Tudi v novem romanu Pesniški Dvor se pisatelj Tone Partljič vrača v dolino Pesnice, v kraje, ki v njem živijo od rane mladosti in jih spoznavamo iz mnogih njegovih del. Prisotni so v komediji Moj ata, socialistični kulak, poseben pomnik pa je roman Pesnica. Vedrino, smeh in tudi posmeh sta nadomestili resnoba ob zavedanju minevanja in želja kronista, ki hoče v propadajočem blišču preteklosti svoje notranje Pesnice obuditi zgodbe nekdanjih bogatih gospodarjev, skromnih obrtnikov in revnih viničarjev, ki so obdelovali vinograde lastnikov, za plačilo pa so dobili skromno kočo in krpico zemlje. Zazrtost v lepote pokrajine nas že na začetku pripovedi prevzame s posebnim občutjem, vonjem po zemlji: »Tu vseeno še diši po podeželskih travah in živalskih sapah in iztrebkih iz hlevov ali njiv. In tudi sanjava in pesniška čustva niso čisto izginila.« Propadli dvorec nekdanjih vitezov Pesniških, celotno naselje z imenom Pesniški Dvor in tudi druge zapuščene vile in dvorci pričajo, da so doživeli nekoč boljše čase. Partljič oživlja življenjsko zgodbo uglednega vinogradnika in vinarja Štefana Gornika, ki se je izobraževal na najboljših šolah za vinarstvo in je svoje znanje nenehno izpopolnjeval, bil je uspešen trgovec, njegova vina so prišla tudi na cesarski dvor. Med prvo svetovno vojno je bil vojak na vzhodni fronti, po ujetništvu v Rusiji se je vrnil domov prek novih državnih meja. O grozotah, ki jih je doživel med vojno in v ujetništvu, ni govoril. Gornik je bil dober poslovnež, v vsakem režimu si je znal utirati nove prodajne poti, dokler ga ni ustavila agrarna reforma po drugi svetovni vojni. Včasih je rekel: »Ne le vino, ampak tudi denar nima narodnosti, samo profit ali zgubo.« Življenje in delo je posvetil vinski trti. Boli ga, ker sina Slavka vinogradništvo ne zanima, ampak se vpiše na učiteljišče, po maturi pa na univerzo v Ljubljani. Pritegnejo ga ideje Komunističnega manifesta, geslo Proletarci vseh dežel, združite se pa poraja v njem tudi pomisleke. Med mestnimi teoretiki – gosposkimi komunisti – in člani, ki so prišli iz kmečkih družin, je prihajalo do nasprotij, zato je bil Slavko izključen iz partije. Odloči se, da se bo vrnil domov, pisal o kmečkem življenju in pomagal očetu. Zgodba se tako prevesi v Slavkovo iskanje identitete. Srečuje se s ptujskimi komunisti, razmišlja o sodobnem načinu pisateljevanja, o realizmu in novi stvarnosti. Zaposli se v radgonski meščanski šoli in se druži z narodno zavednimi izobraženci, člani veteranskega društva Rudolf Maister, med njimi so znane zgodovinske osebnosti slovenskih rodoljubov. Hitlerjeva priključitev Avstrije je nakazala, da bo tudi Jugoslavija postala plen nemške politike. Onstran Pesnice so sicer gradili obrambno linijo na čelu z generalom Rupnikom, a veliki podvig Rupnikove linije, pisatelj jo imenuje Sizifova linija, ni bil končan. Po kapitulaciji Jugoslavije sta nemška okupacija in druga svetovna vojna pretresli tudi življenje v Pesniškem Dvoru. Slavka aretirajo in pošljejo v koncentracijsko taborišče Dachau, od koder se po štirih letih vrne telesno in duševno zlomljen. Rešuje ga dolgotrajna ljubezenska zveza z nekdanjo sošolko, učiteljico, ki mu pomaga in stoji ob strani še trideset let. Skozi pisateljevo pripoved se pretikata življenjski zgodbi očeta in sina, kažejo se njuna nasprotujoča si politična stališča, medsebojna navezanost in tragična usoda očeta Štefana, pa tudi sina Slavka, ki nikoli ni našel moči, da bi postal pravi pisatelj. Večkrat se oglasi domača govorica, pogostitve in pojedine pričajo o gostoljubnosti in radoživosti nekdanje mogočne domačije, ko na primer zadiši pojedina ob trgatvi: »Lepi kosi kokoši so se pekli v pekačih. Gibanice so se tresle, da je smetana tekla prek roba, župe, obare in zosi so bili vsak dan različni … In včasih se je slišalo Sladko vince piti, to me veseli … Pretresljiva je tragična stranska zgodba o mladi dekli Dondi, ki je pri Gornikovih pasla krave in je bila kratke pameti, kot so takrat rekli preprosti ljudje. Pisatelj je kritičen v opisovanju medsebojnih odnosov, družbenih razmer in krivic. Z bridkim sarkazmom opisuje razmere na podeželju po drugi svetovni vojni in politične napake: zaslišanja, iskanje notranjih sovražnikov, proces proti generalu Rupniku, dachavske procese, agrarno reformo z geslom Zemljo tistemu, ki jo obdeluje. Tudi dogodki po svetu so v romanu natančno dokumentirani. Partljič je že v prejšnjih romanih dokazal, da je dober poznavalec zgodovine dvajsetega stoletja. Kronist se na svojih dolgih literarnih sprehodih predaja nostalgičnim občutjem o preteklosti, spominu na čase, ko so vaški fantje lovili ribe na travniku, ki ga je nekoč preplavljala neukročena reka Pesnica. V romanu Pesniški Dvor je Partljič predstavil razgibano in zanimivo panoramo življenja v dolini Pesnice v prejšnjem stoletju. Ob branju se bo marsikomu odstrlo poglavje, ki ga je zgodovina zamolčala.

GB2RS News Sunday the 23rd of February 2025 The news headlines: The RSGB announces the unopposed candidates in its elections The RSGB releases 2025 Band Plans A year in numbers 2024 – some great things to celebrate! Nominations in the RSGB elections have closed. For some roles, a single nomination was received, and the candidate is therefore elected unopposed. They will take up their role at the end of the RSGB AGM in April. These unopposed candidates include the roles of President and also Regional Representatives in Regions 1, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12. In Region 9, no valid nomination was received. For more information about each of these unopposed candidates, see the March issue of RadCom or the RSGB website at rsgb.org/election The RSGB Band Plans for 2025 were published in the March 2025 issue of RadCom. They are also available on the RSGB website via rsgb.org/bandplans. This year's plans incorporate further VHF and UHF changes in response to the increased demand that has been prompted by the new Ofcom amateur licence. There are also a few changes from the 2023 IARU Region-1 General Conference. All amateurs are reminded to consult the Band Plans before operating. Despite continuing challenges nationally and across the world during 2024, the amateur radio community stayed strong and the RSGB supported it. The RSGB General Manager Steve Thomas, M1ACB wrote his annual feature called ‘A year in numbers' for the March RadCom and shared some great things to celebrate, in which RSGB HQ staff often led the way. You can also see the highlights in a brief video on the RSGB YouTube channel. The April RadCom will show in detail the work of the committees and other specialist volunteers. Girlguiding groups will be celebrating World Thinking Day on the Air this weekend so listen out for them and encourage the young operators. To highlight the opportunities for young people to get involved in amateur radio activities, this week the RSGB has published two new videos that celebrate the fantastic ISS contact and STEM day held in the autumn and attended by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh. You can watch both the videos on the RSGB YouTube channel. Between January and March 2024 Bob Bower, GM4DLG took on a one-man antipodean adventure. The DXpedition is currently being serialised in RadCom, and on Monday the 3rd of March, he will be delivering a Tonight@8 presentation to complement these features. The trip was eight weeks long and covered 27 activations from 11 sites on six islands. Bob operated on 20, 40 and 80m with 100W SSB into vertical arrays of his design, with his holy grail being a valid 80m greyline QSO with Great Britain. Visit rsgb.org/webinars to find out more. Cadet radio operators, under supervision, will exchange radio messages with amateur radio operators in the UK and Europe. The Cadets hope to speak to many radio amateurs on the air. The Daventry Experiment had a lasting impact on both military strategy and civilian applications. To honour this milestone, several special event stations will be active. The Bawdsey Radar Museum will be hosting GB2BRS, with BRS representing Bawdsey Radar Station, whilst Coventry ARS from near Daventry will operate GB9ORE, with RE representing Radar Experiment.  Chelmsford ARS from Great Baddow in Essex will activate GB9OCH with CH representing Chain Home since Chelmsford is where one of the original Chain Home radar masts still stands.  Special callsign S5701DX is running during February in memory of Slavko, S57DX who became a Silent Key last February. This unique location was formed by the impact of a meteor around 550,000 years ago. The station will be active on the 40, 20, 15 and 10m bands using SSB. More information can be found at QRZ.com Now the contest news The CQ 160m DX Contest started at 2200UTC on Friday the 21st and ends at 2200UTC today, Sunday the 23rd of February. Using SSB on the 160m band, the exchange is signal report and CQ zone. USA stations also send their state and Canadian stations send their province. The REF Contest started at 0600UTC on Saturday the 22nd and ends at 1800UTC today, Sunday the 23rd of February. Using SSB on the 80 to 10m bands, where contests are permitted, the exchange is signal report and serial number. The UBA DX CW contest started at 1000UTC on Saturday the 22nd of February and ends at 1300UTC today, Sunday the 23rd of February.  Using CW on the 80 10m bands, where contests are permitted, the exchange is signal report and serial number. Belgian stations will also give their section code.  Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA and G4BAO on Thursday the 20th of February 2025 It seems we were a little over-ambitious in suggesting that last week would be better for HF propagation. It looked like we would avoid coronal mass ejections and see the Kp index fall to lower levels. Unfortunately, the Sun had other ideas and a fast-moving solar stream, often moving faster than 500 km/s, had a south-pointing Bz, which coupled more easily with Earth and sent the Kp index up to four or more. So even by Wednesday the 19th, the Kp index was hitting five. However it seems that the geomagnetic disturbance merely lowered the MUF from around 40-45MHz to 31-32MHz, so it barely affected HF propagation. At the time of writing, there had only been one M-class solar flare in the past five days, but more than 50 minor C-class events. There were no Earth-directed CMEs. Nevertheless, there was DX to be had with the standout stations being the V73WW DXpedition to Majuro Atoll on the Marshall Islands, TI1RRC Costa Rica, and 5N9DTG in Nigeria. Upcoming DX next week includes OX3LX (Greenland), Dave G4BUO as 5W0UO (Samoa), TO3Z (Guadeloupe), 4S7SPG (Sri Lanka) and FS/VA3QSL (St Martin). Next week, NOAA predicts that the week commencing the 23rd of February could see the solar flux index starting at 170, but then rising to 195-200 as the week progresses. Geomagnetic conditions are predicted to start quietly, with a Kp index of two, but then become unsettled by the 27th to the 29th, with a maximum predicted Kp index of five. If this scenario does pan out then we may expect the best HF conditions to occur at the beginning of next week, from the 23rd to the 26th. As always, keep an eye on solarham.com for day-to-day solar news, and perhaps monitor PSKreporter, the Reverse Beacon Network and DX Clusters for digital, CW and SSB HF propagation updates. And now the VHF and up propagation news from G3YLA and G4BAO The current spell of unsettled weather seems likely to continue through to the end of next week. There will also be significant windy weather at times. It is therefore not a particularly good period for Tropo, or big antennas for that matter. This leaves us with rain scatter on the GHz bands and some of these scattering regions will be large areas affecting the whole of the country as weather fronts pass by, rather than more isolated and harder-to-follow showers which often provide our rain scatter. Meteor scatter is still within its quieter period with no major showers and better chances coming from random meteor activity, which tends to peak in the hours before dawn. Recent solar activity has provided some weak auroral conditions on many days.  As usual, check for high values of the Kp index as a good indicator, or even listen for a watery tone on the LF bands. Ultimately you will need to see the Kp index going to at least five to make it worth checking for auroral signals on VHF. We are still in the dormant period for Sporadic-E propagation, which is a shame given the powerful jet streams likely during this stormy weather. These would produce good Es prospects in the main summer season, but weaker Es at low VHF are still a possibility despite being out of season. Moon declination is at minimum today, Sunday the 23rd of February, and path losses are decreasing as the Moon moves closer to Earth as it heads to perigee on Saturday the 1st of March. 144MHz sky noise goes high this weekend, beginning Saturday the 22nd. GB2RS News Sunday the 16th of February 2025 The news headlines: The RSGB has announced its Scout, Cadet and Girlguiding Youth Champion Listen out for stations operating for World Thinking Day on the Air New resources and ideas have been added to the RSGB British Science Week web pages The RSGB is delighted to announce that Samuel McCutchion, M7UEL will be the RSGB's Scout, Cadet and Girlguiding Youth Champion. Sam brings a wealth of hands-on experience to the role having been part of the Scouts from a young age in Beavers and then working his way up to Network. He then progressed to become an Assistant Section Leader. This knowledge will help the RSGB Youth Team to engage and offer amateur radio support to not only the Scouts but also the Cadets and Girlguiding. If you'd like to congratulate Sam on his role, or if you have any ideas you think would be useful to share, email him via youthchampion.scouts@rsgb.org.uk  Lots of amateur radio stations are on the air this weekend and next weekend for World Thinking Day on the Air. Whilst the UK is fortunate to have more generous licence conditions, these mustn't be put at risk by irresponsible operating in violation of the licence conditions, particularly in the 5358 to 5362kHz gap where there is no UK allocation. Please take care not to transmit outside of the UK segments even if you hear other amateurs transmitting. Using SSB on the 80 to 10m bands, where contests are permitted, the exchange is signal report and serial number.  Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA and G4BAO on Thursday the 13th of February 2025 Two large coronal holes on the Sun's surface have been spraying solar material towards Earth, pushing the Kp index to a high of 4.67. The solar wind speed has been consistently higher than 500 kilometres per second and, with a south-pointing interplanetary magnetic field, the plasma has flooded into Earth's magnetic field. There have been a few aurora warnings, but these have only been minor. As a result, the ionosphere has not been too badly affected and daytime maximum usable frequencies over a 3,000km path have generally remained above 28MHz, with the odd dip towards 24MHz. Coronal mass ejections have not made an appearance and there were only three M-class flares between the 9th and 13th of February. Meanwhile, the solar flux index fell to the 150s and 160s last week. Recent HF DX has included the V73WW DXpedition on the Marshall Islands, which has been worked from the UK, including on the 40, 30 and 20m bands using CW. The TX7N DXpedition to Marquesas Island in French Polynesia has just finished. It wasn't an easy path, but it was worked from the UK on all bands from 30 to 12m using FT8, CW and SSB. Next week, NOAA predicts that the solar flux index could rise a little, to be in the 180 to 190 range. Once Earth is free from the effects of the current coronal hole stream, we may expect the Kp index to retreat, perhaps to a maximum of 2. So, DX next week could be quite reasonable but, as always, keep an eye on solarham.com for daily updates. And now the VHF and up propagation news from G3YLA and G4BAO The lingering high pressure just to the east of the UK is holding weather fronts over western Britain for the time being with any tropo benefits confined to eastern areas and being marginal at best.  During the coming week, changes will be slow but gradually a more determined push on the Atlantic fronts may bring them over most areas, except the extreme southeast of the country. This will make rain scatter more accessible although the models suggest that the fronts are likely to become weaker. So, they will not be especially useful by the time they reach the southeast. Sporadic-E is in its quiet season now, as are the meteor scatter prospects, with no major showers in attendance until the spring Lyrids in late April. Perhaps this quieter time is a chance to do some operating housekeeping. For example, you could update a list of nearby repeaters and beacons to help you track developing openings. Or maybe you could consider trying a new mode or band. Perhaps you could learn to use digital modes for meteor scatter. Maybe consider joining the increasing numbers trying CW on the 2m band. Slavko Jan, gledališki igralec, režiser in pedagog, se je rodil pred 120 leti, umrl pa leta 1987. V gledališču se je uveljavil že v dvajsetih letih prejšnjega stoletja kot igralec, po letu 1945 pa tudi kot režiser Drame Slovenskega narodnega gledališča in njen ravnatelj. Pomembno je bilo tudi njegovo pedagoško delo: na Akademiji za gledališče, radio, film in televizijo je bil od leta 1946 predavatelj za govorno tehniko, pozneje profesor za režijo in tudi njen dekan. Slavko Jan je leta 1980 nastopil pred mikrofonom in pripovedoval o svojem ustvarjalnem življenju; iz vsakega njegovega stavka je čutiti ljubezen do gledališča.

Slavko Alojz Kramar je pri dobrih devetdesetih letih napisal knjigo Slovenski taboriščniki v Jasenovcu. Ker jo je moral napisati. Kot desetletnemu otroku mu je v Jasenovcu umrl oče Martin Kramar, pretepen in okrvavljen; takrat je izgubilo komaj petintridesetletnega očeta še šest otrok. V Jasenovcu in bližnjih taboriščih je bila internirana vrsta slovenskih izgnank in izgnancev ter sodelavk in sodelavcev partizanskega upora; ustaši so jih pripeljali v taborišča iz Slovenije, Hrvaške in Bosne in Hercegovine (mnogi so tam živeli še iz časov Avstro-Ogrske). Slavko Alojz Kramar v uvodu v monografijo razmišlja, zakaj so Slovenke in Slovenci končali v Jasenovcu in bližnjih taboriščih ter ugotavlja, da je »bila za naciste njihova največja krivda, da so bili Slovenci; za ustaše so bili moteči, ker niso podpirali kolaboracije in režima.« Njegova monografija tako ni zgolj študija ustaških koncentracijskih taborišč v Jasenovcu in njegovi bližini, ampak – kot opozarja podnaslov Knjiga imen in obrazov – z imeni in biografskimi članki rešuje pozabe umorjene in umrle Slovenke in Slovence. V tokratni oddaji smo se odpravili v vas Čolnica v občino Kanal ob Soči. Verjetno vas ni veliko, ki bi slišali zanjo. Čolnica leži na terasi ob cesti, ki vodi proti Ligu. Hiše so zasidrane v hrib, kakor da bi bili k obali privezani čolni. Od tod tudi verjetno ime Čolnica, pravi domačin Slavko Jereb. Na svojem vrtu ima postavljen dežemer. Odkar ga je Agencija za okolje povabila k sodelovanju, pri spremljanju narave in vremenskih pojavov opaža kar nekaj sprememb. Slavko je velik ljubitelj narave in kmetijstva, bil je tudi občinski svetnik, vrsto let je vodil tudi znano prireditev Praznik kostanja v Ligu. Pri svojem delu je skrben, vesten in natančen, saj sta vsako opazovanje in meritev vremena enkratna in neponovljiva. Zadnja leta spremlja tudi fenološke faze razvoja rastlin. O vremenu, naravi in kostanjih, ki so značilni za to območje, je Slavko Jereb pripovedoval Boštjanu Simčiču.

The winner of the competition then goes on to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. Twenty-eight acts go through four Heats and two Semi Final Rounds before the top twelve go into the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2023, held once again at the Friends Arena in Solna (near Stockholm) in front of a live audience of almost 30000 spectators, plus millions of TV viewers both in Sweden and abroad. On Saturday, 11 Mar 2023 Loreen won Melodifestivalen for a second time after winning already in  2012 with the song "Euphoria" and as history is repeating Loreen will be representing Sweden once more with the song "Tattoo". Congratulations to Loreen for once again winning Melodifestivalen and with that she will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom in May. Sweden will participate in Semi Final 1 Second Half on Tuesday, 09 May 2023 with the song "Tattoo".  Melodifestivalen 2023 Finalists Interviews (Part 1): Members of the Team of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience where on location at the Friends Arena near Stockholm and conducted interviews with all the Grand Finalists of Melodifestivalen 2023. OGAE Germany's Convention 2023: The annual edition of the the OGAE Germany's Eurovision Convention will exceptionnelly be held on 25 March 2023 in the Bavarian City of Munich. The organisers decided to move to a bigger venue allowowing for more fans to join into the fun of Eurovision Song Contest with the invited special Eurovision acts such as Eurovision Royalty Lenny Kuhr who was one of the four winners of the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest co-winning for the Netherlands back then. Also from the Netherlands who represented the Kingdom eight years earlier was Greetje Kauffeld will join as well as Lindsay D from the United Kingdom as back then being the youngest performer in 2001. Trpljenja ljudi med vojnami bi se morala Hrvaška bolj zavedati in spominjati Slavko Malnar je neutruden zbiralec in zapisovalec življenja na Čabranskem; od krajevne zgodovine in geografije do govora in običajev. Njegov književni opus obsega več kot 20 del, med njimi so tudi avtobiografska. Kot petletnega otroka so ga odpeljali najprej v taborišče na Rabu in nato v Gonars. Otroštvo, za katerega bi bilo bolje, da ga ne bi bilo, se spominja danes. V spomin in opomin zdajšnjim generacijam je življenje v taboriščih in trpljenje po vrnitvi domov pretresljivo opisal v knjigi Izgubljeno otroštvo. Hrvaška bi se morala zavedati in bolje negovati spomin na dogodke med 2. svetovno vojno, je prepričan Slavko Malnar, ki v zadnjih dveh desetletjih plodovito soustvarja kulturno življenje v Gorskem kotarju. O tragičnem otroštvu, raziskovanju, negovanju spomina in Slovencih v Gorskem kotarju se je z njim v idilični rodni vasici Ravnice pogovarjala Marjana Mirković.

V okviru visokemu poletju bolj primernih tem vas tokrat vabimo na poletno reportažo po Planinskem polju. Pred nekaj leti jo je na tem našem najbolj tipičnem kraškem polju izpeljal kustos Muzeja Kras oziroma Notranjskega muzeja v Postojni, biolog in ornitolog mag. Slavko Polak. Na začetku poznopoldanske ekskurzije je mikrofon vključil avtor reportaže Goran Tenze, in avantura spoznavanja biotske raznovrstnosti in izzivov posledic intenzivnega kmetijstva nanjo se je začela. V Radijski katehezi smo z duhovnikom Slavkom Rebcem govorili o Cerkvi. Že Jezus se je obdal s pisano paleto ljudi. Iz bližnje okolice je poklical Petra, Andreja, Jakoba in Janeza, ki predstavljajo srednji sloj, obrtnike. V razširjenem krogu so se znašli drugi apostoli: cestninar kot ekonomsko dobro stoječi in vsem znani grešnik ter učenci drugih npr. učenci Janeza Krstnika. Kdo spada v Cerkev in kdo ne? Ali obstaja zveličanje izven Cerkve? Se lahko zveličam kot posameznik?

Zdravo. Tokrat začnemo epizodo z razmišljanjem o inflaciji in kriptu in se sprašujemo zakaj bi z inflacijo izgubljali 8% na leto, če lahko v kripto valutah izgubljate 8% na dan. V rubriki Berite z nami povemo, da z nami berejo (in so se javili) Maruša, Matej in Slavko. Preberemo tudi “novo” oceno na Apple Podcasts in povemo, da Peli svoje dopaminske receptorje polni z ocenami in recenzijami … in nič več z alkoholom. Drugo poglavje četrte knjige, ki je za Pelija prvo poglavje, s katerim se je srečal s Štoparcem, začnemo, tam, kjer se spodobi. Pri dejstvu, da je bil Rob McKenna zagrenjen pankrt. Aljo se sprašuje če je bil kot bog dežja zaresen bog, ali le en izmed malih bogov in da ima zagotovo svojega šefa, ki se odloča kakšne vrste dež bo padal, medtem, ko on vozi svoj tovornjak iz Danske proti Združenemu kraljestvu. Govorimo tudi o dežju. Še posebej o dežju številka 17, zato pokličemo v Luksemburg našega “dopisnika za dež”, ki nam pove vse o dežju v deželah blizu Atlantika. To je kdo drug kot Aljaž Pengov Bitenc (znan tudi kot @pengovsky), ki svoje poročanje zaključi nekako takole: "… ko se ti zdi, da dež pada od spodaj navzgor, si resnično prepričan, da si v deželah blizu Atlantika in da je Rob McKenna nekje v bližini."
