When your entire competitive season hinges on making semifinals cutlines, what's stopping you from giving everything you've got? In this no-holds-barred analysis of CrossFit Open 25.2, the Misfit Athletics coaches dive deep into the psychology behind workout redos and the disconnect many athletes experience between their stated goals and their actions.Through real examples from the Misfit community, we explore how seemingly small decisions—like whether to redo a workout when you're hovering near qualification cutoffs—reveal profound truths about competitive mindset. As one coach bluntly puts it: "If your goal is to qualify for semi-finals and you are potentially on the fringe with a workout to go, why would you ever leave that to chance?" This episode isn't just about workout strategy; it's about honest self-assessment and ensuring your behaviors align with your ambitions. The episode features detailed performance analysis comparing the 2022 version of this workout with this year's results, showing modest improvements at all levels of the leaderboard. We celebrate standout performances from Brandon True, Paige Semenza, and Jack Strum while providing actionable insights for athletes of all levels. Perhaps most valuable is the discussion of what makes 25.2 such an excellent benchmark—accessible enough for everyone to participate while clearly demonstrating the enormous gap between everyday athletes and elite performers.Looking ahead to 25.3, we discuss the leaked workout format potentially featuring rowing, wall walks, and deadlifts, examining the strategic implications and addressing concerns about competitive integrity when workouts leak early. Whether you're gunning for semifinals or simply trying to surpass your personal goals, this episode delivers the perfect blend of technical analysis, psychological insight, and competitive wisdom to help you finish the Open strong.Ready to take your training to the next level? I could not be more excited to continue our big week of programming with the fantastic Molly Fletcher, who is a podcaster, entrepreneur, speaker, and former sports agent, described as “the female Jerry Maguire” by CNN and ESPN. She is also the founder of The Molly Fletcher Company and, when she was working as a sports agent, she represented athletes, coaches, and broadcasters ranging from Tom Izzo to Doc Rivers, Erin Andrews, Billy Donovan, Joe Theismann, and more. She is a former athlete herself, having played varsity tennis at Michigan State. Molly was one of the first female sports agents, and during her almost two-decade career, she negotiated over $500 million in contracts and represented over 300 of sports' biggest names, including the aforementioned. These days, she's one of the most booked female speakers globally, and her TED Talk “Secrets of a Champion Mindset” has more than 1 million views. Her work has been featured everywhere from InStyle to Sports Illustrated, Forbes, Fast Company, CNN, and ESPN, and her latest book, Dynamic Drive, is a No. 1 USA Today national bestseller. Speaking of, today we're chatting with Molly about her book Dynamic Drive: The Purpose-Fueled Formula for Sustainable Success, which came out last September 3; she's also written a number of other books, including 2011's The Business of Being the Best: Inside the World of Go-Getters and Game Changers, 2013's The 5 Best Tools to Find Your Dream Career, 2014's A Winner's Guide to Negotiating: How Conversation Gets Deals Done, 2017's Fearless at Work, and 2020's The Energy Clock: 3 Simple Steps to Create a Life Full of Energy — and Live Your Best Every Day. Molly also hosts one of my favorite podcasts, Game Changers, which I can't get enough of. Dynamic Drive is Molly's latest work, and today on the show we talk about what dynamic drive is and how its heartbeat is purpose; she shares seven keys to unlock our dynamic drive, and she talks to us about how we are in a complacency epidemic and how to step out of our comfort zone and into our stretch zones. We also talk about, as the subtitle alludes to, sustainable success — not a quick fix, momentary, flash in the pan success, but success that lasts and lasts. Success to Molly is about so much more than achieving a goal or checking a box — it's about who we become as people in the process. I enjoyed learning from her so much. Kerri Walsh Jennings: Embrace Imperfection, Overcome Challenges, and Inspire the Next Generation to Achieve the Champion Mindset

Living in a cycle of self-criticism and perfectionism is draining, making it feel like nothing is ever enough. The pressure to meet unrealistic standards often hides the progress you've made. Focusing on flaws instead of strengths leaves no space for self-compassion. Freedom comes from realizing imperfection isn't failure—it's a natural part of growth. Appreciating your effort can be just as meaningful as achieving the perfect result. Kerri Walsh Jennings is a legendary volleyball player, having won three Olympic gold medals, and a highly sought-after speaker and mentor. Today, Kerri shares her story of embracing imperfection and harnessing her potential. She also offers insights on getting through negative environments and inspiring the next generation of athletes and leaders. Join in as young leaders pose inquiries about life, personal development, and beyond! Quotes: “Our potential is always there for us to reach, which is beautiful.” – Kerri Walsh Jennings “If we want it badly enough, we'll go get it. But oftentimes we get stuck and think, ‘Oh man, I'm embarrassed, I'm ashamed,' and the longer we do that, the longer we're just stuck.” – Kerri Walsh Jennings “The way I perceive what I'm going through is going to dictate my experience. Because everything that we're presented with, whether it's failure or success, is neutral, but what meaning we give to it is what it's going to be.” – Kerri Walsh Jennings “It's just a shift in the story that we tell ourselves. That's the mindset. It's the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, to ourselves, and we've got the power to change that at any time.” – Matt Beaudreau Takeaways: Practice reframing anxiety as excitement by using breathing techniques and positive self-talk. Commit to consistent self-improvement by identifying your weaknesses but avoid self-criticism. Be willing to look foolish in pursuit of your goals. Cultivate a support network of positive, inspiring people. Surround yourself with those who will challenge you to be your best self, rather than those who bring you down. Take intentional breaks and explore new interests to renew your spirit and gain fresh perspective. Avoid the pressure of year-round specialization in your craft. Lead by example and embody the values you want to see in others. Focus on your own development first, and inspire the next generation through your authentic, consistent actions. Conclusion: Leading by example and taking intentional breaks can inspire others, especially the next generation. By focusing on personal growth and staying authentic, you show the value of balance in overcoming challenges. This approach promotes self-improvement while encouraging others to realize their potential. True leadership lies in living in a way that motivates those around you to grow and succeed.

The Will To Win with Mike Keenan The Outer Limits of Inner Truth proudly presents an introspective interview with legendary NHL coach, Mike Keenan - author of the new book "Iron Mike: My Life Behind the Bench." In the NHL, Keenan took Philadelphia (twice) and Chicago to the Stanley Cup final before he led the New York Rangers to the title. Along the way, he led Team Canada to two Canada Cup victories, and later in his career won a Kontinental Hockey League championship in Magnitogorsk, Russia. Mike Keenan coached some of the greatest stars in hockey and is remembered as one of the game's most colorful personalities and greatest coaches. Book Link: Some questions we ask Mr. Keenan include: With the sense of urgency to win, how were you able to maximize your team's successes in the short term and yet, also give them the best chances for success in the long term? What was your most painful personal setback and what was your most painful professional set back? What did you learn from both experiences and how did both experiences permanently change your perception on life & coaching? Most people fail. Most people never fulfill their potential and even fewer people than that become legends in their own time. Do you think a champion mindset is actually mental disorder? Do you think that it is strange to believe & know that you can achieve the unachievable when so many are willing to embrace mediocrity? About Mike Keenan Mike Keenan is one of the most successful coaches ever. He began his hockey coaching career at Forest Hill Collegiate in Toronto, and his star ascended rapidly. He won an Ontario championship in junior with Peterborough, a Canadian university championship with the University of Toronto, and a Calder Cup in the AHL with Rochester. In the NHL, he took Philadelphia (twice) and Chicago to the Stanley Cup final before he led the New York Rangers to the title. Along the way, he led Team Canada to two Canada Cup victories, and later in his career won a Kontinental Hockey League championship in Magnitogorsk, Russia.
