Chat Wir haben einen Chat für Passagiere die gerne mit uns kommunizieren wollen, nützliche Links oder undogmatische Gedanken teilen. Bisher war die Heimat des Chats Wire, jetzt ist es Telegram. Wire ist ein tolles Produkt und ganz klar einer der sichersten Messenger, welcher auch fantastisch die eigene Privatsphäre achtet. Da gibt es kein wenn und aber. Was uns explizit gestört hat war zum Einen, dass neue Gruppenmitglieder grundsätzlich – ebenso wie alte Mitglieder die das Gerät wechseln – in einem leeren Chat ohne History starten. Somit gibt es kein allzeit zugängliches Archiv im Stile von “Oh, da war doch mal was, betätige ich mal die Suche”. Das Andere war, dass man praktisch einen separaten Admin-Account erstellen muss, wenn man als Bereitsteller einer Gruppe nicht auf einmal zig’ neue Kontakte haben will. Der separate Account sorgt dann auch für etwas weniger Komfort (entweder separat alle paar Tage einloggen und neue Mitgliedsanfragen adden oder beide Accounts verbinden und doppelte Pushnachrichten erhalten). Kurz, wir denken das unsere Wahl mit Telegram momentan am besten passt. Telegram ist nicht perfekt, aber bildet das beste Mittelmaß für unsere Ziele - zumindest werden dadurch nicht die drei quasi-Monopole im Bereich Informationsbeschaffung nicht mit Daten genährt. Sollte Wire irgendwann erlauben, dass man die History wiederherstellen kann (z.B. wenn ein Account mit 2 Geräten online ist) und das Gruppenmanagement etwas einfacher ist, so werden wir freudig zurückspringen.
