Hello and welcome to Mueller, She Wrote Volume 2. I’m your anonymous host AG. May is a very important month in Mueller World. It was May 2020 that we ran our series finale. It was May that we first had Andrew McCabe on the show. I dined in Utah with the McCabes in May 2019, and we won the Webby that month. It was the month after I was told my government job was moving across the country: a trick employed by Mick Mulvaney to get rid of government employees they didn’t like. I only found out later that I was being investigated and my social media was being monitored at the highest levels of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Also in May 2019, Tish James opened her investigation into the Trump Organization, which is now being criminally investigated by the Manhattan District Attorney. And that same month, Trump sued to block the House subpoena for the Mazars documents. Cohen reported to prison that month as well after being convicted for his criminal activity with an unindicted co-conspirator, Individual 1. During that month, we were all reeling from Bill Barr’s mischaracterization of the Mueller Report findings. Bill Barr had just testified to Congress that the decision whether to prosecute those ten instances of obstruction of justice was HIS, and said that it was an OLC memo that gave him that authority. As we’re learning this week, almost exactly two years later, that was a lie. We also learned that in meetings dating back to 2017, Rod Rosenstein cried, asked to wear a wire, and told Trump and Barr that he could “land the plane” in reference to ensuring Trump wouldn’t be prosecuted. We also learned in May 2019 that Mueller had gone to paper. He had written a letter to Bill Barr calling him out for misrepresenting the work of the Special Counsel's Office and the Mueller Report. Then we learned that letter was actually the SECOND letter Mueller penned to Barr. There were also two other meetings and a phone call on March 24th, 25th, and 27th about the release of Mueller's findings, but we’ve never seen those notes or the other letter. Senator Blumenthal has asked Barr during testimony if there were notes. Barr said yes, and when Blumenthal asked for the notes, Barr said “why should I give them to you?” So May is a big month for us here at Mueller, She wrote, and this May is no different. We have a Cooks bubble, and I’m so happy for them; they’ve waited long enough and they’ve been so desperate.In fact, it may well be too late for some businesses there.We had the head of the Cook Island Tourism Industry Council on the show yesterday and she was saying just how desperate they've been. She said that they were haemorrhaging local staff who’d been vanishing on one way flights to NZ every week to find work, given all the tourism work there had dried up.Estimates were it was costing the country a million dollars in lost revenue every day that there was no bubble.So they've been getting ready and doing the work, they’ve completed a PCR lab to allow for mass testing capabilities, training’s underway for contact tracing.Having said that, she also said there are some grassroots Cook Islanders who don’t necessarily want a bubble, who don’t see the value or benefit of tourism there because they don’t feel directly impacted by it. People who're enjoying quiet island life as it used to be.But what she said these people fail to understand is how much tourist dollars fund so much in the Cooks. The hospitals, the education system; they need those tourist dollars to sustain the whole economy.So May 17th is the date, and again it’ll be interesting to see whether we Kiwis take it up. I think the Cooks gain will be our loss.I don’t see much financial benefit to us of a Cooks bubble, I’m not sure how many Cook Islanders are going to suddenly jump on plane to NZ for a holiday here in the middle of winter? But hopefully a few of us go over there, to help them out.Again, that remains to be seen though, given we haven’t exactly taken up the trans-Tasman bubble in our droves. There is though the prospect of an island holiday and not getting stuck, because although the PM offered up her usual bubble caveat of 'traveller beware', she also said NZ may look at mercy flights to get Kiwis home if there was an outbreak. That's to avoid putting strain on the Cooks in the eventuality of an outbreak, easing the burden for them to cope with it.What the Cook Islands also want, of course, on top of tourist dollars, is to be vaccinated. With a small population of just 17,000, a vaccination rollout there should be easily achieved, and will of course pave the way for safer quarantine free travel.NZ has enough Pfizer vaccine for the whole of the Cooks, and the PM says it makes sense to vaccinate the whole population at once. So does it also make sense to do that before July, by which time our vaccinators will be busy vaccinating Kiwis.We're expecting the Cooks rollout to start at the end of this month, but the government says there’ll be further announcements on that in due course so fingers crossed for them on that too.In the meantime, I'll be fascinated to see how many of us will be heading to Raro for some poolside cocktails. Hopefully for the Cooks sake, lots of us.

Whenever we start to feel like we can't be stronger, any longer, may we remember the generations coming after us. May we remember that when we find the strength to cultivate courage, that courage is contagious. That courage has ripple effects in the lives of those around us. Courage is gritty, and oftentimes imperfect. Courage is the action we know that we must take, even if we have to do it a little afraid. Courage is saying what we need to say with humility and grace. Courage is the willingness to accept that you might get it wrong sometimes, and you might need to be corrected. But even then, you can say thank you. You can see this as an opportunity to learn and grow. May this be the season you say goodbye to holding back. May this be the time of your life you always remember - the time where you chose to accept that even though you were going to face obstacles lined with fear, you are going to choose to keep going anyway. You are going to keep reminding yourself at any given moment, someone is watching. And they're not watching to see you get it all right. They're watching for an example of courage, an example of someone who is willing to keep going, amidst everything they're going through. And you don't have to prove yourself to this person, but you do have an opportunity every day to let your courage have a ripple effect in the lives of those around you. You do have an opportunity to do what you know you need to do for your soul - even if you have to do it afraid. So May your courage be contagious. May you show up with all you have, knowing that from the very beginning, you're not going to get it all right and that's alright. You're still going to become who you are meant to be; you're still going to live to tell a story of how you continued to rise above, even when you didn't feel brave enough or smart enough or worthy enough. All by grace, you continue to stay the course. You continue to take action where you need to take action and practice stillness where you need to practice stillness. You kept breathing deep in the wild of your fears. You kept acting on courage, trusting that there is a reason you are here. Journal: How will you act on courage today? Hey frequency family! So May is coming to a close and I know I took an extra week off because my vacation with my wife ran little longer than we expected. So I owe y’all a little extra content I guess. I have been receiving a lot of questions from listeners lately about “does the Bible speak of Jesus in the Old Testament”? Is Jesus really The Angel Of The Lord? What purpose did Jesus serve in the Old Testament by becoming The Angel Of The Lord? Was Jesus still God in The Old Testament or was he a created angel like the rest of the Angels? If Jesus was The Angel of The Lord then how come the KJV says there was “the angel of the Lord” in the New Testament? If this new testament angel is appearing to Mary, Joseph, the Shepards, and even during the events of the resurrection how can The Angel of the Lord be Jesus? Most importantly, why is it important for us to know all of this? I have done two teachings on this subject. The first was The angel of the Lord in the old testament. This was a teaching with Justen Faull on the Fourth Watch. The second was The angel of the Lord in the new testament. I recorded this short teaching to answer a listener question on this subject but it was never published on an official podcast feed outside of just responding to a question. We'd just like to stop and acknowledge something. There is a dark side to missions mobilization. Think about it, when people hear of a missions event, often they're going to find something else to do. Why? Because they're expecting some guilt manipulation. Maybe pictures of overwhelming need, maybe being shown that they're not giving and praying and going enough and they're thinking I' already know I'm falling short, Thank you very much! I don't need more of that. And yes it's true that missions mobilizers have often resorted to guilt, shame, fear, need, as ways to try to motivate people to step up into their roles in the great commission. And we keep using those tools because, they kind of work... but only in the short run. And they really aren't Gods heart for the long-term motivations for engaging with his mission. And so what is a life-giving way to motivate and mobilize people into their roles in the Great Commission. One way we have kind of looked at this is to think about the two trees and the Garden of Eden. You've got the Tree of Life and The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. And perhaps the tree of life in its roots is the motivation of love. But perhaps the tree of the Knowledge of Good and evil in its roots the motivation is judgment. We are putting ourselves in the position of determining what's right and what's wrong what's good and what's bad. And often as missions mobilizers, we are coming in operating out of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Where we're putting our selves in a position of judge and evaluating what's good and what's right. Evaluating if they're doing enough or not. And the interesting thing is you could be technically correct in your judgment, in your evaluation, that this community is relatively clueless about missions. But if you're operating out of judgment it's just not going to bring life… ever. And the defenses in people's hearts and minds will come up. Right? So what would it look like to mobilize out of the Tree of Life? One story that helps get at this is the story of the Moravians. Many of you have heard of the story of the Moravians their first fruits were two young guys who took a one-way ticket on a ship to an island of slaves who had no access to the Gospel. And as their ship was leaving the shores they called out over the rails to their loved ones "May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering". And that became the rallying cry of a whole movement that lost so many to the utmost parts of the earth. But we love that the motivation was, The Lamb, the worthiness of Jesus, not ultimately the lost but Jesus's worthiness. And perhaps this is one life-giving tree of life motivation for missions is to highlight the fact that Jesus is the one who is worthy. We're not alternately calling people to lay down their lives for the lost, we're calling people to lay down their lives for Jesus and do it by reaching people and bringing the worshippers in. Because he's worthy of the worship of every single unreached people group. So "May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering" might be a tree of life motivation for missions.
