Single Black Motherhood - Podcaster Kim Experiencing Motherhood: Single & Black is a conversational podcast for single moms. Kim shares her experiences throughout her single mom journey along with tips to educate, inspire, and uplift other moms. Kim also brings on other moms (and sometimes dads) to talk about various topics related to single parenting in the black community. Here are some of the questions I asked in the podcast Tell the audience about your single mommy journey? How did you come up with the platform Single Black Motherhood? What have you learned about yourself since becoming a single mother? Tell us about your Single mom guide to earning more? Tell me about your single mom retreat and the dates? How long have you been podcasting? Your last episode was on finding a new job and relocating, how was that process? If you could give single mothers one piece of advice what would that be? Hi Friends! We are kicking off June with my new friend, Kim Williams.  Among her many accomplishments, Kim is an MBA graduate, full-time working mom, podcaster, and community builder. If she sounds like a rock star, it’s because she is. I was introduced to Kim a few months ago and was inspired by her story. After searching to find single black moms that were podcasting and not finding any that were current, she decided to fill the gap by creating a podcast and building a community that not only supports each other online but also offline. Kim is passionate about educating single moms so that they can live the life they desire without feeling alone on the journey of Single Motherhood, which can become so isolating. Because of the platform, moms all around the world (single and married) have been able to change the way they think, implement strategies to improve their life and the life of their children, and make connections with other moms. During our conversation we talked about: Why women are reluctant to ask for help, but so willing to give it What it’s like raising a spunky 8-year old as a single mother wearing all the hats Moving to a new state during a pandemic without an in-person support system Kim talks about resilience, determination, and the power of community. She opens up about the struggles of being a single mother, as well as the most rewarding parts. I loved our conversation and encourage everyone to check out her podcast, Experiencing Motherhood, Single and Black. Make sure to check out the links below for everything we talked about on the show.
