The growth of the early church was a grass roots effort -- individuals shared their faith story to others, who then passed it along down the line. The Apostle Paul wrote many letters encouraging those missionaries to continue to do so, despite difficult times. His final letter to Timothy is a challenging reminder that the world still needs to hear about Christ, and it's our responsibility to faithfully hand that message to others like a runner passes along a baton. Today, Pastor Nelson shared on the power of the Holy Ghost. In the Old Covenant, only a few had access to the Spirit prophets, kings, and judges, but now, every believer has been empowered. This fulfils Moses' desire in Numbers 11 and the prophecy in Joel 2:28 that God would pour out His Spirit on all people, without limits. The Holy Ghost equips us for service, brings utterance, and stirs boldness. We are called to earnestly desire spiritual things, because pursuit reveals passion. The gifts of the Spirit are not just signs, they are tools God uses to bless and reach others through us.Be stirred as you listen to this sermon.

From music and spreading the Gospel to transforming prayer and lessons from sports...this episode of "Run The Race" has it all. A ministry serving West GA and East AL is rebranding from "Take The City" to "Harvest Movement." Their leader is this week's guest, Jeremy Northington sharing about that transition and the Biblical meaning of the new name...plus his past prodigal sinful ways leading to a life-changing moment in a new prayer closet...and how fatherhood, sports, fitness are changing his lifestyle lately. (2:20) Following my own call from God, I first talk about a meaningful song, on the radio these day, and even sing my version of "Flowers," to hopefully uplift you when going through difficult times. Then, learn a lot more about this ministry leader. (9:27) Harvest Movement's new President talks about the evolution from outreach to more missional opportunities that include coffee, restoring lives, revitalizing communities. What if it's awkward to talk to strangers about Jesus? Jeremy had that same fear and explains how their ministry gets you ready in a non-intimidating way to fulfil our mission. there will be a Harvest Rebrand open house and celebration with worship, food, drink this Saturday July 12 (from 10am-2pm) at 2910 2nd Avenue in Columbus GA. Find out more about the nonprofit, how to get involved and support them at https://www.harvestmovement.org/. (19:58) As a rebellious teen, Jeremy strayed from the Lord - alcohol, drugs, sex - then had a moment in 2016, while desperate and broken, that led him to create a prayer closet. Hear his powerful testimony of transformation! (28:25) Along with starting a business a decade ago, Jeremy really loves being a dad, which also leads to him coaching his son. He talks about sports correlating with ministry. (37:56) And now he's on a new fitness and health journey, feeling like God's calling him to eat better and be in better shape - to be able to achieve all that the Lord has planned for Jeremy. Time to say Yes to the Holy Spirit! (47:17) And he closes us in prayer. Thanks for listening to the #RunTheRace podcast, which I hope you'll subscribe to! Share it with your friends. SUMMARY: In this sermon, we explored Ephesians 4:12-16 and the central theme of maturity within the church. We began by asking why unity, diversity, and theology matter, and discovered that the answer is maturity—growing up together as the body of Christ. Maturity is not just about personal growth but about being equipped, building up others, and engaging in the real “game” of faith outside the church walls. We discussed the importance of being knowledgeable about Jesus, developing stability in our faith, and ensuring that every member is both connected and contributing. The ultimate goal is a church where each person finds their place, serves with purpose, and grows together into the fullness of Christ.

Join Horizon at the Equipping services for PASS IT ON, as we go verse by verse through 2 Timothy.

What does it really mean to be free to follow Jesus in today's culture? In this powerful weekend episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, host Melissa Bearden sits down with Rick Green—America's Constitution Coach and the visionary founder of Patriot Academy—to unpack the vital topic of religious liberty and how families can raise girls who are ready to defend their faith with courage and clarity.  As Americans celebrate Independence Day, this conversation is both timely and timeless. With more than 80% of Americans agreeing that religion is losing influence in public life, it's more important than ever to prepare our daughters to stand firm in Biblical truth and understand their God-given—and Constitutionally protected—right to religious freedom. Rick shares from his years of experience educating young leaders, training millions through his Constitution programs, and raising up the next generation through Patriot Academy.  Together, Melissa and Rick explore what religious liberty actually means, how young girls can be equipped to face cultural pressures, and why it's critical for Christian parents to start these conversations early. They also highlight how AHG Alumna Hannah is carrying out this mission through her work at Patriot Academy, offering a beautiful picture of how faithful citizenship begins in the home and grows into leadership in the world.  Whether you're already passionate about civic engagement or wondering where to start, this episode offers practical steps and deeply rooted encouragement for parents raising daughters to boldly live out their faith in every sphere—from the classroom to the Capitol, from social media to Sunday morning.  Learn more about Rick and his work with Patriot Academy at patriotacademy.com  Explore more resources to raise girls rooted in Christ at raisinggodlygirls.com.   To find or start an AHG Troop in your area, visit americanheritagegirls.org.

Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com    NO TDA over the 4th of July Weekend… But I will see you on Monday the 7th.    When did it happen? You thought you were good at something and then realized you had so much more growth ahead of you. When you had more questions than answers. When you realized this is the secret sauce to mastering something. When you understood you should have done this a long time ago.     When I was taking guitar my teacher Jeff Schroedl was amazing. He still is. His band Altered 5 is a blues band that has won numerous awards.    Matthew 28:18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.   *Key point: Great leaders don't create followers, they create leaders. Great Disciples don't create followers of Christ, they create people who create followers of Christ.    In these few simple verses we tend to focus in on Power and Authority, the Making of Disciples and even baptizing new converts and we even highlight that this is a command… but what do we miss. Well by logical conclusion one can determine that the key to all of these is Obedience.    Five key reasons you need to learn discipleship: Obedience to Jesus' Command: Jesus directly instructed his followers to "Go and make disciples of all nations...". Learning discipleship is an act of obedience to this fundamental command, demonstrating our willingness to follow his instructions. This obedience is a way of expressing our love for him…   Obedience is greater than sacrifice - thats what scripture says. Without obedience you are just like a non Christian except you will go to heaven… You will be judged for your disobedience and your lack of following through on his commands.    Spiritual Growth and Maturity: Discipleship is crucial for ongoing spiritual development. It's not about reaching a point of "knowing enough" but about continuously growing in Christ. It fosters a deeper understanding of biblical truths, the application of faith in daily life, and the development of Christ-like character.   You ask anyone who moved from student into the role of a teacher and ask them which was more challenging, which taught them more… without a doubt it is being a teacher. When you disciple someone that is when you really start to grow and mature in Christ.    Building Stronger Relationships: Discipleship creates opportunities to build deep, authentic relationships with other believers. These relationships provide a supportive environment for mutual encouragement, accountability, and the sharing of life experiences. This strengthens the Christian community and fosters a sense of belonging.   People who go through war together have an unbreakable bond. Discipleship is many times war… spiritual warfare, but war none the less.    Equipping and Empowering Others: Discipleship is a process of intentional mentorship where experienced believers guide and nurture newer ones in their spiritual journey. This empowers individuals to live out their faith authentically and to make a positive impact in the world around them. It also plays a vital role in carrying the gospel to others, even in least-reached communities. Living a Life Reflecting Christ: Discipleship involves imitating Jesus' example in our lives. This means not just hearing his teachings but also living them out through love, service, and sacrifice. It's a lifelong endeavor to become more like him in character and actions. This process includes cultivating a heart of love for God and others, actively serving those in need, and sharing the gospel with those who haven't heard.

What does it take to reach 8 billion people with the gospel message? Pastor Patterson delivers a powerful challenge that will transform how you view your local church's global responsibility.Drawing from his experience leading a young church plant to global impact, Pastor Patterson shares how a congregation of just 25 members sponsored an international crusade that saw 102 people receive the Holy Ghost—the largest single outpouring that nation had ever experienced. His testimony proves that church size doesn't limit kingdom impact. The Great Commission isn't optional—it's a divine mandate requiring every church to participate in harvest at four levels: local, regional, national, and global. Pastor Patterson unpacks Acts 1:8 to show how Jesus intended believers to engage simultaneously at each level, challenging listeners with a sobering question: What will it take for today's church to move beyond comfortable boundaries into worldwide harvest fields?God measures churches not by seating capacity but by sending capacity. This perspective shift invites leaders to evaluate ministry effectiveness through global impact rather than just local metrics. Even if you can't physically go on international missions, you can participate through prayer and financial support—both powerful ways to extend your reach beyond city limits. The session culminates with powerful insights from Pastor Patterson's recent experience on the Ethiopia crusade team, where he witnessed the extraordinary impact of unity and collaborative ministry. When ego and personal recognition are set aside for kingdom advancement, supernatural doors open and exponential blessings flow.Ready to expand your vision and participate in global harvest?
