In this episode of The Karol Markowicz Show, Karol sits down with comedian, commentator, and Heritage Media Fellow Tim Young for a candid and hilarious conversation about media, politics, stand-up comedy, and staying authentic in an increasingly polarized world. Tim shares his unconventional path from Capitol Hill and law school to becoming one of the most recognizable conservative voices online. He discusses building the "Tim Runs His Mouth" brand, navigating today's media landscape, the challenges facing conservative comedy, and why humor remains one of the most powerful tools in politics. The conversation also explores President Trump's unique ability to connect through humor, the evolution of conservative media, lessons learned from years in public life, and why Tim believes most Americans would be happier if they spent less time obsessing over politicsSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Democratic candidate for Congressional District 5, Chaz Molder, is determined to keep his promise to defeat Andy Ogles in November. Molder, the current mayor of Columbia, remains committed to the race despite a recent redistricting that sliced around his home and removed him from the district. As a former coach, Molder says he wants to lead by example: "Certainly I was disappointed, certainly it's created some additional challenges that were not present to begin with, but my 3 kids watch every move I make and I wasn't about to give up on this race because I want them to know their dad is not a quitter."Born and raised in Columbia, Tennessee, Molder attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and earned his law degree from the University of Memphis in Memphis. He says his focus will always be on putting Tennesseans first: "I love this state and no matter what the maps may be, we're gonna be a champion for everyone in the district."Traveling across the state — from Memphis through the western border counties, up to the northern border, and deep into Middle Tennessee — Molder says he hears the people’s needs and their frustration with Andy Ogles loud and clear." Andy Oogles has betrayed us. He has not done what he said he would do. He spends more time on social media than he does helping the people back home. He's more concerned about making national headlines for the wrong reasons instead of local headlines for the right reasons. It's a serious time and we need serious people around the table for serious conversations. "Molder doesn’t hold back on his assessment of his opponent: "Tennessee is known for sending statesmen to D.C., Andy Oogles a statesman he is not!" Former U.S. Senator Jack Danforth joins the Chuck ToddCast for a candid and sweeping conversation about the crisis inside the Republican Party and the decay of American politics. Danforth explains why he’s devoted his later years to trying to rehabilitate the GOP—even as he admits the effort may be futile—and argues that Congress has devolved into a stage for self-promotion rather than a forum for legislating. He and Chuck explore how weak parties coexist with fierce partisan loyalty, how smartphones and grievance politics have poisoned public discourse, and why the joy has drained from public service. Danforth reflects on the GOP’s transformation from the “family party” into one defined by division, how Christians have been pushed into a persecution mindset, and why Trump has inflicted deeper damage on the country than any single figure in U.S. history. The conversation turns to the future: whether leaders like James Lankford can spark a moral revival within the GOP, what true conservatism should stand for after being hollowed out by MAGA, and why Republican voters deserve a candidate who actually reflects traditional conservative principles. Danforth and Chuck also dig into constitutional reform, the filibuster, the politicization of the judiciary, and Congress’s abdication on major issues like Social Security and Medicare. Ultimately, Danforth makes the case that America must rediscover kindness, character, and a sense of shared identity if it hopes to govern itself the way the founders intended.
