We've been talking a bit the last few weeks about potential drought issues heading into U.S. spring planting. In the meantime, the markets have been seemingly buying corn acres as of late. More online at https://www.hackettadvisors.com. We saw both Brooke Rollins and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. confirmed on Thursday to lead USDA and HHS respectively. That, along with more tariff talk, is some of the key headline risk in the markets. Throw in inflation issues, weather risk and more and there is plenty to keep an eye on. Tommy Grisafi with Nesvick Trading and AgBull Media joins us to discuss. Learn more online at https://www.agbull.com.
On today's show, we continue our coverage at CattleCon 2025 in San Antonio, TX. We hear from Kevin Good, vice president of market analysis at CattleFax, about their 2025 outlook. Plus, we get price perspective on a tough day in cattle futures and a look at the grain markets with Tommy Grisafi from Nesvick Trading Group and AgBull Media.
We are seeing record breaking price action in cash cattle trade and cattle futures this week and we are nearing the five year mark of a bull market. Could this be the new normal for cattle trade? We discuss that, Argentine export tax moves impacting grains, managing your risk on the latest grain rally and explore the question of if corn is still too cheap? Grains close mixed Friday with livestock mostly higher. Tommy Grisafi with Nesvick Trading Company says the grain markets saw light holiday trade and rebalancing of portfolios end of year and watching outside markets and money flow. Corn saw follow through buying and made new 6 month highs, closing a second day above the 200 day moving average. Wheat followed with short covering and strong weekly exports. Soybeans saw profit taking and maybe some farmer selling. Cattle also closed strong with higher cutouts and cash at $192 in the South. He also discusses where the money will go to start a new year. As we entered into the Christmas holiday week, Congress is delivering a present to U.S. farmers in terms of economic aid. What does this mean for the markets and the ag economy? Tough day in wheat and soybeans on Friday as wheat started the nosedive party and soybeans followed. Corn held mostly firm while livestock had a solid end of the week as well. We discuss the market picture and get perspective today from Tommy Grisafi with Advance Trading and ATI Pro Media to wrap-up the week. More can be found online by visiting https://www.advance-trading.com.
Grains have an ugly close on Friday and post lower weekly closes despite strong exports. Tommy Grisafi with Advance Trading says grain markets saw harvest pressure, but were also removing weather premium and Russia's changing wheat export policy was also a factor. The key will be will the funds sell more next week and push corn and soybeans back into contract lows or will the lower prices uncover more demand that provides support? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This Week's Ag Tribes Report with Vance Crowe features a special co-host, Tommy Grisafi. This week's headlines include the impact of the ½% interest rate cut, the likelihood of 45z tax credit to bring demand to the corn market and the impact of a longshoreman strike on agriculture exports.Interest rate cuts can have significant implications for the economy. The 45Z tax credit is still unclear for many in agriculture.Consumer behavior is shifting against traditional agricultural subsidies.Potential strikes could disrupt agricultural exports and supply chains.Bitcoin may serve as a hedge against inflation and economic instability. The value of farmland continues to rise, impacting future generations of farmers. Many farmers lack access to straightforward information about their options.Unions are becoming more vocal in their demands for better wages and conditions. The media landscape in agriculture is evolving, with new opportunities for engagement.Continuous improvement in media production is essential for success.Tommy the founder and host of Ag Bull Media, is a member of the Chicago Board of Trade, the owner of Indiana Grain Company and is a commodity risk management advisor at Advance Trading.List of Worthy adversaries: https://x.com/i/lists/1815850820195475962

Grain and livestock futures end mixed Wednesday. Tommy Grisafi, Advance Trading, says soybeans give back some gains after three higher days on rains that fell in the Corn Belt adding to the record yield and with First Notice Day coming up. Corn could not build on Tuesday's key reversal and was drug down by beans. While wheat extended gains on short covering and Grisafi says U.S. wheat has gotten too cheap, plus there are quality issues in the Hard Red Spring wheat in North Dakota that may make high protein wheat supplies tight. Live cattle consolidated as well after a couple of days with strong chart action. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This week's top headlines included new weather, crop progress, ECO coverage expansion, John Deere and others company layoffs and more. The team is also joined by Tommy Grisafi of ATI PRO MEDIA to get an update on the commodity markets. #corn #soybeans #commoditymarkets #cropproduction
Grain and livestock futures ended mostly lower again on Wednesday, with the exception of old crop corn. Tommy Grisafi, Advance Trading, says so far the funds have been relentless sellers in the grains with the lack of a weather threat and ahead of the WASDE. But he says farmers are also pitching in the towel and selling old crop inventory as well. Are these three year lows in corn and soybean prices justified and what could get the funds to change trend? Plus, cattle are confirming a top and lean hogs hit new contract lows. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Cattle collapsed AGAIN on Friday while gold soared higher. Wheat had a decent rally on the day while corn and soybeans saw mostly mixed trade. Tommy Grisafi with Advance Trading and ATI Pro Media joins the show to give us his perspective on everything happening in the markets to start the month of April. Learn more online at https://www.advance-trading.com. They discuss cattle/bird fly, the strength in the hog market and much more.
Markets end mixed Friday as corn hits chart resistance at the 50-day moving average and consolidates, despite higher wheat and soybeans. Wheat saw a short covering rally but news on Russian export issues due to quality problems was also supportive, while soybeans seemed to follow soybean oil and crude oil. However, all the grains are sideways on the charts. Cattle made new lows for the move on Friday and were down for the week on HPAI fears and fund selling, while funds moved over to buy hogs which saw more contract highs. The stock market also had a down week with fears of inflation and higher for longer interest rates. Tommy Grisafi with Advance Trading covers it all. Financial markets around the world are stuck in a long period of low volatility and boredom. But one pocket is seeing some wild action -- grains. Joe and Tracy speak with Tommy Grisafi, a longtime trader who works as a risk manager at Advance Trading, a firm that helps farmers take advantage of financial markets. Grisafi walks us through the history of the market, how technology is dramatically changing things and why things have suddenly gotten so darn volatile.
