This week Dana and Dan discuss episode 2 of Season 3, "The Enterprise Incident." If you like spies and intrigue with a little Vulcan romance thrown in then this episode is for you. Kirk takes the Enterprise into the Romulan Neutral Zone and risks losing his ship... or is he just losing his mind? The guys also ramble about ricotta cheese, donating blood, and Spock doing the Romulan Rumba. Donating blood is hugely important, and donations are desperately needed this time of year. Dana and Dan urge you to donate. Go to https://www.redcrossblood.org/ to schedule a donation today. We'd love to hear from you! Call the Damnit Jim Hotline at 509-676-6298. We may even put you on the podcast if we like what you have to say. Ever wonder what the Hell they (a robot does) do on that ship all day? Well, prepare yourself to find out in “Data's Day”! It's season 4, episode 11, of your favorite podcast, ST:TNGeez! And it's coming at you right about . . . NOW!No distress call, no sudden stellar anomaly, no pesky entities! It's just the Enterprise D tooling through space and doing what it does. This time, it's chauffeuring a Vulcan ambassador to the Romulan Neutral Zone, so that's Picard's day settled. What about the other 1000 people on the ship? They got stuff to do, too, and Data is happy to tell us, or rather Bruce Maddox, all about it via his voiceover blog post. O'Brien is getting married, Riker's getting horny, and Bev has her toes a tappin' in this exciting episode of ST:TNGeez!Even more available at: https://tngeez.com
While patrolling near the Romulan Neutral Zone, the Enterprise encounters a one-man ship belonging to a noted Federation philanthropist named Carter Winston, who has been missing in space for nearly five years. No one is more happy to see Winston alive and well than Lt. Anne Nored, Winston's one-time fiancee, but almost as soon as he beams aboard the Enterprise, Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock and Dr. McCoy start to notice something strange about him. Their suspicions are soon confirmed when Winston's true identity is revealed to be that of a Vendorian, an alien from a race of shape-shifters who is also operating as a Romulan spy to sabotage the Enterprise. As with every other episode of "The Animated Series," "The Survivor" packs a lot into its 24-minute running time. In addition to being an exciting action-adventure and a race against time to save the Enterprise, "The Survivor" is also a beautifully-realized love story about compassion, empathy and purpose. It's pretty far-out stuff for a what was then a Saturday morning cartoon, but it was right at home for any Trekker tuning in to watch a vintage episode of "Star Trek." So the Enterprise is just tooling along when a sudden visitor from the Romulan Neutral Zone arrives. It's a Romulan scout ship with a Warbird in hot pursuit! The scout's passenger seeks asylum aboard the Enterprise. As Picard orders the scout ship enclosed in the Enterprise's shields, the Warbird shrugs and heads back into Romulan space. The passenger ends up being something as rare as a Ferengi with straight teeth: a Romulan defector! He claims to have vital information about a secret Romulan base that threatens the tenuous peace between the Romulan Empire and the Federation. Picard and company have to determine if the defector is telling the truth or if he's a spy leading the Enterprise into a trap. Will Data ever figure out what a metaphor is? Will . . . Will Troi ever get a chance to do her fucking job?

Someone shows up sick for work -- and it's the Enterprise! The Enterprise answers yet another distress call, this time from sister ship the Yamato under the command of Capt. Donald Varley. The Yamato is plagued with random malfunctions while investigating a planet he believes is the legendary Iconia which just happens to be right in the middle of the Romulan Neutral Zone. Varley wants to make sure the Iconian tech doesn't land in the hands of the Romulans. The malfunctions cause the Yamato to explode, killing everyone on board. A stunned Picard decides to take up Varley's missions just as the Enterprise begins to experience its own malfunctions. And just to make matters more interesting, here come the Romulans . . .

“You and I are of a kind. In a different reality, I could have called you friend.” After the destruction of Earth outposts situated near the Romulan Neutral Zone, Captain Kirk risks interplanetary war and engages in a battle of wits with the Commander of the attacking Romulan Bird of Prey. The Enterprise must pursue and destroy the enemy vessel before it reaches its homeland, but Kirk has another toxic matter to contend with: a racist bridge officer who suspects that Mr. Spock is actually a Romulan spy. It all adds up to a brilliant episode that’s filled with high drama, intricate plotting, poetic dialogue, brisk pacing, magnificent performances and a gut-wrenching emotional payoff that still packs a powerful punch. “Balance of Terror” is more than just one of “Star Trek’s” finest hours; its one of the best hours of dramatic television ever produced. The Tempest crew comes to the rescue of another starship that has accidentally crossed into the Romulan Neutral Zone. But the Romulans have other plans and the entire situation may not be as accidental as it first seems...
At long last, Picard arrives at The Artifact meeting Hugh and Soji. Of course he’s on the wrong side of the former Romulan Neutral Zone while the clock ticking on his 24-hour pass. It is inconceivable that hijinks, shenanigans even, won’t ensue in STAR TREK PICARD episode 6, The Impossible Box.

Starfleet needed a new starbase now that the Romulan Neutral Zone is heating up, and Big Carpet has continued to keep their fingers deeply hooked in the requisition process, so what do we get? Starbase 173, with some of the worst-carpeted hallway cafes in Starfleet. But at least it's got racist science officers and an emotionally distant vice admiral. The station's only saving grace might be Phillipa Louisa, J to the P's old flame and ex-prosecutor. Yikes! She's fierce and in charge, with business hair and party lipstick. What's with all these mono-biome planets? How hot is a Vulcan's nutsack? Hold on because we're doing some Dane McMurphy deep cuts!
Saturday Morning Trek: A Podcast About Star Trek in the 1970s
The Survivor. When the Enterprise rescues a one-man ship on the edge of the Romulan Neutral Zone, the crew is shocked to discover that the ship is registered to Carter Winston, a famous philanthropist who has been missing for five years. Even more shocked is his fianceé, Anne, a security officer aboard the Enterprise. How would you react if your long lost fiancé returned to you … and then said he can’t marry you? Ever. Oh yeah, and he’s an alien. And the human he is impersonating is rich—rich in a culture with no money. Those are just some of the issues tackled in “The Survivor.” In this episode of Saturday Morning Trek, the wood-paneled den gets a visit from Andi VanderKolk of Women at Warp as we tackle this installment of The Animated Series.
