Alex Moss and Burton DeWitt are back with a new episode of your go-to darts podcast! The boys start this week's show by reacting to the big news from last week - World Seniors Darts cancelling all of their future events, including next year's World Seniors Championship - and pick out their favourite moments from the organisation's four-year run and also discuss how they would plan a future version of seniors darts. Gemma Hayter (18:45) joins the show ahead of playing on the PDC Women's Series this weekend. Gemma looks back on the last 18 months of her comeback to the ladies' game, winning two Women's Series titles and the ADC Women's Finals last year, recently making her debut in the Women's World Matchplay at the Winter Gardens and much more. Alex and Burton wrap up the show by picking out the players who have caught their eye on the oche over the last two weekends, before previewing the penultimate weekend of Women's Series action in Milton Keynes later this week and what to watch out for during the rest of the season. In today's Daily Fix:Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's release date has been leaked, and you can expect to play is starting November 14th. Unless you're hoping to play on Switch 2, in which case you may be waiting a bit longer. Black Ops 7 is expected to hit pretty much every major console—yes, even PS4 and Xbox One—except the Nintendo ones. Microsoft and Nintendo have a legally binding agreement to bring Call of Duty to the Switch platform, so it's likely a case of 'when' and not 'if' when it comes to a Switch 2 port. In other news, screenwriter and Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter has finally played Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. After voicing the character across several games starting with Metal Gear Solid in 1998, Hayter was unceremoniously booted from the role for MGS5 in 2015, only to be replaced by the more mainstream Keifer Sutherland. But Hayter has since gotten over it and played MGS5, which he thinks is 'amazing.' And we'll take a look at how all of Borderlands 4's Vault Hunters can work together to take out a boss.Presented by Borderlands 4.

This week, Drewby and Yergy head back over across the pond to Ramsey, UK, to discuss the case of Gemma Hayter, a 27-year-old disabled woman who was essentially let down by the powers that be. As such, poor Gemma ended up running with the wrong crowd... a crowd that didn't have her best interests at heart. After an evening at the pub, Gemma's "friends" turned on her, which led to her brutal assault and murder the following day. Due to the striking similarities in their two cases, Gemma Hayter's case has often been compared to that of Jennifer Daugherty's case here in the USA. Surging demand from data centers, AI-driven infrastructure, and electric vehicles is straining power grids already under pressure. States like Texas are seeing especially sharp growth, with grid operators warning of capacity concerns due to accelerating industrial and residential loads. This pressure is prompting urgent conversations about how to build and adapt modern energy infrastructure to avoid major service disruptions. Tonight, we shall read the next part to “Persuasion”, the last novel fully completed by Jane Austen, and published in 1817. The story concerns Anne Elliot, an Englishwoman whose family moves in order to lower their expenses and reduce their debt, by renting their home to an Admiral and his wife. In the last episode, we find Anne obliged to go on what should be a very awkward walk through the countryside with her sister Mary, their cousins Henrietta and Louisa, her brother-in-law Charles, and Captain Wentworth. We observe the degree to which Captain Wentworth prizes conviction and loyalty in a woman in reaction to how Anne had allowed herself to be persuaded against him eight years earlier. Their long walk seems random but when they reach the grounds of the cousin's relation's The Hayter's home, Henrietta and Charles go in to visit while the rest of the party stay out in the woods to enjoy the fresh air. Anne rests quietly while the others go walking around. She accidentally ends up privy to a conversation between Louisa and Captain Wentworth where Louisa gives the captain an example of her sister being indecisive towards her old lover Charles Hayter, and the captain uses this as an example of what he most abhors. We will pick up in this private conversation. — read by 'V' — Sign up for Snoozecast+ to get expanded, ad-free access by going to snoozecast.com/plus! Learn more about your ad choices. For two whole months, he had been busy with his latest case, working over fifteen hours a day, and it had made him very tired and weak. As his doctor and closest friend, I told him he needed a break. It was April in the year 1887, and I thought a week of spring sunshine in the countryside would be good for him. My old friend Colonel Hayter had bought a house near Reigate in Surrey and had said we could visit anytime. This was the perfect time to accept his offer. Holmes, luckily, didn't need much convincing, and on the morning of April 25, we left our Baker Street home for Waterloo Station. By the middle of the afternoon, we had arrived at the colonel's house. After dinner, while Holmes rested on the sofa, the colonel showed me his collection of weapons from the Afghan War, where we had met. "By the way," he said suddenly, "I think I'll take one of these pistols upstairs with me tonight in case of a break-in." "A break-in?" I exclaimed. "Yes! We had an incident not far from here last Monday. Burglars broke into the house of a local businessman named Acton. They didn't do much damage, but the burglars are still free, and one can't be too careful." Holmes, who I thought was asleep, opened one eye. "Did they leave any clues?" he asked. "Not that I know of," said Hayter. "It was a very minor burglary, not worth your attention, Mr. Holmes. The thieves ransacked the library. They made a mess, breaking open drawers and pulling things off shelves. All they took was a book, two candlesticks, a paperweight, a small clock, and a ball of string." "What a strange mix of items!" I said. "They probably grabbed the first things they saw," said Hayter. "The local police should learn something from that list," Holmes said, sitting up straighter on the sofa. "To me, it seems clear that ..." I held up my hand. "You're here to rest, my friend. I don't want you getting involved in another problem right now." Holmes shrugged and sighed, and we changed the topic to something less serious. But my attempts to make this a relaxing trip failed because peaceful Reigate suddenly became a crime scene. The next morning, we were eating breakfast when Hayter's butler ran in looking very worried. "Have you heard the news, sir?" he gasped. "At the Cunninghams'?" "Another burglary?" asked the colonel, his coffee cup in mid-air. "Murder, sir!" The colonel whistled. "By Jove! Who was killed, the father or the son?" "Neither, sir. It was William, their coachman. Shot through the heart, sir." "Who shot him?" "The burglar, sir. Then he ran away and got away. He had just broken through the side door when William arrived and confronted him. William died trying to protect his master's property." "What time was this?" asked Hayter. "Around midnight, sir." "We'll visit this morning to offer our sympathies," said the colonel, sitting back down to his breakfast.

Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made" What We Loved about SSD: "The Vows We Have Made" We were incredibly impressed with this movie. Let's talk about the things that warmed our hearts: Beautifully Written Dialogue: The movie was wonderfully written, with many profound lines like "trust the timing" and poignant themes about holding on and letting go. Humor Amidst Tears: Even though the last 20 minutes were packed with tear-jerking moments, there were great light-hearted instances that provided the perfect balance. Character Development: Seeing characters like Sharon, Shane's mom, evolve was a joy. Her relationship with Oliver was emotionally compelling, especially when she offers to be the mother he deserved. Creative Problem-Solving: Martha Williamson's writing shines as Rita and Norman decide to help Charlie, a young mother. Instead of adopting her baby, they invite her to live with them. It's an unconventional but touching solution. Flashbacks: The flashbacks to previous episodes were not just nostalgic but added depth to the overall narrative, making this feel like a fitting wrap-up to the series. What We Wished For While we loved most of the movie, there were a couple of things we wished were different: Rita, Norman, and Charlie Triangle: The timeline here was a bit confusing. How long have Rita and Norman been trying to have a baby? And the idea of them taking in Charlie and her baby seemed rushed and unconventional. Shane's Sister: Shane's sister, who had a big part in a previous movie, didn't make an appearance, not even a mention.

In s3e60 of Platemark, podcast host Ann Shafer speaks with Ron Rumford, director of Dolan/Maxwell, a private gallery in Philadelphia. Dolan/Maxwell deals in 20th century art, with a particular specialty in the prints of Stanley William Hayter and the associated artists of Atelier 17, as well as Black artists of the same era, such as Bob Blackburn, Norma Morgan, Elizabeth Catlett, Ed Clark and more. While they could have spent the entire time talking about Hayter (they'll get to that in the History of Prints series), Ron wanted to highlight an exhibition focused on Dox Thrash, which is on view at the African American Museum of Philadelphia through August 4, 2024. They talk about Thrash and his invention of the carborundum mezzotint, Bob Blackburn's Printmaking Workshop and its relationship to Atelier 17 and Hayter, the monumental importance of the WPA printmaking division, and Ballinglen, an artist residency and gallery founded by Peter Maxwell and Margo Dolan in Ballycastle, a tiny farming town in County Mayo, Ireland. Before the fall (c.2600 - 2200 BCE). Early Egyptians were fierce and active warriors. Our evidence for the Old Kingdom “army,” however, is scattered and fragmentary. Sifting through the pieces, we can reconstruct some elements of the early armed forces. In this episode, we explore royal texts that describe campaigns; pyramid art showing battles and soldiers training; and even images of siege warfare… The History of Egypt Podcast: Website: www.egyptianhistorypodcast.com. Welcome everyone. As you will hear, I met Jim Hayter a few times by this point through my travels across the pond to Stoneleigh, as well as at the World Championships in Calgary. Each time he was accompanied by his son, George. As will become quite clear during the interview, Jim is quite proud of his son and all that he has accomplished. When you speak to George, the endearing thing is, that streak runs both ways. While I haven't had an opportunity to sit down and interview George, I foresee that happening the next time our paths cross. While Jim was quite busy with his duties as the judge for the apprentice teams, he still managed to whittle off a little bit of time for us to sit down and have this chat. It was a genuine pleasure to get to know this man a bit better. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did.
