The main topic of this week's episode is: "What's the greatest gaming handheld of all time?" Is it the original Game Boy? The PlayStation Vita? The Switch? The N-Gage? I have my thoughts, of course, but I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks. Of course, if that topic doesn't tickle your fancy, there's always what I've been playing, this week with City Bus Manager, Mad Experiments: Escape Room, Mad Experiments 2: Escape Room, Beef Cat Ultra, and DAMN!. Anyway and as always, thank you for watching or listening, I hope you enjoy this here episode, and I hope you have a wonderful wonderful rest of your day. (And if you haven't already, or are a listener and not a watcher, please like, subscribe, hit the bell, and all that jazz; it may not seem like much, but it goes a long way in helping support the show and site in general. I would appreciate it greatly.)

fWotD Episode 2866: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia’s finest articles. The featured article for Monday, 10 March 2025 is Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a 2015 top-down shooter video game developed by Dennaton Games and published by Devolver Digital. The game takes place before, during, and after the events of Hotline Miami (2012), focusing on the background and aftermath of the massacres committed against the Russian mafia in Miami by Jacket, the protagonist of the previous game. The player takes on the role of several different characters during the game, witnessing the events from different perspectives across the United States. In each level of the game, the player is tasked with defeating every enemy through any means possible. In the version of the game released on Steam, the player has access to a level editor, allowing them to create and share custom levels with other players. The game was initially conceived as downloadable content for the previous game, but became a standalone sequel after its length surpassed that of the original. The game was first announced in December 2012 via Jonatan Söderström's Twitter. Developed as the final installment in the series, Dennaton incorporated all unused concepts from the first game's development into the sequel. The game's console versions were developed by Abstraction Games. It was formally announced at E3 2013, and after a few delays, was released worldwide on 10 March 2015 for Linux, OS X, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Windows.Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the soundtrack, but had diverse opinions on the gameplay, level design and ending. A scene depicting sexual assault triggered a mostly negative response from media outlets and resulted in the game being refused classification in Australia. A localised version was released in Japan on 25 June 2015 as part of Hotline Miami: Collected Edition. The game was ported onto Nintendo Switch alongside the first game in the Hotline Miami Collection in 2019, which was later ported onto the Xbox One and Stadia in 2020 and the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:17 UTC on Monday, 10 March 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Danielle.

It's one of the most unique games that we've covered with a demand for attention to detail, quick decision making, and deep moral decisions. Oh, and do you remember those Spot the Difference games from when you were a kid? Did you like those? Then you'll love this! As most deep dives we spoil a lot of what this game has to offer, so if it begins to sounds interesting I recommend giving it a shot - it's $5 on mobile! Or you can also buy the physical Playstation Vita version for 20x that, if you so choose... So, grab your passport and your bribe money, and prepare to get detained at some point during this deep dive of Papers, Please!

This week, Sony graced us all with a rather lengthy PlayStation State of Play showing off the promised games such as Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, but also delivering a few surprises such as an almost 10-minute look at Death Stranding 2 among other announcements. Sean and Marc give their thoughts on the State of Play and if they are more hyped about anything that was shown than they were previously. Also, Marc has been playing quite a lot of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, as he traverses through Hawaii with Ichiban and friends exploring the beaches, the Animal Crossing-like Dondoko Island, and battling it out with the Sujimon. Sean unfortunately hasn't been able to play much, but both of them will be able to discuss Persona 3: Reload next week at least. There's also a rumor that Sony may be working on a PlayStation Vita 2 or at least a true original portable device, but that it would not be released for at least another two years. Would it be possible to even have a PlayStation 5 portable? Does this mean we will see this become an even bigger trend in gaming? Or is this just another case of PlayStation and potentially Xbox going after Nintendo a little too late? Nintendo is shutting down 3DS and Wii U online services in April of 2024. Microsoft is reportedly close to finalizing it's merger with Activision Blizzard. (It actually closed on October 13th.) Netflix is shutting down their app - on the PlayStation Vita. The Vita was supported by Netflix longer than it was supported by Sony. ChatGPT was allegedly used to write the apology for Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Then we talk to Rob about how my view of Animal Crossing has changed due to the circumstances of when I played New Horizons.

A Video Game Time Capsule: The Complete History of Video Games, presented by MRIXRT @reallycool

In 2011-2012, the gaming world was in flux. While iconic figures like Sonic celebrated milestones, the industry grappled with newfound freedoms and responsibilities, thanks to the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Brown vs. Entertainment Merchants Association. This decision affirmed video games as expressive art, prompting developers to venture into uncharted territories. Meanwhile, controversies swirled, from the PlayStation Network hack in retaliation to Sony's lawsuit against George 'Geohotz' Hotz, to EA's contentious "Project Ten Dollar" and the emergence of loot boxes. Amid this, Epic Games unveiled Fortnite, hinting at future trends. 2012 saw Sony's PlayStation Vita and Nintendo's Wii U launch, with both navigating murky waters. The Vita battled its identity amidst the mobile gaming surge and the cross-buy initiative's challenges, while the Wii U grappled with marketing missteps. Yet, as consoles stumbled, PC gaming surged, and esports, bolstered by Twitch's rise, began its mainstream march. This period encapsulated the industry's transformative journey, marked by innovation, challenges, and the reshaping of gaming's cultural footprint.Featured Games:The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Portal 2, Dark Souls, Beyond Good & Evil, Halo Reach, Mass Effect 3, Battle Toads, Max Payne 3, Journey, FTL: Faster Than Light, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, The Walking Dead, & Halo 4. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ (00:00) - Episode 9 (00:06) - 2011 (27:22) - 2012 Thanks to our monthly supporters FS Tabreez Siddique Mynx Mopman43 Ritsu William Kage Studio Devil Dallay_g Razu John H The Golden Bolt MykonosFan ErbBetaPatched Vornak Killer Space Serra Mr. Lindsay Autocharth History With Kayleigh Benjamin Steele Nick Makris minimme

Uncharted: Golden Abyss is a Vita title that helped shape more of the Vita than you know and featured a lot of new an unique mechanics because of it being on the Vita. I am joined by Bill Barber from the Gaming & Collecting Podcast and The 3DO Experience to discuss the only portable entry in the Uncharted series. Does the game hold up? Show Notes It's time for this month's Stone Age Starter Kit! This time, Dan and Kris discuss the PlayStation Vita, Sony's last handheld that mysteriously barely competed on the market, regardless of how much consumer interest there was in the product! It's a strange console indeed, but how is the collectors market for it these days? If you had just $100 to start a physical PlayStation Vita collection, which games should you get? Let's find out!  As always, the rules are simple. North American releases only, based on Price Charting. Assume you already have the system and any accessories needed to play the games. The budget is $100. And since this can't be stressed enough, this exercise is designed to kick up fun conversation. We don't necessarily mean to imply that this is how you should spend your money.  But before they get to the Starter Kit, Dan and Kris both give their impressions of Sabotage Studios' new game Sea of Stars. Does it live up to the hype? Plus, The Making of Karateka, Kris finally beat Tears of the Kingdom, the art of a good stromboli, the importance of the right lawn care equipment, and more!              Useful Links Support us on Patreon StoneAgeGamer.com Safe at Home Rescue theGEEKwriter Shoot the Moon Stitches Tales of Cape Fear SAG's theme Song “Squared Roots” by Banjo Guy Ollie Social Stuff Join us on Discord! Now, it sounds like Sony might be getting ready for a return of sorts to the segment.Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming reports that Sony is working on a new PlayStation handheld, code-named the Q Lite. But you might want to temper your expectations if you were hoping for a PlayStation Vita 2 or PSP 3 as it sounds like we could be getting something akin to a Wii U gamepad instead.Henderson asserts that the new handheld is designed for Remote Play with the PlayStation 5 and will require a persistent internet connection. The console is said to support adaptive streaming at up to 1080p/60fps quality. It all strongly suggests that this handheld won't natively run any games.source: Leak: A new Sony handheld is coming, but you might be disappointed (androidauthority.com)Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/analytic-dreamz-notorious-mass-effect/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

It is the sequel to the 1987 game Maniac Mansion. The plot follows Bernard Bernoulli and his friends Hoagie and Laverne as they attempt to stop the evil Purple Tentacle - a sentient, disembodied tentacle - from taking over the world. The player takes control of the trio and solves puzzles while using time travel to explore different periods of history. The game was released simultaneously on floppy disk and CD-ROM to critical acclaim and commercial success. Critics focused on its cartoon-style visuals and comedic elements. Day of the Tentacle has featured regularly in lists of "top" games published more than two decades after its release, and has been referenced in popular culture. A remastered version of Day of the Tentacle was developed by Schafer's current studio, Double Fine Productions, and released in March 2016, for Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita with an Xbox One release in October 2020. ________________________________________________________________________ Grab a beer, a slice of pizza and come hang out with us. Hi, welcome to Episode 30 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast. We can't believe we're already at this incredible milestone and to do it at a live show with some of you in person was absolutely amazing. This week we share a never before heard story about a wild week we spent with Hideki Kamiya from Platinum Games at a PAX West many years ago. We also answer some of your questions live. It was a great time and thanks to everyone show came out.  0:00 - It's live so let's go  5:25 - Nintendo Storytime - our week with Kamiya-san 25:38 - Answering live questions from our amazing PAX audience. Here are the questions asked, in case you have any trouble hearing them! 1. What are your thoughts on the PlayStation Vita? 2. Being a Nintendo personality probably wasn't in your job description. At what point did you realize that being an internet personality was part of your job, and did you ever meet any resistance to that? 3. Would you like to see StreetPass be incorporated into future Nintendo hardware? 4. Kit, why don't you like Sonic games? 5. When the Nintendo Switch OLED trailer was taken down you explained to us why we shouldn't get our hopes up for a new announcement. What are some signs that might indicate an announcement actually is coming? 6. Do you have any insight on how Xenoblade went from being a niche series to a hot mainstay on the Switch? 7. (Before this question there is a long anecdote about using a PlayStation Vita for wedding photography). The Switch has been around for five years now and the competition is starting to heat up. What can Nintendo do to remain competitive?  8. If you could have a Zelda movie or TV show, what would you like the story to be based around? 9. Would you rather fight three monkeys or a bear? 10. I really like my Wii U and have a lot of great memories from my time with that system. Do you have any stories from the early days of the Wii U? 11. You have talked about how when you worked at Nintendo you knew about news before it was announced. Now that you aren't at Nintendo, what announcement has made you the most surprised or excited?  12. Will you be making more videos in Animal Crossing? 13. What Pokemon Scarlet/Violet starter will be you choosing and who do you want on your team? 14. Which Animal Crossing villager is your favorite? 15. What are your thoughts on Nintendo's relationship with the competitive Smash community? 16. It must be a shock coming from the built-in audience of Nintendo channels to building your own. As a content creator myself, how do you keep your spirits up navigating this change? On this week's episode of IGN's PlayStation show, Podcast Beyond!, host Jonathon Dornbush is joined by Brian Altano, Jada Griffin, and Mark Medina to dig into the latest PlayStation news of the week. And of course, the biggest topic on our minds is the new PlayStation Plus subscription tiers, how Sony is altering PS Plus, and whether we have enough details yet to know if it's worth subscribing to the higher tiers. The panel breaks down their initial reactions to the new PS Plus three-tiered system, how it integrates PlayStation Now, and where it stands as an offering for PlayStation fans.  We dig into the pricing structure, the availability of older libraries, the lack of PS3 downloads and PlayStation Vita as a whole, and whether different tiers appeal to new PS5 players, longstanding PlayStation fans, or both. We of course touch on the biggest question - what the library will actually look like, and knowing that PlayStation won't release its first-party games day one on the service, we discuss what they could do to make the game libraries worth subscribing to. We also discuss whether a metaphorical sandwich can help explain the different PS Plus tiers. We also hear from the audience on some of your thoughts on the PlayStation Plus changes! Then, we dig into some other news for the week, like April's PlayStation Plus games, the renewal of a trademark and tthe hopeful return of our one true PlayStation hero Knack, Gran Turismo 7's recent apology and economy changes, GTA+ if you wanted info on another subscription service, and a bit of Brian's Elden Ring Experience.
