Ah yes, the "Power Trio". So many famous ones come to mind...The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Blue Cheer, Rush...the list goes on and on. But in this Epysode, we dive into a NOT so famous one. Very little is known about the band Parish Hall. They only recorded the one album, but it's a beauty. If you like early 70's blues-rock, this one is going to hit home for you. I hope you dig Parish Hall as much as I do. -FJ ===LINKS=== Hey, we could use your support. I myself have returned yet again from the mighty Grand Canyon where I rowed my 2nd of 4 Commercial trips for CanX or Canyon Explorations. It was warm, windy and low water but we had a hell of a time nonetheless. Our trip was so stacked with musical talent that I decided to record another live set for you all to enjoy instead of our normal interviews. The music from today's episode is coming to you live from Mile 222 in the Grand Canyon, just 4 miles above the Diamond Creek take-out. When we arrived at that beach, which was our last camp of our 15 day trip, a few of the GCMRC or (Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research) staff were just finishing up a photo mapping project so we saw it as an opportunity to sit down and play some tunes before they had to move on downstream. The guides performing live today are, Kirk from GCMRC with his Banjo, Jed Alan (buy his music here) on the vocals, guitar & harmonica, Cricket with that amazing voice singing and playing the guitar, Wiley Green also on vocals and shredding the mandolin and even our infamous trip leader Pauly Borichevsky rounding out the last of the session with his amazing voice and talent on the guitar! Songs played are mostly originals and some covers from their favorite artists. I recorded only with my iPhone and was THOROUGHLY impressed with the quality of sound that I was able to capture.I fucking loved these tunes and know you will too…And without further adieu, a live performance at Mile 222 in the Grand Canyon... Purchase Jed Alan's Music Here!

This episode tells a personal story of my grandfather Wally Krauss' life at the piano. I am helped by my father, brother, and some home recordings. My grandfather was an amateur pianist and organist who for 80 years shared his gift and talent with family, his many friends in various social circles, church groups, senior homes, and restaurants. My grandfather played piano daily into his 95th year of life. This episode will feature home recordings of his playing and storytelling. Also, my father describes growing up with such a musical father, and discusses research results which show that playing the piano influences brain development and plasticity for both children and elderly. Regarding psychology, we will also discuss how a positive attitude and outlook on life can influence your overall well-being. I also talk to my brother about grandfather's influence on his life and how we are working to carry the torch of creating and playing music as part of our family heritage. I hope you enjoy it. This is the second episode in a series about music. The first episode was my interview with musician Kelley Stolz (episode 17).
