The road posse returns to talk games for a bit. Jason continues cranking out reviews for Obilisk with Olija and the totally-fine-but-I-can’t-believe-this-is-going-to-be-seventy-dollars Destruction All-Stars. Michaela is all in on Ys IX and has wrapped up FFXII: The Zodiac Age and is ready to adjunct at RPG University. Also, movie the-A-ter butter Nioh 2 has thrown her an 8-trophy curveball that might have her trekking back into it. Moose is back into Moose things with Division 2 and Breakpoint. Matt is playing fighting games with abandon. Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2 has taken over his house along with Under Night and he’s still trying to get better at Smash Brothers so he can totally be an adult and beat the crap out of some trash-talking teens. He also drops a giant Moose on a capitalist criminal in Hitman 3, which is a very good game. News gets some brief discussion at the end and we laugh a bit along the way. Under Night ist ein wunderbarer 2D Prügler ohne viel Tiefgang. Hört sich komisch an, ist aber so. Tiefgang bietet der Story Modus nur für die einzelnen Charaktere, wer also an einem gewissen Charakter näher interessiert ist, kriegt hier alles was er braucht. Wenn man jetzt allerdings eine Hauptstory will, muss man die sich überall so ein bisschen zusammensuchen. Aber man spielt Beat`em`Ups ja nun nicht wegen der tiefgründigen Story, sondern wegen den Kämpfen. Da ich bei solchen Spielen meistens eher der Typ bin der Button-Smashing betreibt, kam ich wieder einmal an meine Grenzen. Die ersten Arcade-Kämpfe sind noch einfach wo die KI teilweise nur rumläuft, der Final-Kampf jedoch hat es dann in sich wo man dann gerne mal eine 20-Treffer-Kombo einstecken muss. Spezialtechniken gibt’s natürlich auch noch. Ich bin nun definitiv nicht der beste in diesem Genre, aber hatte meinen Spaß, gerade mit dem teilweise sehr guten Soundtrack und den vielen verschiedenen Kostümen, auch wenn es nur Farbvarianten sind.
