On this edition of Parallax Views, Terrifier 2 & Terrifier 3's star final girl, Lauren LaVera, has a new fright flick, The Fetus, coming out on March 7th that'll combine comedy and body horror! And it'll also feature horror icon Bill Moseley, know for his roles as the brutal killer Otis Driftwood in Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses & The Devil's Rejects and the demented Choptop in Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, in a deliciously macabre role as a blind veteran with psychotic side. As you can probably surmise from the title, the movie will tackle pregnancy horror and creature feature thrills vis-à-vis a demonic baby. It also promises to be a timely fright flick in light of the debates the rage on in American culture over abortion. Joining us to discuss the movie is the film's director, Joe Lam. In the years since it has become a cult classic, enough so, in fact, to get a Hollywood remake in 2009 directed by Wes Craven protege Patrick Lussier & starring heartthrob Jensen Ackles from the hit TV show Supernatural. The original movie, in which a town known as Valentine Bluffs experiences a series of murders seemingly committed by a vengeful, deranged miner known as Harry Warden, has never received a proper sequel. Fans of the movie, however, came together to get a professionally done, feature-length fan sequel. It's called Valentine Bluffs: A My Bloody Valentine Fan Film and even features a guest starring performance from Troma's Lloyd Kaufman as the Mayor of Valentine Bluffs. It features all the bloody mayhem one would expect from a sequel to My Bloody Valentine, and, best of all for fans of 80s horror, features lovingly made practical effects rather than CGI. In this previously unreleased interview, I speak with director and special effects artist Tom Smith and lead actress Rachel Keefe about Valentine Bluffs: A My Bloody Valentine Fan Film in-depth! Satranic Panic is her fourth film, and it was released in Australia last year; this horror musical comedy is now debuting in the States. Alice's debut feature, So Vam, featured stars from Drag Race, and is now a SHUDDER exclusive. Two years ago, she directed and co-wrote her second queer horror feature film, Bad Girl Boogey, featuring a cameo from horror icon Bill Moseley. The fact that it takes place in a Spirit Halloween should seal the deal for all the young ones in your house.Spirit Halloween: The Movie is a straightforward story about a group of friends who decide to spend the night in the titular store. While there they must deal with a vengeful ghost. There are no twists or surprises and it is very much a “what you see is what you get” plot. It is perfect for a younger crowd, but it did not sit well with one of us.Two horror icons teaming up for a horror movie centered around Halloween sounds like a good idea. Especially with a premise as goofy as the one Hayride to Hell gives audiences. But when the story is about a white man refusing to give up his land due to tradition is the least of the problems the writing has, you know you are in for a tough watch.Hayride to Hell makes a strong case for most tone deaf movies we have ever covered. Even forgetting the protagonist who does not feel he has to pay back his bank loans, respect his neighbors' legitimate concerns, or hire police for the crowded traffic, it is also incredibly misogynistic. Even if it were a 1970s exploitation flick, you would think they went too far.We were both on the same page scripting-wise, but we were in entirely different books when it came to the performances.  We all know Kane Hodder is a great villain, but how is he as a smarmy asshole?
