Digging through the archives of my family history. I found my grade 2 report card. In fact, there were very many things I found inside this box. This box has been in my possession for several years. It belonged to my grandparents. For quite some time I was hesitant to look inside. Finally, a few weeks ago, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and look at what was there. Musty and dusty, the box of papers has traveled with me for some time. I couldn't put it off any longer. I found all kinds of things. There was everything from greeting cards to bank statments, and court documents to old newspapers. At first it was overwhelming and full of history. And then I found my grade 2 report card. That was the only thing in the box that belonged to me. On this episode, I share some family history and read the comments on my report card. This is a fun and fascinating look at what I was perceived as at the age of 7. How much of my early development can be seen in who I am today? This week's podcast promo: Nerdlanta

Controversy in our town! Local couple's fat shaming shenanigans goes viral! Recently in the city of Timmins, local power couple Jess and Billy (Mr. Tattoo) released a video podcast. This has been a new ongoing project for them as they look to expand their empire. They are known around town as the go to artists for ink work. Actually, Billy doesn't do anything. Jess does all the actual tattoo work. Well, in their latest video they answered a question that asked if they would prefer to be 60 pounds or 600. It was all downhill after that. Laughter really is the best medicine. Jokes, comedians and laughter are on the agenda for this week's Soul Forge Podcast. Shawn and Tracy are telling jokes, and trying to make each other laugh. They are discussing some of their favourite comedians. Movies that they find funny are also mentioned. Shawn's brother Robin has dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian. Or at the very least, going up on stage and giving it a try. If this actually happens, you can be sure we will have a recording on an upcoming episode! On the topic of comedians and comedy, we talk a bit about comedy specials on Netflix. Some of the comedians we mention in this episode include: Trevor Noah, Jeff Dunham, Marc Maron, Amy Schumer, Arsenio Hall and Ricky Gervais. But there are more discussed. Tell us about your favourite jokes or stand-up comedians. You can always email the show via soulforgepodcast@gmail.com Jokes, comedians and laughter! Shawn's favourite comedian made him cry.
