Rob encountered Boyd Waters at the 2026 Virginia Fly Fishing and Wine Festival. Boyd's 'flies' were unlike anything else at the event. Rob was astonished by the ingenuity with which deer hair was transformed into striking three-dimensional designs resembling characters from Care Bears, Spider Man, and Falcore. It's essential to check out Boyd's social media before you listen to gain a full appreciation of how he uses the same materials as everyone else, but in a unique way. His flies are for sale and yes, you can fish them if you desire. Boyd has a few unique fly tying tools to share from bobbins to hair stackers. Beyond his skills at the vise, Boyd dedicates his time to Project Healing Waters, Boy Scouts, and The Mayfly Project. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Dan, Daedalus & Courtney Courtney De Graff, from the Anderson Valley International White Wine Festival joins Dan Berger & Daedalus Howell on California Wine Country. She is the executive director of the Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association. The International White Wine Festival is coming this February 14th through 16th. Courtney was on California Wine Country at this same time last year, for the previous annual festival. Courtney De Graff, of the Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association talks to Dan Berger and Daedalus Howell about Anderson Valley White Wine Festival. It is happening on February 14-16, with the 14th being the big tasting day. CWC is brought to you by Deodora Estate Vineyards. Visit Deodora to discover 72 acres in the Petaluma Gap that are producing exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling. Sip the difference! Dan remembers when this was called the Alsatian Festival, but they changed the name to include more wines from other places. Dan Berger will be there this year at a special Riesling table. There will also be Gewürtztraminer, Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Dan likes the festival because white wines are easier to identify by their scent. The 17th Annual Festival This is the seventeenth annual festival. It has had a few different names and rebrandings. There are 64 members in the Association and not all of them produce Alsatian varietals. Dan notices a worldwide evolution in white wine tastes. There are grape varieties showing up today that were not produced in great volumes, because we lacked the technology to make the wine. Anderson Valley is eager to do a white wine festival because white wine is at the forefront of the current evolving trends in wine popularity. The Anderson Valley is an hour north of Healdsburg, on the way to the town of Mendocino. festival is on Hwy 128. Visitors either say overnight or make a day trip. Saturday is the grand tasting from 11 to 3, then on Sunday is winery open houses. They will open their doors for food, wine and entertainment. There are 44 wineries booked this year, the largest contingent ever. They also have wineries from all over the world, including Swiss, German, Italian, French and Mexican wines. It is held at the Booneville Fairgrounds.
Daniel Davis, CEO and President of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, joins JMN to share details about the upcoming Jacksonville Food & Wine Festival at the Artists Walk in Riverside. The event happens March 7. Visit JAXCHAMBER.COM/JFWJ to learn more.
Happy New Year from Disneyland and Walt Disney World The new year started on both coasts. Sam rang in New Year's Eve at Disneyland, while Greg spent the holidays at Walt Disney World. As a result, this week's show covered a wide range of park experiences and major Disney World updates. At Disneyland, the 70th Anniversary Celebration set the tone for the trip. The resort felt familiar, yet noticeably different, especially when compared to Walt Disney World. The Rivers of America area now stands out even more, given its recent closure back east. Breaking Disney News and Streaming Updates Disney opened the year with several major announcements. Most notably, Disney officially announced a live-action Tangled film, instantly becoming one of the most talked-about stories of the week. Meanwhile, new content continues to arrive on Disney+. Avengers: Doomsday trailers keep dropping, fueling speculation. At the same time, TRON Ares is now streaming, expanding the TRON story beyond the parks. Looking ahead, Disneyland Handcrafted arrives on Disney+ on January 22, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the artistry that shaped the original park. Festival of the Arts and a Disney Legend Returns Disney Parks released the Foodie Guide for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and anticipation is already building. The festival begins soon, and food, art, and performance once again take center stage. Adding to the excitement, Tony Baxter will appear at the festival. His presence connects EPCOT's creative future with its rich history, making this year's event especially meaningful for longtime fans. Cool Kid Summer Returns to Disney World One of the biggest Disney World updates for 2026 is the return of Cool Kid Summer. This year's lineup blends nostalgia with new energy across multiple parks. Highlights include: GoofyCore Hall, bringing bold visuals and playful vibes Muppets Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, continuing the Muppets takeover Bluey experiences expanding family-friendly offerings Soarin' Across America, returning as part of the Celebrate America celebration Updates coming to Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin A new look at Jessie's Roundup at the Diamond Horseshoe Together, these additions position summer 2026 as one of the most character-driven seasons Disney World has seen in years. Classic Disney Returns and Farewells Begin Disney also confirmed that Must Do Disney is back, once again featuring Stacie. For many fans, this marks a welcome return to a familiar planning tradition. [caption id="attachment_8643" align="aligncenter" width="1075"] Must Do Disney October 2009 with MNSSHP and Epcot Food and Wine Festival[/caption] At Magic Kingdom, the painting of Cinderella Castle has begun, signaling routine upkeep ahead of busy seasons. However, not all news brought celebration. Every Muppet reference has been removed from Muppet Courtyard, officially closing the door on that era. Additionally, Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom closes permanently on February 1, making now the final window to experience the attraction. Elsewhere, Sprinkles unexpectedly closed all locations, surprising many Disney Springs regulars. Muppets 70: The Magnet Mystery Solved The Muppets' 70th Anniversary magnet set is finally complete. During the show, Sam and Greg reviewed the full collection and revealed who made the cut. Then came the surprises. Several Muppets were left off the list, which sparked a deeper look at the new Muppet Show trailer. By matching the magnets to the opening sequence, the missing characters became clear. And yes, Greg really did buy a new refrigerator just to fit all 70 magnets. Join Us Live Every Wednesday From Disneyland trips to major Disney World updates, the new year is already moving fast. Join Sam and Greg every Wednesday for This Week at Walt Disney World LIVE, where the conversation continues with news, history, and a lot of Disney fun. Everyone knows that the minute Halloween is over the Disney Parks ready themselves for the Christmas holidays. Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom seem to up and ready overnight, and in the first week or so of November we were able to see the joy of these parks during this time of year. Epcot, on the other hand, waits patiently until its International Food & Wine Festival is over. Then it readies everything for the holidays right before Thanksgiving. Last week I had the chance to spend not one day, not two days, but three days at Epcot, and was re-immersed in how truly fun this approach to holidays around the world really is. This podcast serves to relive many of those experiences, and to consider some previous podcasts where we highlighted this park during the midst of Covid. Then we turn the podcast over to the music of the park, where we have provided musical enjoyment while you make last minute seasonal preparations. So join us for the 2025 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. Note that music only begins at 37:45. ___________________________________________________________________ Disney Insights YouTube Page--Check it out and subscribe. On today's episode Jess heads down to Orlando for a whirlwind trip to go to Jollywood Nights and Epcot's Food and Wine Festival!
Under the California Sun, Scott does roam, humming the echoes of Good Vibrations along with foam. The Surfin' Safari begins at dawn, while the Fun, Fun, Fun of the waves rolls on.He pauses where the sea meets the God Only Knows sky, dreaming with a Wouldn't It Be Nice sigh. The breeze carries whispers of Don't Worry Baby near, as gulls cry melodies only his heart can hear.Through the sand, he traces a Sloop John B rhyme, tides singing I Get Around to the rhythm of time. When twilight falls on this Endless Summer shore, he'll leave with The Beach Boys in his soul forevermore. The Beach Boys were the last group to play at this year's Eat to the Beat concert series at the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival...and Scott finally got to see them in concert!During this episode, not only will you hear some of their music, you'll also hear about some of the great food, snacks, and fun and crazy cool experiences Scott had with his good friends, Karen, Brian, and Russell. As a bonus, you'll get to hear a bunch from Karen and Russell, two former Guests on The Mouse and Me. When the Ramona Art and Wine Festival dropped "beer" from its name, hosts Jeff and Jeff took matters into their own hands, arriving with a cooler full of craft beer on a mission to correct this grave injustice. But their righteous quest gets wonderfully derailed by the town's hidden treasures, from a community mural project with secret hearts and a homegrown whiskey distillery to the stunning discovery that you can, in fact, milk a camel in Ramona. So pull up a bar stool and join two guys who prove that even the classiest festival is better with a cold one, as they celebrate the small town that's becoming the surprising heart of San Diego County.
In this festive and flavorful episode of **Remy's Roundtable: The Florida Theme Park Podcast**, your hosts **Remy**, **Jen**, and **Mike** gather around the Roundtable to share stories, laughs, and plenty of Disney magic. As the holidays approach, the crew dives into food, history, and haunted adventures across the Walt Disney World Resort — blending nostalgia, flavor, and fun into one unforgettable show.Remy and Jen start things off by taking listeners to **EPCOT's International Food & Wine Festival**, where they share their culinary discoveries from around the world. The duo recounts their stops at some of the most talked-about booths this season, including *Gyozas of the Galaxy*, *India*, *Greece*, and the perfectly cozy *Milled and Mulled* stand. They discuss the dishes that stood out, the flavors that surprised them the most, and how the festival atmosphere continues to make EPCOT one of the most exciting parks to visit during the holiday season. As they savored delicious bites and drinks, Remy and Jen also caught a high-energy live performance by **Big Bad Voodoo Daddy**, bringing that swingin' holiday flair to the American Gardens Theatre. Between the music, the food, and the festive spirit, their visit to the festival perfectly captured the essence of the season at Walt Disney World.Next, Jen takes the mic for her always-enlightening segment, **This Week in Disney History**. In this week's historical spotlight, Jen dives into a fascinating moment from the 1950s when **Walt Disney appeared as a guest on the popular television game show “What's My Line?”** It's a piece of Disney history that many fans may not know, giving listeners a glimpse into how Walt's charm and humor captivated audiences beyond the theme parks. Jen breaks down how appearances like these helped shape Disney's image as both an innovator and an entertainer during a time when television was still finding its footing. Then, Remy brings on the chills with his segment, **Ride of the Week**, focusing on one of Disney's most beloved and legendary attractions — **The Haunted Mansion**. Remy explores the ride's history, from its early development by Walt Disney and his Imagineers to the timeless storytelling that keeps guests coming back for more. He highlights the unforgettable work of voice actor **Paul Frees**, the “Ghost Host” who gave life (or death!) to the attraction's haunting personality. Remy also shares some eerie fun facts, creative design details, and his personal connection to this classic ride that continues to define Disney's dark side of fun. Finally, **Mike** wraps things up with another mouthwatering edition of **Mike's Munchies**, this time featuring **Jiko – The Cooking Place** at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Known for its vibrant flavors and elegant atmosphere, Jiko is one of Disney's culinary crown jewels. Mike walks listeners through his perfect meal — from appetizers and entrées to desserts and drinks — breaking down the experience with his signature humor and foodie expertise. Of course, Remy jumps in to calculate **Mike's grand total**, revealing just how much a dream meal at Jiko might set you back. With laughter, storytelling, and plenty of passion for all things Disney, this episode has a little something for everyone — from food lovers to history buffs to thrill ride fans. So pour yourself a festive drink, kick back, and join **Remy, Jen, and Mike** for another magical, delicious, and slightly spooky edition of **Remy's Roundtable: The Florida Theme Park Podcast**.
