Erin Gregory, the Curator at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, joined us to look into the life and escape of her fellow Canadian, Gordon Kidder, who was a linguistics expert, and who teamed up with Tom Kirby-Green for the Great Escape. Erin is responsible for managing a collection of more than 8,500 objects and has curated many exhibitions at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. An often and easily overlooked, but crucially important, aspect of escaping is the provision of food. In the Great Escape, the X Committee had an entire department dedicated to providing food rations for the escapers. Dianne Rutherford joined us to look at the need, function, and production of the escape maps for the Great Escape.
