment involving a broken microphone, 500 people, and a "Youth of the Year" who found his voice—proving that consistent investment changes lives.Time vs. Money: A challenge to those wondering if their presence matters more than their checkbook.Legacy Defined: How faith, family, and a love for others create a foundation that keeps leaders grounded.

You can hit the goal and still feel like something is missing, and that gap is where leadership gets real. John Gallagher sits down with executive coach Mo Salami to unpack why exceptional results often come from not chasing results directly, and how “purpose-driven success” starts with identity, not pressure. We dig into Mo's three-part framework for high-performance leadership: mindset, skill set, and momentum. Instead of treating outcomes like tasks you dread, Mo pushes leaders to ask a tougher question: Who do I need to be to make this result normal? That identity-based approach doesn't just change personal habits; it reshapes team culture, raising the standard from “we should” to “this is who we are.” We also get practical about what derails high achievers most: inaction fueled by imposter syndrome and inconsistent action that collapses after setbacks. We go further into modern leadership challenges, including how AI can support your work as a second brain without replacing your judgment as the leader. Mo also breaks down why consistent 1% gains compound into exponential results over a year and why fulfillment, health, and long-term impact belong in the same conversation as revenue and performance. If you want a clearer leadership mindset, stronger execution, and success on your terms, press play. Subscribe, share this with a leader on your team, and leave a five-star review so more uncommon leaders can find the show.

The Reds moved back into the Champions League qualification positions by putting five past West Ham and in the process showed that maybe they're finally getting the hang of this set-piece lark. Three goals came from corner kicks, and that ultimately proved the difference in what was otherwise an even contest. Chris Smith is joined by John Gallagher and TLW Editor Dave Usher to reflect on this game, to look ahead to the next one and to also answer some questions from you the listeners.

‘Information in the early modern world could move no faster than the bodies that carried it,' John Gallagher wrote recently in the LRB. For a horse and rider, that was just under fifteen kilometres per hour. Yet postal systems, as pioneered by the enterprising Tassis family, were becoming ever more reliable and efficient, at first in northern Italy and then across much of Europe – despite plague, war and the efforts of bandits and spies to intercept the mail. If the post was highly organised, news spread more organically, whether in the form of manuscript newsletters, printed pamphlets or word of mouth, at the local barbershop, from a ballad singer on a street corner, on the Rialto bridge in Venice or in the nave of St Paul's Cathedral in London. On this episode of the LRB podcast, John joins Thomas Jones to discuss how information (and disinformation) circulated in early modern Europe, and whether our predecessors were any better than we are at sifting fake news from fact. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Ian Brown and John Gallagher to look back on a pretty eventful afternoon at Anfield in which Mo Salah got back onto the field, Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch excelled in the middle of the park and Hugo cemented his position as the main man up front.

Five wins from five in the league and we didn't even need a late winner this time. Goals from Gravenberch and Ekitike capped a brilliant first half for the Reds and although the second half failed to live up to those standards, it's another win to keep the 100% start to the season going. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by John Gallagher and Paul Natton to reflect on a mixed afternoon at Anfield but ultimately a satisfying one.

Voice Of GO(r)D is very happy to bring you a conversation with Tamie Sue Stuttle of the advocacy organization Real Women in Trucking, where we discuss many of the usual problems facing truckers, and one in particular that is of import to Lady Truckers.Due to the intransigence of certain of the biggest trucking companies in the country, and their reliance on a wicked and evil training model, a study examining Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment in the industry was recently cancelled. As reported on by John Gallagher at FreightWaves not two weeks ago -The Trump administration has canceled a study aimed at addressing sexual harassment and rape in the trucking industry, according to one of the study's developers.“We all put a lot of time and attention into this, and just got an email yesterday telling us not to do any more work, that we've been cancelled,” Anne Balay, a member of the working group overseeing the project, told FreightWaves.“Everyone knows rape and sexual harassment are incredibly common in this industry, and this was an attempt to do an actual study that would have led to suggestions on how to address it and make the industry safer. But it was canceled not to save money – the money had already been spent – but to prevent the results from getting out to the public, ensuring now nothing gets done to change the industry and make it safer for women.”A screenshot of a notice from the administration states that the decision to terminate the study “is because the government's priorities have shifted and this project no longer meets our needs.”As Tamie and I discuss the cancellation, it appears that it is not the governments needs they are concerned with, but those of the members of the American Trucking Association, whose ‘Team Training' programs would be exposed to the scrutiny they need by this study, and possibly bring this stupid training method, and all of the sexual abuse it leads to for women, into the public eye. And, perhaps, result in it being made illegal - which is the correct action, to our minds.Tamie and I also discuss various other issues relevant to woman behind the wheel, and every other trucker out on the road, including a recent study from the ATA's research arm which suggests that more felons be recruited into trucking. What about those convicted of sexual crimes who would now be a problem for women truckers? You can find Tamie on Twitter - https://x.com/tamiesue2Tamie's own podcast - https://truckinwithtamie.com/The canceled SASH study at FMCSA - https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/research-and-analysis/cmv-driver-sexual-assault-and-sexual-harassment-sashhttps://www.realwomenintrucking.org/Driver Documentary FilmPetition to re-instate the SASH Study -https://www.change.org/p/reinstate-the-fmcsa-study-on-sexual-assault-and-harassment-in-truckingThe disgusting White Paper from ATRI encouraging the recruitment of dangerous ex-cons and Foster Children into trucking -https://truckingresearch.org/2025/07/new-atri-research-highlights-evolving-truck-driver-demographics/Questions, comments, suggestions, corrections and Hate Mail are always welcomed and strongly encouraged - gordilocks@protonmail.com

Ever feel like you're crushing it on paper…but deep down, you're just waiting for someone to call you out? Like no matter how many wins you stack, there's still that whisper… “You're not enough.” “You don't deserve this. “Eventually, they'll find out.” Let's call it what it is — Imposter Syndrome. And its favorite sidekick? Shame. They're silent saboteurs — and they don't care how successful you are. They'll sneak in, steal your peace, and stall your momentum. So if you're tired of looking like a winner on the outside while fighting battles on the inside, and you're ready to silence the imposter voice — don't miss this episode. In this episode, you will hear: The regret-filled leadership moment that became a turning point in John Gallagher's life — and how it sparked his mission to develop Uncommon Leaders A powerful 3-step framework to help you overcome fear, take action, and lead with purpose How shame and Imposter Syndrome silently sabotage even the most successful leaders—and what to do when they show up in your life Why structure creates freedom—and how to build the disciplines that sustain success across your faith, family, fitness, and finances A bold call to forgiveness: not just of others, but of yourself—and how this act unlocks true leadership potential The simple practice of 47 distraction-free minutes a day that can multiply your clarity, focus, and results Key Quotes "Excellence only happens on purpose... If we haven't put the structure and process or disciplines in place, success will fall backward." - John Gallagher "Diluted focus will lead us to diluted results.” - John Gallagher (quoting Rory Vaden) Resources from this Episode Website: https://coachjohngallagher.com/ Podcast: https://coachjohngallagher.com/podcast/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/coachjohngallagher/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachjohngallagher/ Connect with J.R. HerbRally | Herbalism | Plant Medicine | Botany | Wildcrafting
In this very special replay of The Herbalist Hour Episode 50, I sit down with John Gallagher — co-founder of LearningHerbs and a beloved member of the herbal community who recently passed away after a long struggle with depression, anxiety, and insomnia. This episode means the world to me. If you've followed HerbRally for a while, you've probably heard me talk about how much John influenced my herbal journey. His podcast, HerbMentor Radio, was my introduction to the wider herbal world. I devoured every episode — over and over again. Through those interviews, I felt like I knew the herbalists he featured. And John was the thread running through it all — full of curiosity, warmth, humor, and a contagious laugh. Eventually I became an HerbMentor member (still am to this day), and a few years later, John actually became a friend. I'll never forget him visiting the Mountain Rose Herbs marketing department when I worked there — he brought so much joyful energy with him. And at RootStalk, the legendary one-time herbal gathering, I feel like our friendship really took root. It was also there that I learned John wasn't quite as squeaky clean off-mic as he was on his show — turns out he loved to swear, just like me! That only made me love him more. Over the years, I got to know him better through shared time at events, visits to his home in Port Townsend, chats on the phone, and eventually, this very conversation on The Herbalist Hour. Recording this episode felt like a full-circle moment. I finally got to sit down and interview someone who helped shape my path in herbalism — not just as a mentor from afar, but as a real friend. Everyone I know who knew John adored him. He lit up every room. And he gave so much to this community. My heart goes out to Kimberly, their children, his family, and everyone who loved him. John — I love you, buddy. Thank you for being there during some rough times. Thank you for your support of HerbRally. And thank you for helping open up the herbal world to me, and to so many others. You'll be deeply missed. ~Mason Prefer to watch the video version? You can find it on YouTube here | Watch on YouTube P.S.
