LESSON 106Let Me Be Still And Listen To The Truth. If you will lay aside the ego's voice, however loudly it may seem to call, if you will not accept its petty gifts that give you nothing that you really want; if you will listen with an open mind, that has not told you what salvation is; then you will hear the mighty Voice of truth, quiet in power, strong in stillness, and completely certain in Its messages.Listen, and hear your Father speak to you through His appointed Voice, Which silences the thunder of the meaningless, and shows the way to peace to those who cannot see. Be still today and listen to the truth. Be not deceived by voices of the dead, which tell you they have found the source of life and offer it to you for your belief. Attend them not, but listen to the truth.Be not afraid today to circumvent the voices of the world. Walk lightly past their meaningless persuasion. Hear them not. Be still today and listen to the truth. Go past all things which do not speak of Him Who holds your happiness within His hand, held out to you in welcome and in love. Hear only Him today, and do not wait to reach Him longer. Hear one Voice today.Today the promise of God's Word is kept. Hear and be silent. He would speak to you. He comes with miracles a thousand times as happy and as wonderful as those you ever dreamed or wished for in your dreams. His miracles are true. They will not fade when dreaming ends. They end the dream instead; and last forever, for they come from God to His dear Son, whose other name is you. Prepare yourself for miracles today. Today allow your Father's ancient pledge to you and all your brothers to be kept.Hear Him today, and listen to the Word which lifts the veil that lies upon the earth, and wakes all those who sleep and cannot see. God calls to them through you. He needs your voice to speak to them, for who could reach God's Son except his Father, calling through your Self? Hear Him today, and offer Him your voice to speak to all the multitude who wait to hear the Word that He will speak today.Be ready for salvation. It is here, and will today be given unto you. And you will learn your function from the One Who chose it in your Father's Name for you. Listen today, and you will hear a Voice Which will resound throughout the world through you. The Bringer of all miracles has need that you receive them first, and thus become the joyous giver of what you received. Thus does salvation start and thus it ends; when everything is yours and everything is given away, it will remain with you forever. And the lesson has been learned. Today we practice giving, not the way you understand it now, but as it is. Each hour's exercises should begin with this request for your enlightenment:I will be still and listen to the truth. What does it mean to give and to receive?Ask and expect an answer. Your request is one whose answer has been waiting long to be received by you. It will begin the ministry for which you came, and which will free the world from thinking giving is a way to lose. And so the world becomes ready to understand and to receive.Be still and listen to the truth today. For each five minutes spent in listening, a thousand minds are opened to the truth and they will hear the holy Word you hear. And when the hour is past, you will again release a thousand more who pause to ask that truth be given them, along with you.Today the holy Word of God is kept through your receiving it to give away, so you can teach the world what giving means by listening and learning it of Him. Do not forget today to reinforce your choice to hear and to receive the Word by this reminder, given to yourself as often as is possible today:Let me be still and listen to the truth.I am the messenger of God today,My voice is His, to give what I receive.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

God is lofty, unapproachable and infinite. He is indescribable- He cannot be described. Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, who is all-powerful to save us. || 1 || CHHANT: Save me, any way You can; O Lord God, I am Yours. My demerits are uncountable; how many of them should I count? The sins and crimes I committed are countless; day by day, I continually make mistakes. I am intoxicated by emotional attachment to Maya, the treacherous one; by Your Grace alone can I be saved. Secretly, I commit hideous sins of corruption, even though God is the nearest of the near. Prays Nanak, shower me with Your Mercy, Lord, and lift me up, out of the whirlpool of the terrifying world-ocean. || 1 || SHALOK: Countless are His virtues; they cannot be enumerated. God's Name is lofty and exalted. This is Nanak's humble prayer, to bless the homeless with a home. || 2 || CHHANT: There is no other place at all - where else should I go? Twenty-four hours a day, with my palms pressed together, I meditate on God. Meditating forever on my God, I receive the fruits of my mind's desires. Renouncing pride, attachment, corruption and duality, I lovingly center my attention on the One Lord. Dedicate your mind and body to God; eradicate all your self-conceit. Prays Nanak, shower me with Your mercy, Lord, that I may be absorbed in Your True Name. || 2 || SHALOK: O mind, meditate on the One, who holds everything in His hands. Gather the wealth of the Lord's Name; O Nanak, it shall always be with You. || 3 || CHHANT: God is our only True Friend; there is not any other. In the places and interspaces, in the water and on the land, He Himself is pervading everywhere. He is totally permeating the water, the land and the sky; God is the Great Giver, the Lord and Master of all. The Lord of the world, the Lord of the universe has no limit; His Glorious Virtues are unlimited- how can I count them? I have hurried to the Sanctuary of the Lord Master, the Bringer of peace; without Him, there is no other at all. Prays Nanak, that being, unto whom the Lord shows mercy - he alone obtains the Naam. || 3 || SHALOK: Whatever I wish for, that I receive. Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Nanak has found total peace. || 4 || CHHANT: My mind is now emancipated; I have joined the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. As Gurmukh, I chant the Naam, and my light has merged into the Light. Remembering the Lord's Name in meditation, my sins have been erased; the fire has been extinguished, and I am satisfied. He has taken me by the arm, and blessed me with His kind mercy; He has accepted me His own. The Lord has hugged me in His embrace, and merged me with Himself; the pains of birth and death have been burnt away. Prays Nanak, He has blessed me with His kind mercy; in an instant, He unites me with Himself. || 4 || 2 ||
After taking a Christmas break, I am picking up on my summaries of the Ancient Art of Modern Warfare. In the previous episode, I described the nature of war as violence intended to compel an opponent to submit to your will. Although this idea is described by Carl von Clausewitz in his magnum opus, On War, the Prussian philosopher of war is best known for the aphorism that war is a continuation of politics by other means. It is a catchy phrase, but that translation leaves a lot to be desired and misses key points Clausewitz wanted to make. As I see it, the key take-aways from this idea are: War must be viewed as an instrument of national policy – one among many. War is not the policy; war is inserted to the ongoing political engagement to achieve the policy objective. Therefore, it is important to know what that policy is – the objective the policy intends to achieve. That is, to understand what a nation intends to achieve by war, before embarking upon it. It follows then, that the use of force in war must be consistent with the aims of that policy. Not all wars have the policy objective of overthrowing the enemy. A suspension of active warfare does not necessarily mean abandoning the strategic policy objective. If you want to end a war, achieve or change the policy objective. Reference: v. Did you have intentions for 2024 that were not manifested? Maybe obstacles kept getting in your way, or maybe you just didn't get to it yet, or maybe you changed your mind. But the question inevitably comes up: should I hold onto this intention and keep trying or should I let it go and move on? It's not always easy to know if it's meant to be, but we have two Divine Names, divine powers that can help us determine when something needs a bit more time for gestation and when it is ready to move forward. I explain in the meditation why we use these names as mantras. I'll list them here so you reference them during the meditation:Al-Mu'akhkhir, The One Who holds back, to hold back and let it gestate before acting on it Al-Muqaddim, The One Who moves forwardWe also call on two other Divine Names which represent the cycle of death and birth or rebirth: Al-Mumit, The Bringer of Death, ending, closureAl-Muhyi, The Giver of Life, regenerative life forceListen to this episode to seek insights into what is best to carry forward, what is best to let rest for a while longer, and what is best to let go of altogether. You're invited to join us LIVE for The Meditation & Healing Circle - every Sunday at 10am US ET / 7am US PT. In this second episode of my summary series, I address the Nature of War. That nature is violence directed at an opponent to coerce him to submit to your will. This violence has always been the nature of war and it will always be so. Further, this violence must be so painful to your opponent that he will prefer submitting to your will rather than continuing to resist. How you apply that violence and where the pain must be applied changes with time, technology, and culture. Further, the tools to apply this pain are not just kinetic, or direct military action. Economic pain can be just as important as military force. So too is information directed towards increasing fear of pain in the opponents' population, its leaders, and your opponents' friends. What makes war different from other forms of violence is its political nature. This violence is directed towards achieving a political end state. Without directing military force to a clearly defined political objective military success is still possible but will, more than likely, end in strategic failure. For more information refer to Episode 7 of this series, “What is War;” Episode 8: “The Natural Laws of War;” Episode 42: “All Successful Wars Are Alike;” and Episode 43: “Ways to Lose a War.” Reference: Clausewitz, C., On War, (Michael Howard and Peter Paret Ed. In their extreme hubris, humans believe that Luke's admonition, “A tree is known by its fruit,” is nothing more than a proverb about being a “better parent.” But as I explained a few episodes ago, it is a warning that humans can't parent. It is a judgment, a mashal, a rule, a verse, a biblical sign that there is no such thing as a good human parent because the only tree that bears “good fruit” is the wisdom of God.With this in mind, what did you go out to see in the wilderness of Luke 7? Twice?Luke wrote the question twice.Twice, he asked, “Are you the Expected One, or do we look for someone else?”Twice, as if the same person were looking at himself in the mirror. Is Jesus looking for John the Baptist, or is it the other way around? What's the difference between the message and the messenger?Do you study the Bible, or does the Bible study you?Who is the reed shaken by the wind?Is it the reed Solomon can't use to measure John's Palace, or the reed Isaiah's “Bringer of Justice” refuses to break?Who is the “Bringer of Justice?” Can you tell? What did you go out to see, human?A prophet? You may be indifferent to the prophet, yes, but then you hate his message, too.You hypocrite.I will tell you what the fruit of the Good Parent looks like.It doesn't eat bread, and it doesn't drink wine, and you say it has a demon. It eats bread and drinks its fill, and you accuse it of gluttony. Why? Because you are a wicked human parent. You do not love God. You are like a spoiled child: impossible to please, self-serving, fickle, unresponsive, pouty, regardless of the message or the messenger. But the children of the Good Parent, whether they fast or feast sumptuously with sinners, are deemed righteous by the Most High; the same is shown to be righteous by his children. As Paul said:“You are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.”This week, I discuss Luke 7:25-35.Show Notesצ-ד-ק (sade-dalet-qof) / ص-د-ق (ṣād-dāl-qāf) / δικαιόωThe root צ-ד-ק carries the usage “deemed just” or “deemed righteous” in Semitic languages:Aramaic: צְדֵק “He was righteous.”Syriac: זָדֵק “It is right.” Note the shift of צ to ז. (Klein)Ugaritic: (ṣdq) “Reliable, strong.”Arabic: صَدَقَ (ṣadaqa) “He spoke the truth.”Ethiopic: (ṣadaqa) “He was just, was righteous.”In the Bible, there are numerous examples of this root as it pertains to God's judgment:“And the heavens declare His righteousness (צִדְקָתוֹ, ṣidqātō), for God Himself is judge. Selah.” (Psalms 50:6)“Put Me in remembrance, let us argue our case together; state your cause, that you may be proved right (תִּצְדָּק, tiṣdāq).” (Isaiah 43:26)“In the Lord all the offspring of Israel will be [deemed] righteous (יִצְדְּקוּ, yiṣdāqū) and will glory.” (Isaiah 45:25)In the Qur'an and Arabic, the root ص-د-ق is associated with honesty, trustworthiness, acts of charity, the fulfillment of promises, and righteousness. Compare parallel usage in the Torah and the Qur'an:ְהֶאֱמִן בַּיהוָה וַיַּחְשְׁבֶהָ לּוֹ צְדָקָה (Wa-heʾemin ba-Yahweh wa-yaḥshebaha lahu ṣidāqah)“Then he believed in the Lord, and he reckoned it to him as righteousness.” (Genesis 15:6)وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا(Wa-udhkur fī al-kitābi Ibrāhīma innahu kāna ṣiddīqan nabiyyā.)“And mention in the Book Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of righteousness and a prophet.”(Surah Maryam, 19:41)Examples of ص-د-ق in Arabic: صَدِّيقٌ (ṣiddīq) – A person of high righteousness and truthfulness.صَدَقَةٌ (ṣadaqah) – Voluntary charity or almsgiving.صَادِقٌ (ṣādiq) – Truthful, honest, a righteous person.تَصْدِيقٌ (taṣdīq) – Affirmation or confirmation of truth.مُصَدِّقٌ (muṣaddiq) – One who believes in and confirms the truth. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

The Law promised blessings and curses. The blessings were for Israel, if they obeyed. The curse were for Israel, if they broke faith with God and went their own way. In this sermon, we take a deep dive into both the blessings of the law and the curses, and we look forward to the New Testament, to see how Christ came to break the curse and to bring the blessing of eternal life.

The scariest monster masks are the ones worn beneath the seemingly human expressions exhibited by political leaders. From pandering to different racial or social groups with changing accents to buying votes with ridiculous promises, and from trying and failing to appeal to Americans through almost comedy sketch-like commercials to what seems like trolling in the theft of an opponent's religious identity, not to mention the bizarre attempts to drink beer or make cheeseburgers in order to appear human, there is a seriously growing concern that these people may not be all that human. -FREE ARCHIVE & RSS: https://www.spreaker.com/show/the-secret-teachings Twitter: https://twitter.com/TST___Radio Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thesecretteachings WEBSITE (BOOKS, RESUBSCRIBE for early show access): http://thesecretteachings.info Paypal: rdgable@yahoo.com CashApp: $rdgable EMAIL: rdgable@yahoo.com / TSTRadio@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-secret-teachings-with-ryan-gable--5328407/support.

Your faith began with someone else's. Could it be that other people's faith will begin because of your obedience? The most important thing you can do in life is win souls and make disciples. The Lord's mission is our mission! We can't sit and wait for God to do all the work. He uses people and He wants to use you!
We often think of composers as solitary geniuses, scribbling away at their masterpieces, working alone. But this isn't always the case. Gustav Holst, most famous for composing The Planets, struggled all his life with neuritis, a condition that made his arms feel like “jelly overcharged with electricity.” It was frequently impossible for him to play or even write, so, to bring his vision of our solar system to life, he needed help. This week, Donald Macleod charts Holst's interplanetary expedition and discovers the unsung heroes who placed him amongst the stars.Music Featured: The Planets, Op 32 Toccata, H 153 Symphony in F Major, Op 8, H 47 “The Cotswolds” (2nd mvt, Elegy, Molto adagio & 3rd mvt, Scherzo, Presto - Allegretto) Sita, Op 23, H 89 (Interlude) The Mystic Trumpeter, Op 18 Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, Op 26 (3rd Group, H99) The Hymn of Jesus, Op37 / H 140 (Hymn II, Hymn III, Hymn IV) 5 Partsongs, Op 12, H 61 St Paul's Suite, Op 29, No 2 Ballet music from 'The Perfect Fool' H150 (Op 39) Sāvitri, Op 25 (I - VI) Ode to Death, Op 38, H 144 Suite No 2 for Military Band in F major, Op 28 No 2, H106 Choral Symphony, Op 41 (2nd mvt, Song and Bacchanal) Scherzo for Orchestra, H192 Hammersmith - Prelude and Scherzo, H178, Op 52 Egdon Heath Op 47 (1st mvt, Adagio - Poco Allegro - Andante maestoso) Brook Green Suite The Planets, Op 32 (Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity) arr. for two pianosPresented by Donald Macleod Produced by Alice McKee for BBC Audio Wales & WestFor full track listings, including artist and recording details, and to listen to the pieces featured in full (for 30 days after broadcast) head to the series page for Gustav Holst (1874-1934) https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0022sj0 And you can delve into the A-Z of all the composers we've featured on Composer of the Week here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/3cjHdZlXwL7W41XGB77X3S0/composers-a-to-z
Welcome back to Busy Kids Love Music! In this second episode of our three-part series on the incredible composer Gustav Holst, we're diving into one of his most famous and beloved works: The Planets. Whether you're a budding astronomer, a lover of mythology, or a homeschooling student learning about the solar system, this episode offers a fun and fascinating musical journey through the stars. In The Planets, Holst composed a suite of seven movements, each named after a different planet in our solar system and its corresponding astrological character. Holst's fascination with astrology -- a belief some held that the positions and movements of stars and planets might influence lives on Earth—played a significant role in the creation of this work. We'll explore how Holst used music to bring these celestial bodies to life, portraying the intense and dramatic nature of Mars, the serene beauty of Venus, the playful speed of Mercury, the jubilant energy of Jupiter, the solemn wisdom of Saturn, the mysterious magic of Uranus, and the ethereal mysticism of Neptune. This episode is perfect for astronomy enthusiasts and homeschoolers alike, as it connects the worlds of music, mythology, and the cosmos. Plus, it's a fantastic way to experience how music can convey the character and personality of each planet. If you missed the first episode in this series, where we discussed Holst's life and musical style, be sure to check it out [here](#). And don't forget to explore our curated playlist of The Planets, linked in the show notes, to hear more of Holst's incredible work. In our next episode, we'll take an in-depth look at another of Holst's other notable works and his lasting legacy in the world of music. Until then, keep listening and keep loving music! The fighting in the Kursk Oblast is still ongoing, and it would be much to soon to derive any lessons to be learned from this event. This episode picks up from the previous episode, examining how this campaign might offer examples of concepts presented in previous podcasts of the Ancient Art of Modern Warfare. Ukraine continues maneuver warfare at the tactical level, although as of this writing, nothing approaching the level of decisive action. Russia continues its World War I style offensive in the east, while the south has some interesting long-range strikes. The contrast between attrition warfare in the east and maneuver warfare in the north, combined with drones, deep fires, and partisan activity in Russian occupied areas all indicate that no prior form of warfare is obsolescent and all can exist simultaneously with modern techno-warfare. The war in Ukraine has taken a very interesting, and I think, exciting turn of events. The advent of combined arms maneuver warfare reminiscent of armored offensives in that region eight decades ago. It is impossible to conduct an in-depth analysis at this time. There is too much going on and we really know little about order of battle or Ukrainian objectives. StilI, I felt the need to talk about this ongoing battle for a several reasons. Most important of these is that it is an example of the type of maneuver warfare that is possible and should be a feature of this war.
