Roll up the curtains as we journey behind the scenes of Scientology's unique film production with industry insiders Marc Headley and Mitch Brisker. Marc brings a wealth of experience from his 15-year stint at Golden Air Productions, while Mitch, a professional director, sprinkles in his creativity and unique perspective. Together, they shed light on Scientology's global audio-visual distribution, the fluctuating crew numbers, and the fascinating details of creating the film TR-8 - Start, Change, & Stop. Buckle up, as we embark on a fascinating tour of Golden Era Productions, shaped by L. Ron Hubbard's script and the undeniably charismatic actor Geoffrey Lewis. The second act of our journey navigates through the dramatic twists of Scientology's film production. Remember the chaos when L. Ron Hubbard ordered a halt to Scientology conventions and events, only for David Miscavige to revive them? Marc and Mitch relive those days, sharing the struggle of juggling events and film production and how Scientology Media Productions ultimately came to the rescue. They also delve into the peculiarities of their studio - think Tom Sawyer-inspired men's room, an Egyptian-style makeup room, and a princess-themed women's bathroom. It's not your typical studio, right? As we draw the curtain on our behind-the-scenes tour, Marc and Mitch recall the food challenges on the set of TR8, Start, Change, Stop - late deliveries, lack of quality, and a dollar-a-day food allowance. They also discuss the technical and costume issues that arose during filming and share their experiences of working under the demanding and intricate orders of L. Ron Hubbard. What was it like to shoot a film under such conditions, you ask? Tune in and find out everything about the unwritten and unseen stories that shape Scientology's film production. It's a roller coaster ride you won't want to miss.Support the showBFG Store - http://blownforgood-shop.fourthwall.com/Blown For Good on Audible - https://www.amazon.com/Blown-for-Good-Marc-Headley-audiobook/dp/B07GC6ZKGQ/ref=tmm_aud_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=Blown For Good Website: http://blownforgood.com/PODCAST INFO:Podcast website: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2131160/shareApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/blown-for-good-behind-the-iron-curtain-of-scientology/id1671284503 Spotify: ...

Back Burners are a new live and production duo. Having only been producing together for 7 months and getting their live rig up and running in the last 5 months, it's exciting to hear the quality they are already putting out. This Bomphcast is a 100% live improvisation with a Eurorack format modular synthesizer, Moog Mother 32 and a TR8 drum machine. We can vouch for it being 100% live as we were there when they recorded it at their home studio.

Live hardware set from Sydney-local Simon Mann... Simon Mann has been playing and making electronic music for close to 20 years. Originally focussing on hip-hop and hip-house sounds of the 80's and 90's, Simon eventually gravitated toward house and techno after finding the joys of DJ-ing to a club crowd in the mid 90's. Sighting early influences such as local heroes HMC, GT, Pocket, Head Affect and the rest of the Thunk Records crew, as well as international techno luminaries like Jeff Mills, Carl Craig and Claude Young, Simon's taste has always been in the darker more underground sounds rather that upfront club tunes. After taking 'runner up' position in Sydney's Radio Dex Bedroom Bangers competition in the early 2000's, the DJ-ing opportunities opened up considerably for Simon and he found himself playing alongside some of Sydney's most respected jocks including Phil Smart, Simon Caldwell, Ben Korbel, Ken Cloud, Ajax and Mark Murphy. Simon's interest in production had always been in the background and a small studio of electronic instruments was developed over time. Most production work was done as part of the band We'd up until mid-2000 when Simon started to focus on solo productions with earnest. Simon's sound has evolved into an exploration of deep house, techno and dub techno elements. Currently Simon performs live electronic sets using a combination of hardware and software to create his unique compositions. The podcast recorded for DHA is a hardware set recorded live in one take. To create his sound Simon currently uses an Elektron Analog 4, Yamaha Cs6x and Rm1x, Roland TR606 and TR8, Korg Volca Bass and Sample, Pioneer EFX500. Signal processing and effects are carried out through Ableton Live Suite. Simon releases music on Etui Records (Germany), Lobe Limbique Musique, East Point Sounds, Lamb Shanks Digital, Highjack Recordings (Ukraine) and Pinksilver Digital.
