In today's episode we talk about sport after pregnancy. Inspired by Chelsea Sodaro's win at the IM World Championships in 2022, I interviewed a few of my athletes who had kids and asked them to share their stories. They are amateur athletes and share their stories and tips about starting sport again after having children. First we have Mandy, who completed many trail running events including Sierre Zinal. Second we have Orla who also competed in trail running. Third we have Louise, who completed her first Ironman after giving birth 18 months prior. Louise's achievement is one of my proudest moment as a coach. Part 1 is in English. Part 2 is in French. Enjoy, and many thanks for listening!
Maddie is back on the show and tells us everything about her first race back in Europe after winning the Zwift Academy. Best to watch this episode on video format. Thanks for listening! Ride on. #cycling #roadcycling

Testing is a key part of your cycling journey. Today Maayke undergoes a full cycling assessment with different tests to determine her cycling profile, strength and weaknesses, and find out her correct training zones. Why do we test in cycling? Determine current fitness Find strength and weaknesses Determine cycling profile, which can lead to specific event selection Determine power curve Set a benchmark Determine your training zones Track progress over time How do we test? Tests can be done both outdoors and indoors. We did the following tests: Ramp test (ERG mode on Zwift) 10s all out effort 1min all out effort 5min all out effort 20min all out effort Z2 test What do we do with the results? Now that we know your cycling profile and power zones we can determine very precise training zones, from sprinting to endurance zones, and also pick certain events that suit your strengths. Train your weaknesses and race your strengths! We hope you enjoy the show and look forward to hear from you if you have gone through such tests and please share your results ! Sports addiction is a very serious issue that can have dramatic consequences. Today we try to explain what exercise or sports addiction is, and how you can identify it. We are by no means doctors, but we try to point out some of the symptoms and try to understand how to differentiate between the regular and healthy practice of sports and the unhealthy side of the addiction. It's a pretty heavy topic but something we felt we needed to cover. The more awareness there is on this topic the better, as one of the first steps to recognise an addiction is awareness of the addiction, and then it's to open up and reaching help. Are you addicted? Test yourself with the HUG's brilliant online questionnaire : https://addictohug.ch/testez-vous/sport/ If you or someone you know might suffer from sports addiction, reach out for help and contact your doctor or a psychologist.
