South Korean exchange Youbit announced on its website today that it is closing down after a hack early Tuesday, December 19, 2017, that resulted in the loss of 17 percent of its assets. Yesterday, one post set the Bitcoin subreddit on fire: An anonymous Bitcoiner who goes by the name of “Pine” announced that they are establishing the Pineapple Fund to donate 5,057 BTC, worth about $86 million at today’s exchange rate, to charitable causes. Paula Newman came in to talk to David Easson about her niece Lucy. Lucy is a 9 year old girl from the Wirral who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a terminal malignant brain tumour and she's at a Grade 4, meaning Lucy is expected to have only months to live.
