You can tell it's really summer time at the movies when there's a dinosaur morvie opening up across the country. That's right "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom." We brought Mike Sargent along to tell us whether it's a worthy sequel to the first Jurassic World movie. There's also "The King," which is a new documentary about Elvis Presley. It's an interesting take on The King. And there's the quirky western "Damsel" starring Robert Pattinson. What's a big star like him doing in a strange little film like this. Plus we discuss "Izzy Gets the F-ck Across Town." That's the real title. Then Bill McCuddy tells us about HBO's documentary "Not Such a Bad Guy: A Conversation with Dabney Coleman" which is a fascinating look at once of America's finest character actors. When you're done soaking up free air-conditioning at your local movie theater keep cool with us!
In the 1980s, Paul experimented and took a few big risks. Sometimes risks don’t pay off, and the movie Give My Regards to Broad Street was both a critical and box office failure. Failure is feedback though, and we’ll trace the effects of this flop on the rest of Paul’s career. Fascinatingly, “No More Lonely Nights,” arguably one of Paul’s biggest artistic and commercial achievements, is from the soundtrack. So are the lost Wings songs “No Values” and “Not Such a Bad Boy.” But hey, Ringo is in the movie, so maybe you should just watch it and listen to this episode.Click here for the Episode 14 song list.Email us: takeitawaypodcast@gmail.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
