Nigeria has become perhaps the deadliest place on earth for Christians, accounting for the vast majority of Christians killed worldwide for faith-related reasons.Beyond the killings, millions more have been displaced into camps, where many now die slowly from malnutrition rather than violence, says Judd Saul.He is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, entrepreneur, and Christian missionary based in Iowa who founded Equipping the Persecuted, an organization dedicated to helping Christians facing jihadi violence in Nigeria.Saul first traveled to Nigeria in 2011 on a mission trip with his grandfather, Duane Wessels.It was an experience that reshaped the direction of his life and work. Not every ancient text is Scripture, and that distinction matters more than we might think. The canon is not determined by age, language, popularity, or religious value. The only qualifying mark is divine inspiration. Many writings may be helpful, insightful, even historically significant, but only those inspired by God stand as the rule of faith.Canonicity was not invented by a committee. Scripture was recognised through God's prophetic authorship, confirmed in the very nature of the text itself. And the Book of Esther is one of the most striking examples: God is never once mentioned by name, yet His providence, covenant faithfulness, and sovereign hand are visible on every page. No one can do children's ministry alone. How does a children's ministry staff shoulder the weight of discipling the people under their care? There is an art to recruiting, placing, supporting, and developing serving partners to care well for our children and families. We also want them to become an integral part of a discipleship ministry team and find a place of belonging themselves.
