Kara Holthe shares her joy in the simplicity and beauty of God's plan of salvation, as she recounts several stories from the book of Acts and her own life. Shandy Pekkonen shares his journey of encountering the supernatural realm from a his early childhood onwards, and reminds us the point is not fascination with the supernatural per se, but the power of God to change lives in the communities where we live.

Pastor Brent Lokker reviews what we've learned from the book of Acts, and helps us focus on the centrality  of the Holy Spirit in any advance of the Kingdom. Our guest speaker this week, Dennis Lafayette, shares some of the amazing things that happen when we are willing to take the risk of faith-action in the service of whatever God is asking us to do in the moment. God supplies everything we need, even the faith — we simply get to supply the "yes" and step out to see God work through us in amazing ways.

Pastors Brent and Suzanne share from Acts 12 about Peter's miraculous escape from prison, and how even those who had gathered in prayer were unprepared for the completeness of God's answer to their prayers. For those among us who may be feeling jaded or disappointed about things we prayed for that didn't come to pass as we expected, we are encouraged to repent of any offense that we still carry against God for not having moved in our preferred way or timing, and get ready to be willing and courageous participants in God's current move.

This week, Pastor Brent shows the genius of the Holy Spirit in winning people to himself. In the first case this is shown through Paul's discourse with the Athenians in Acts 17, while the second illustration is from Caleb Byerly's amazing story of reaching a lost people group through obedience to a vision and the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Todd Lout reminds us of God's supernatural power and authority as illustrated by the stories of Aeneas and Dorcas in Acts 9:32-43. We are encouraged to know that the Miracle Worker lives inside us and that our very existence is a miracle. Therefore, being who we truly are involves the expectation of God's miraculous power breathing though us!

Our guest speaker, Joanne Moody, brings us a powerful message from 1 Samuel 1-3. We learn the vital importance of intimacy and anointing in order to be who we really are and become instruments of God's advancing kingdom, able to fill the earth and subdue it. 

Pastor Russ Fochler shares the story of Peter and Cornelius from Acts 10, and how God orchestrated changed minds and hearts to bring the Gentiles into full fellowship, receiving the Holy Spirit and baptism. Pastor Karena expands on Saul's journey from Acts 9. God invites us into a continual discovery of who He is. However, that journey requires our willing engagement, humility along with a listening and teachable spirit (as we see in Saul's example).  Embracing growth requires vulnerability and complete surrender!  To see the slides, click here. 

Pastor Brent reminds us of the simple Gospel message and its power to set us free, if only we would take it at face value. Too often we have allowed never-quite-good-enough, performance-based religion to turn God's good news into a man-made prison! Pastor Jean Bosco Hajabakiga, a prominent pastor in Rwanda, shares his testimony, with a focus on how he came to forgive one of his brother after 40 years of hostility and resulting bondage. He also highlights the power we have as believers to bind and loose with the authority of Heaven (Matt 18:18); a power that many of us know about, but don't truly know that we have!

This week, Charles Razzell contrasts the attitudes and outcomes for two men who encountered God's power: Simon the Sorcerer and Paul the Apostle (Acts chapters 8 & 9). God calls us to experience sonship and values us accordingly, whereas many of us still tend to assess each other for what we do. The best possible outcome is when we know who are are in Christ and live accordingly; Jesus being the Vine, and we the branches. Testimonies shared by Stephen Carey and Tina Razzell remind us that God continues to actively call His sons and daughters back to the joy of a living relationship with Him.  To view the slides, click here.

Pastor Susan Fochler reflects on the dramatic conversion of Saul on the road to Damascus as told in Acts chapter 9. We learn the significance of Saul's name change to Paul, and marvel at the radical a change of identity and value system the he experienced.  We also see that God's powerful intervention, while it contained discipline and correction, was undergirded by an unshakable love for Paul that would guide him into his future as a minister of the gospel.

Prior to the main teaching sermon, Pastor Brent Lokker shares on the topic of listening prayer and guides us through a simple exercise to illustrate how we can adopt the practice for ourselves. Afterwards, he shares of story of how Philip was obedient to the Holy Spirit's promptings and (therefore) ready to share the gospel with the Ethiopian official (Acts 8:26-40).  We are encouraged to cultivate a sensitivity to God's voice and the readiness to obey that made Philip so effective in his ministry.

"The Holy Spirit is not like a store!" Joel Pollard shares a powerful message on the importance of embracing intimacy with the Holy Spirit based on the cautionary tale of Simon the Sorcerer in Acts 8:9-24. 

Blazing Fire's equipping night consisted of a short teaching and practical application exercise in three areas of ministry: prophetic encouragement, praying for the sick and sharing your story. Each of these topics was briefly introduced by a different speaker before giving members of the congregation an opportunity to minister to each other in small groups.

Pastor Brent Lokker brings us a message from Acts 8:1-8, showing how the persecution and scattering following the stoning of Stephen lead the the Gospel being preached more widely, and the Kingdom of God expanding even more vigorously, than before. We are the living legacy of that scattering and have the same dunamis power to be world changers!

Our guest speaker, Prophet Ed Traut spoke a number of prophetic words over those present at our worship service on July 27, 2019.  This recording is primarily for the reference of those who received such words and wanted a chance to review or transcribe them.

Pastor Russ Fochler shares the second part of his message on the stoning of Stephen from  Acts 6:5–7:60. This time, Pastor Russ expands on what it means to be tender-hearted and alive to the Holy Spirit's promptings such that we put away all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor, forgiving one another as we have been forgiven. Pastor Russ Fochler brings us a profound example of loving kindness and Holy Sprit-guided deportment under the stress of slander, and mob-violence from Acts 6:5–7:60. While this drama may seem far removed from our relatively safe lives, it remains a critical aspect of discipleship that we allow God to soften our hearts and form in us the habit of forgiveness and love towards those who oppose us.  See the slides for this talk here.

Pastor Chuck McCallum brings us a powerful message from Acts 6:1-7 showing how the church faced challenge in such a way that it became an inflection point for further growth.  

"You know, I was so broken... but God is so God!" Bill & Linda Boone each share moving stories of how the Father's love intersected their imperfect lives and changed everything.

Pastor Brent Lokker helps us navigate some of the difficult questions raised by the account of Ananias and Sapphira found in Acts 5:1-11. Some of them may not get a perfect answer this side of heaven! Pastor Brent invites us to take a wider perspective as we draw inspiration from Peter's progression from the zealot who would sever a Roman soldier's ear to a leader who would write to the church pleading for unity, love, compassion, humility and forbearance (1 Peter 3:8-9). What would happen if all of Christian our talk began to bear fruit? How would your life change if there was no limitation? Author and speaker, Stephen De Silva brings us a message on removing the limitations that may have held us back from handling the resources of Heaven to our full potential.  

Pastor Susan Fochler shares from Acts 4:1-13 how Peter and John, although they were "unschooled, ordinary men," astonished the elders and teachers of the law with their courage, who consequently "took note that these men had been with Jesus." Susan  encourages us to realize that as we spend time with Jesus, we too will be changed in ways draw others' attention to Jesus living inside of us! 

Pastor Brent Lokker brings a practical activation on the topic of supernatural healing from Acts 3:1-10. Pastor Brent makes this very interactive, so expect to hear several testimonies and inspired words from members of the congregation as part of this week's podcast!

Pastor Brent Lokker highlights the defining characteristics of the fellowship of believers as described in Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-37. Pastor Joel Pollard shares the biblical basis of contemporary Prophetic Ministry from the outpouring of the Spirit on "all flesh" (everybody) in Acts 2:17. He expands on this with real-life examples of how such prophetic words can effectively call out the treasures hidden in our lives and propel us towards our personal calling and destiny.

Pastor Todd Lout brings us a two part message on worship. In the first segment he explains the meanings of Hebrew words that describe various postures in worship. In the second segment, Pastor Todd paints a vivid picture of how worship looked in the early church as described in Acts 2:42-47. With this in mind, Pastor Todd invites us to recapture the awe, wonder and zeal that that made the first fellowship of Christian believers so attractive that "the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Pastor Karena Lout brings a fresh perspective on Peter's sermon from Acts 2:36-41, with an emphasis on what it means to repent and be baptized (v. 38). She reminds us that Jesus' kindness leads us to repentance, and that we should lead with love rather than condemnation as we seek to bring the good news to those around us.  To see the slides click here.
