It is a privilege to welcome actress and singer Kim Yarbrough back to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar brand (and for the first time on the podcast) for the first time in 14 years!   Many Reality TV fans first saw Kim Yarbrough audition for The Voice USA: Season Two in Spring 2012. Her powerful interpretation of Chaka Khan's “Tell Me Something Good” turned both founding coaches' chairs, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera, around.  After joining Team Adam, Kim wowed the audience with her cover of Mary J. Blige's “No More Drama” and advanced to the Season Two Live Playoffs.  During The Voice: Season Two Live Playoffs, she sang Adele's “Rolling in the Deep” but fell into the Bottom Three.  After delivering a superb, powerful cover of Jennifer Hudson's “Spotlight,” the Maroon 5 frontman chose to advance Kim's then teammate, Katrina Parker, to the Top 16.  After her appearance on the NBC talent competition, Al Roker, Hoda Kotb, and Kathie Lee Gifford interviewed her on Today, and she sang with the Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Over the years, Kim dove deep into the entertainment industry. She guest-starred on several television shows, including 2 Broke Girls, 9-1-1, Hollywood Heights, Hot in Cleveland, Kenan, The Mindy Project, New Girl, Shameless, and The Up-Shaws. Kim also had recurring roles in Cherish the Day (Aunt Natalie), The Haunted Hathaways (Madame Labuef), and the animated series Kid Cosmic (Flo (voice)). In addition, Kim lent her voice to the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.  She also shared the stage and screen with entertainment industry legends, including Dennis Quaid, Loretta Devine, Octavia Spencer, Cedric the Entertainer, Stevie Wonder, Sheila E, and the late Betty White and her mentor Della Reese, who produced the stage show Della Reese Presents Kim Yarbrough, which allowed Kim to showcase her talents to the Hollywood Entertainment Community.   On this episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Kim Yarbrough spoke about voice acting, tutoring students in the arts, and if she would ever audition for America's Got Talent or wait for a future All-Stars season of The Voice USA. Del asks why someone so young would need legal advice, and he says, “You know I can't answer that.”Alice goes to Lingermore to work on the project with Max. She asks if they can work in the attic, and he says no one has been in there for decades. Jacob goes and jumps in the pond to come home, but Thomas tries to jump in too, and it doesn't work.Alice looks in the secret door and finds an old cell phone and a bishop chess piece. Max is very confused and then gets irrationally mad at her when she brings up his grandma.Alice then goes and tells Del the truth about who was in the road that night.Nick is still in town and is pushing for everyone to come together for a karaoke night.Alice shows Kat what she found, and Kat says she thinks Casey was squatting in the Lingmore house last year. Casey walks in and is like, “IT'S ME!” And it's true. Kbye.Del gets another mysterious letter saying they know the truth. Her friend says it's probably Sam, the person you least suspect.It's time for karaoke. Nick signs Kat and Elliot up for karaoke, and Del ends up showing up. Kat gives her a big hug. They make up, and Del says she wants to jump in the pond to find Jacob, but he ends up walking in.Elliot tells Kat that his ex-wife kissed him, and he kissed her back. She doesn't love that and leaves.Alice jumps back to the 70s to watch Colton say goodbye to Del when she leaves at the end of summer. He tries to get her to stay, but she doesn't want to. It's easier to leave. Turns out he was going to propose. Womp womp.Jacob goes to put on Colton's record when he sees a picture of young Colton and says, “THAT GUY CAME TO THE FARM IN THE 1800S AND TOLD US WHAT TO PLANT!”Kat tells Elliot that she needs some space and then immediately jumps in the pond and makes out with Thomas.Alice gets back from the 70s and sees Casey. She asks Casey about the ring, and Casey says, “It's a family ring.” Alice asks, “Goodwin family?” and Casey says, “No…” and then just starts running. Alice runs after them, and Casey jumps in the pond and doesn't come back up.
