In May, I went to a screening of a documentary called GOODBYE HORSES: THE MANY LIVES OF Q LAZZARUS about the singer of the cult song "Goodbye Horses" which is most prominently featured in Jonathan Demme's film THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. The film is a portrait of the musician behind the song, Diane Luckey, her tumultuous life, and the frustrating reality of a music industry that didn't know what to do with an unconventional Black singer.
