During this episode we talk with Jared Prewitt, the author of "It'll Buff Out. In his book he talks about a myriad of different struggles. Starting in high school Jared became called an pulled into the war. He would watch as the Marines cleared the city of Fallujah in just a few days and wanted to learn about the long lived brotherhood his grandfather told him about. Jared would fight for Cold Steele in 1/6 as a DM in Ramadi in 2006 as well as Garmsir, Afghanistan in 2008. If that wasn't enough, Jared also suffered from a stroke after his active service time ended, setting him again on a path of struggle and perseverance. He has since published his war memoir, and took employment helping other Vets become aware and introduced to Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. For all of the bad reviews he says there are twice as many people who found it helpful. If you have tried other things and still need migraines and TBI/PTSD relief, give it a try.

In 1969, Kirchen took Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen to California and they developed a reputation as musical "outlaws" that were praised by other outlaw musicians and bands like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, The Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band.Kirchen's band "played a collection of rock 'n' roll, hard-core country, boogie and rockabilly sounds produced in a "high-octane mix" that made them a "happening" group in the San Francisco Bay area. Kirchen began to develop as guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and performer. He became known for his vocal and guitar work on such songs as "Mama Hated Diesels", "Down to Seeds and Stems Again Blues" from the band's albums, Hot Licks, Cold Steel & Truckers' Favorites and Lost in the Ozone. His live performance work was captured on the 1973 album Live From Deep in the Heart of Texas, recorded at the Armadillo World Headquarters in 1973.Kirchen's Commander Cody band broke apart in 1976 and he formed a "swing orchestra" called the Moonlighters and began a decades-long collaboration with British musician Nick Lowe. Lowe produced the Moonlighters' second album Rush Hour, and Kirchen toured with Lowe and joined him in the studio from time to time. During this period Kirchen also worked on albums with Elvis Costello, Gene Vincent, and Link Wray. Kirchen was one of the musicians that pioneered the Americana movement in the 1980s, and also with being a founding father of "twangcore," along with Dave Alvin, Wilco and Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys. Kirchen's signature sound has been dubbed "dieselbilly" and incorporates elements of country, blues, rockabilly, Western swing and boogie-woogie, laced with themes of American truck driving music. Kirchen's work in the early 1970s with Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen helped set the stage for the singers like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson and other outlaw country bands with his recordings of songs like "Seeds And Stems."Kirchen is said to have "one of the most distinctive, pure-Fender Telecaster tone guitar sounds in modern music". Kirchen was named "The Titan of The Telecaster" by Guitar Player magazinefor his musical prowess on the Fender Telecaster guitar. He played a 1959 model with a maple fretboard and sunburst finish that he calls the "coal burner" and acquired in 1967 when he exchanged his Gibson SG with a stranger on a bus.He retired that guitar in the early 2010s in favor of a Telecaster with a wider neck.

The long hot Summer is over. No more bathing suits, BBQs, sunburns, and mosquitos. Making way for the tastiest of all seasons, Pumpkin Spice Season. Unlike these seasons, the Grinders don't take off the rest of the year! We will be here for Pumpkin Spice Season, Spooky Season, Football Season, Baseball Season, Basketball Season, Air-Conditioning Season, Spring, and the worst season of them all, Frostbite Season. It's ALWAYS Grinder Season! Unlike Pumpkin Spice, we all will be able to enjoy these releases long into the Freezing Your Ass Off Season. A new entry in the Like a Dragon series, Infinite Wealth, the Apollo Justice Ace Attorney trilogy, Rushing Beat X, and The Legends of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 all come out early next year. For the people not willing to wait till next year, Blossom Tails 2 and Triggerheart Exelica will both release before the end of the Empty Wallet Season. Every Friday is Grinder Season. The season wouldn't be as magical if we didn't address our Stinkoes and celebrate our Sweetoes. It just wouldn't be a normal season unless Break was angry about the Ohio Republican Party. It would be a first if the police managed to not piss off Frank and to not be a Stinko. We all know they are and we know they will make a "guest" appearance next Grinder Season. It isn't not all bad news for the Police as they finally get to celebrate a Sweeto... sorta. This Grinder Season wouldn't be complete without the final results of the of latest and greatest tournament known to humankind! This Season the Grinders finally decide who will be the Greatest Mascot of All Time. Sixty-four of the great ones entered. Now eight remain. Only one can be champion. Will Ronald McDonald and his Happy Meal Gang be able to fend off the one Chef wrecking crew known as Boyardee? Will the Scrubbin Bubbles clean up the mess the Kool-Aid man left? Will the too cool for school Spuds McKenzie enjoy a free trip to Geoffrey's castle or will the Giraffe send Spuds home crying to his house full of Dallas Cheerleaders? Will two attractive twins be able to win against a Man who is so Interesting that even his beard has its own fan club? Another Grinder Season has come and gone. Don't worry because Grinder Season will be back next Friday LIVE and hopefully not as buggy! Grinder Season will be here through all of the other less awesome seasons!
