A weekly conversation between friends.
Welcome back to Friday Junior everyone! I'm going to be honest with you here, I can't remember what we talked about in this one. Not a clue at all. I bet it was good though and I'll update this after I listen to it so if you're seeing this, congratulations. Enjoy!
Back from the grave baby! We've been gone for a while for technical reasons but we're back with a doozie. I mean this episode is almost an hour and a half of good old fashioned Friday Junior goodness. Sometimes when you let the genie out of the bottle he doesn't want to go back in. This episode we do our conversational meandering and then move on to checking out a list of Spotify's top 25 christmas songs. Buckle up, because there are some bizarre choices on there. Enjoy!
Winter is here baby. At least, it's almost here. It's cusping. You can see the cusp. That means that once again Evan is filled with a white-hot rage at mother nature that burns just hot enough for him to make it past February. We were also extra cranky in this episode because we didn't sleep well and we're both old as shit and simultaneously infants. Enjoy the episode and remember to keep that Michael Buble/Mariah Carey nonsense extremely far away from us.
Well well well, would you look at that. Friday Junior has officially made it to the first funny number of episodes. What a wild ride it's been, so grateful to everyone who has tuned in to listen to the two of us ramble about nothing. This episode we talk about game shows. haunted houses, and definitely a ton of other stuff as well. Enjoy!
We had a chat about the state of the show and we're going back to our roots. We weren't having as much fun trying to make episodes relevant or trying to keep up with trends. At the end of the day, we do this show to have fun. So we're back to just talking about whatever the hell we feel like, and this episode felt great. More than usual, we really hope you enjoy this one.
Welcome back to Friday Junior everybody, Wes was out sick last week so we didn't have an episode. We're back at our usual shenanigans again this week though. They're making a Mario movie and just throwing money at it so you know it's going to be terrible. Evan is excited about the new Sopranos movie that has extremely worrying reviews. Oh and also the USA is on the brink of collapse, but that's not really anything new so no worries. Enjoy!
This week's episode is a little different. The preceding week was a little slow so we decided to try out an idea we've had for a while now; talking about the OGs of Youtube and where they are now. What we failed to account for was that neither of us can keep their attention on a topic for more than like two minutes, so we got what turned out to be a pretty typical episode with a very loose Youtube theme. Enjoy!
Howdy folks, another healthy serving of Friday Junior is here, just in time for the weekend! We spent a good amount of time sharing our thoughts on the music that came out last week, and then we went down a rabbit hole searching for the debut album that Steve from Blue's Clues made. Turns out the them song for Young Sheldon is from that album, isn't that just completely bizarre? Enjoy!
This may be one of the most optimistic episodes of Friday Junior yet! We had a whole plan for a set topic but we realized there's just SO much music to talk about. There's big, exciting albums on the horizon and we're pumped to hear how they pan out. We hope you can share some of our excitement. Enjoy!
Another episode is in the books here. We chat about the new Spiderman trailer that Evan said would be dumb and then lost his shit over. The elephant in the room is the Kanye Drake beef possibly reigniting in the funniest possible way. As always though there's a lot of other good stuff in this episode so dive on in!
This week's episode we actually recorded over the weekend, allowing us to get comfortably sauced. As always we covered a variety of topics but this time we're really bringing that weekend feeling. Remember, it's just around the corner. Enjoy!
Full disclosure folks the sauce was hit relatively hard this week. We talked about the little delivery bots in Toronto, Rihanna the billionaire, and of course much, much more. It's always a good time here at Friday Junior so come start your weekend early!
Crazy new episode here where we talk about stuff. Very high concept. We've got stories from our week, we've got no Kanye album, we've got Dababy being cancelled, and we've got random Olympics facts to talk about. It's always fun recording together but this one was a blast so give it a listen. Enjoy!
He did it baby; Jeff Bezos went to space in a big dick rocket wearing a cowboy hat. He's really giving Elon a run for his money in the race to be Reddit's favourite except everybody hates him instead. We also cover the NBA finals, Space Jam 2, and the NHL expansion draft. Too bad the Kraken has already been released so nobody cares. Anyways we of course strayed off topic a couple times so buckle up 'cause we're all over the road on this one. Enjoy!
They boys are back with another episode talking about things that would make absolutely zero sense to anyone just waking up from a 10 year coma, including: The Tiny Football Car, an Olympics without an audience, and the ocean literally being set on fire. Later, the boys gush about their shared love for New Girl. It's about as all over the place as you can get but if you haven't noticed yet that's kind of our thing. Enjoy!
In this episode we interview local musician and longtime friend of ours, Conrad. He generously welcomed us into his studio to record so that's why the audio quality is so much better. We sat down and talked with him about his solo EP, cello posers, and a new single on the way from the band he's a member of. We're a little biased, but this was a good episode. Enjoy!
Welcome back folks, Wes and Evan were finally able to record IN PERSON once again! It took a little bit of adjusting to actually seeing each other's faces but once we settled in, this one was a lot of fun. We covered a couple of local topics like the fire in Kitchener, and why all the trees in the city are covered in tape. After that we took some time to discuss the endless suffering that comes with being a sports fan, and then moved on to the really insane stuff. John Mcafee died in prison and it's being called a suicide even though he explicitly said he wouldn't kill himself in prison. Then again, he was recently ordered to pay something like $4 million in court and is supposedly broke, so who knows. Also, how did we not know that Hunter Biden is absolutely unhinged? This guy dated his dead brothers widow for THREE YEARS and started dating her BEFORE he divorced his wife at the time. And did he try to buy a person? Absolute mayhem. Enjoy!
Welcome back to Friday Junior everyone! In this week's episode we're cautiously optimistic about the state of summer here in Waterloo. We have a big helping of weirdness for you in this one, including the recent Batman headlines and also the Westminster Dog show. Definitely some bad vibes from that dog show. Enjoy!
This episode was supposed to be about Wes's cross country road trip but as always we get sidetracked. Probably for the best anyway because that's just the way we thrive. I mean if you think about it, this whole podcast is really just all about getting sidetracked. Anyways, we're going to be changing up the show a little bit over the next few weeks so buckle up! Or don't. Either way, enjoy the ride.
Well folks, it's been a while. We're back today and shaking off the rust with a new episode. We talk about how UFOs might be real and how nobody seems to care for some reason. Of course, as the new queen of pop, Olivia Rodrigo and her new album SOUR join the discourse as well. Finally, we dive into the state of twitter these days and how different things in its early days. We really are digital boomers on this show.
Well folks, this one sure is an episode. It's a podcast from us, that we recorded, and have now released. We have some fun roundup topics to touch on as always. Anyways, please enjoy the show folks! Or don't honestly. Feel free to tweet us at @fridayjuniorpod and tell us how much you hate this episode if you want.
Like a Doug Ford press conference we're all over the place in this one folks. We do a quick weekly roundup on the Oscars and the new vaccine situation after getting heavily sidetracked by something small. The big focus of this episode is on the tunes we've been listening to since the pandemic started, so watch our twitter for a link to the playlist sometime soon. Enjoy!
The lads are back at it again, chatting it up in the studio. The virtual studio of course because we're still on opposite ends of the country. And also COVID. We talk about the Dogecoin pump and how bizarre the whole thing. Speaking of bizarre, we also cover the Jake Paul Ben Askren fight and the overall absurdity of that whole event. Finally we talk about how fucked up it is that Doug Ford is in charge of Ontario but doesn't know how to use a laptop. Seriously how can this guy run the province if he can't run quicktime.
One whole year of Friday Junior baby! The lads reminisce on the last year and the beginning of the show in particular. We both re-listened to episode one today and had to comment on a few things we mentioned. Like most episodes of Friday Junior, we're kind of all over the place so keep that in mind when you listen because it's not exactly seamless. For some reason we get bogged down in talking about the current COVID situation but don't worry, we end on a lighter note. Enjoy!
We have an experimental episode for you this week. Instead of picking some topics we kinda just hopped on Wikipedia and fucked around for a while. We did end up learning some interesting facts though and also found some pretty funny stuff. Happy friday junior everybody!
The boys attempt to navigate through yet another wacky week, which goes about as well as attempting to steer a massive container ship through the Suez Canal. Evan continues to have a wrestling match with the english language, this time with numbers. The fellas then try to make sense of the blinding rage that people seem to have with Lil Nas X giving the Devil a lap dance, like yeah sure Satan might be the embodiment of evil but even he has to let off some steam from time to time. Anyways enjoy!
Buckle up folks cause we're diving right in today. We have a quick (relatively speaking) weekly roundup, talking about springtime, sex2, and also a blatant Jordan Peele ripoff from amazon. Then we take our truly astounding intellects on the ride of their lives as our tiny monkey brains try to comprehend the power of NFTs. We really have to stress that this is for entertainment because we're even less knowledgeable about this topic than we usually are. You might still learn something but don't blame us if you do.
It really feels like the lads get grumpier with every episode. This week we gripe about the Grammys and just award shows in general, Barstool sports getting upset for all the wrong reasons, and on a more positive note; daylight savings time is here. We've got the scoop for you that the government doesn't want you to hear. Anyways we hope you enjoy it.
The lads get really fired up over this one. It's not even so much a weekly roundup as a daily roundup since all of our events happened on International Women's Day. The Burger King disaster was a great example of guerilla marketing gone wrong. Meghan Markle let the world know that the royal family is a disaster of its own, which shouldn't surprise anyone. Also Papa John is still out there being an absolute lunatic. Just an absolutely insane person with nothing to lose. Finally, there is a light shining at the end of the tunnel for the pandemic. Tunnel still looks long as hell though eh?
This one's a doozy folks. Dr. Seuss's publisher decided to drop some books from active duty and it's causing an internet meltdown, to nobodies surprise. Also, people are upset about Lola Bunny being "unsexified" if that's a word (which it's not). The dirty liberals won't allow us to be horny for cartoon rabbits anymore. We also discuss the craziness that went down around Lady Gaga's dogs being stolen. We're glad everyone is okay but also it was such a bizarre situation we had to talk about it. Finally, we give you a rundown on new music coming out tomorrow, including Evan's number one favourite artist; Drake. Also we offer up our opinions on the GOAT rapper debate since that's something everyone probably wants from two suburban white guys with a podcast. Enjoy!
Well folks, as always it was fun to record this week. What's new this week? Some Texans think the snow that knocked out their power and killed people is fake because it doesn't melt over a bic lighter, Obama has a podcast with Bruce Springsteen, and Daft Punk announced their retirement the same day Bobby Shmurda was released. Crazy! Also Rush Limbaugh died. Much more importantly though, Evan pronounced a word wrong again.
Wes is back baby. We have fun with the weekly roundup talking about snow in Texas, Ontario reopening, and Marty Scorsese going sicko mode on Marvel nerds once again. That last one really gets Evan going so we chat about that for a bit. Then we round out with a little discussion about the divide between Gen Z and Millennials which we weren't really aware of until Evan got roasted by his cousins. Also we're like right on the line between the generations so it feels like we might just be Switzerland in this debate but apparently we're old men now so who knows.
In this one, Evan attempts to navigate through hosting a podcast without the soothing sounds of Wes' radio voice. Our good pal Omar returns as cohost coming off the heels of yet another big song release from his project BUD. We discuss how Spotify is the superior streaming service, Phoebe Bridgers vs twitter incels, and what Omar has cooking in the stu for the future. Enjoy!
We have a fun one today. We break down the crashing and subsequent burning of Tony Deangelo's career because it's absolutely hilarious. Also Elon Musk is a mad scientist who put a microchip in a monkey's brain so he can play video games and that's somehow just like regular news for him. It's not even the weirdest thing he's done, isn't that fucked up? Like he put a little computer inside a living thing so it can play pong in his laboratory and that's like, just a tuesday for him. What a weird life. Anyways we talk about the golden globes too because we just like being angry. Enjoy!
Okay so this one is super late. We were going to call it Friday Senior and put it out on Friday but then Wes messed up so it's coming out on a Saturday. So we're calling it Freya because that's where the word Friday comes from so if anything is more Senior than Friday it's Freya. Anyways this episode is mostly weekly roundup but we also talk for a few minutes about movies. Next week's episode is going to be a good one so stay tuned!
We have a colossal announcement to make today; Nut House Media launches today! To celebrate the launch we had the fellas from The Pond and Sent Off Soccer on the show to shoot the shit. We probably could've talked a bit more about the individual shows but we were just having too much fun recording. The vibes on this episode are immaculate, I can almost guarantee that you'll laugh at this one. Also, we would love for you to check out our new website at https://www.nuthousemedia.ca
We got carried away with the weekly roundup folks. I mean really carried away, we meant to have a whole episode about online school with a short roundup but this episode is all roundup. If you don't like it then square up. We talk hockey, basketball, and lil Trumpys second impeachment. It's good, easy listening for sure.
We have another episode here that's almost entirely weekly roundup stuff. To be fair though there was a lot to go through. We have some typical Friday Junior grade nonsense, but there's also some more serious topics to cover. I'm sure you know what we're talking about here. We're not exactly your first stop for hard hitting news so we don't go too in depth but hey, it had to be mentioned. Anyways, enjoy your week!
Topics for this weeks roundup include the KFConsole, Gucci Mane's son, and the news that Kobe was planning to start his own sneaker brand. The main goal of this episode was to make a new years episode where we shared our resolutions and stories of past new years eves. Old habits die hard though and we got super sidetracked talking about the wild ride this year has been. Hope you're all doing well out there, and have a happy new year from us here at Friday Junior!
Happy Friday eve everyone! This week features a short weekly roundup before we dive right in to Christmas content. This right here is the very first Friday Junior Christmas special. We talk Christmas music and movies and the holiday traditions associated with them. The egg nog debate is left open pending Evan trying it with rum. As always we hope you enjoy this one!
Another installment of the new and improved Friday Junior is here folks. The weekly roundup is getting faster, only half an hour this time! We go over that Tom Cruise audio clip floating around, some Marvel/Disney shenanigans and more. The meat of this episode is Evan ranting about his disappointment over Cyberpunk. Personally, I think Cyberjunk would be a better name than Cyberflunk but I let Evan pick this one. Finally, we have another new segment this episode that we're calling "Can't be real" where we talk about stuff that just can't be real but is. If you're interested in learning more about Cloudflare, the company that uses all sorts of wacky James Bond villain contraptions for cyber security, here's a quick link: https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/learning/ssl/lava-lamp-encryption/
We're back baby! We apologize that our weekly roundup took the entire episode. We're just trying to mix things up a bit to keep the show entertaining and engaging. We cover a range of topics, from Post Malone's possible grade addiction to the newly revealed Galactic Federation of aliens who think humans are dumb. They're not wrong, but it still feels a little condescending. As always, we hope you enjoy this weeks episode and please stay tuned for a big announcement coming soon!
In this episode we take a real critical look at the current scientific literature surrounding the novel coronavirus COVID-19. Sike, we just kinda bitch and moan about the virus, the weather, and the overall train wreck that this year has been. The takeaway here is to look on the bright side though. It's been a tough year and for some more than others, but there's always something you can do to make life a little better for you and those around you.
Back on the rolling stones list baby and we're starting to recognize more and more of the albums. I mean really the last 10-15 minutes is all spent talking about one Daft Punk album but yeah it's a good one. We had a great time recording this one and we really hope you enjoy listening in. I can't really elaborate much more without giving stuff away. Anyways, enjoy!
So we fully expected to have todays episode be all about the @awfulreddit twitter account. We just got super uncomfortable with the truly awful shit on there and ended up veering in another direction. We talk trading cards and collectibles and try to understand why people like funko pops. We also have a look at the official TC tuggers website and find a petition on change.org that really makes you wonder why the website was created in the first place. Friday Junior in the morning baby.
In this episode we are truly unhinged in the way that we jump from subject to subject. Like some of this stuff is not related at all but we flit from one to the other with basically no connections or segues. This is how we operate though and we really hope you guys enjoy this one. Also we were hoping the election would be done by the time we recorded but we ran out of time for that so here it is.
It's finally here; the sandwich episode! Evan gives us the inside scoop on one of the worst sandwiches ever envisioned. We discuss all sorts of sandwich related things before getting in our most heated debate yet over shepherds pie. Evan is wrong on this one.
It's the dog episode baby. We were attempting to just catch up on what's new with each other, but very quickly it turned into the two of us swapping dog stories. Also we both had/have a dog named Max so it gets a bit confusing. In the end, I think everyone will have to agree that dogs are very strange little creatures, but maybe that's why we love them so much. Let me warn you in advance though, Evan didn't do his signature "bye bye" signoff for this episode which is pretty fucked up. Make sure you write to him and complain.
We're back with some more of the rolling stones top 500 albums list. We only managed to get through 50 this time though because Evan spent like twenty minutes absolutely shitting on Taylor Swift's 1989 and another ten simping for Rush. There are some very solid albums in here and we can only assume that soon enough even Wes will recognize some of them.
We can't believe Donny came down with COVID and "beat it" in between our recording sessions, giving us no chance to report on it. Real shame on that one. This is another episode where we talk a lot about food folks. Wes is a food snob and Evan finds that hilarious as we explore the infamous Milestones incident. Also towards the end we just tear into Burger King without provocation because those guys seriously suck ass. I mean your expectations are low going there and they still disappoint. And remember when that guy got fired for putting his feet in the lettuce there?
This week we get our minds right with an in-depth look at the most high-powered entrepreneurial advice accounts on Instagram. If they don't have "income" in the name I don't want it! Also, the Kardashians I guess. Why not. We got weirdly more serious here than we meant to but there's still a lot of laughs. And remember, go read a book you absolute dum-dum.
