Willkommen zu einer neuen Episode unseres Podcasts! Heute sprechen wir über ein Thema, das für viele Age Group Athleten besonders interessant ist: Strava. Wir werden uns damit beschäftigen, welche Rolle Strava für uns spielt, warum es für Age Group Athleten wichtig ist, hin und wieder auf der Plattform vorbeizuschauen und vielleicht sogar den ein oder anderen KOM (King of the Mountain) zu sammeln. Denn, wie viele wissen, geht es bei Strava nicht nur um das Sammeln von Kilometern – es gibt noch viele weitere Aspekte, die die Plattform so wertvoll machen. Warum ist es wichtig, hin und wieder auf Strava zu stöbern? Motivation und Inspiration: Ein großer Vorteil von Strava ist, dass man durch das Stöbern in den Aktivitäten von anderen Athleten inspiriert wird. Wenn du siehst, wie andere Athleten ihre Leistungen steigern, neue Bestzeiten aufstellen oder neue Strecken ausprobieren, kann das unglaublich motivierend wirken. Es zeigt dir, dass immer noch Raum für Verbesserungen und Herausforderungen ist. Vergleich mit anderen: Strava ermöglicht es dir, deine eigene Leistung mit anderen Athleten zu vergleichen, sei es in deiner Altersgruppe, in deiner Region oder weltweit. Dieser Vergleich ist nicht nur für die Leistungsbewertung wichtig, sondern auch für die Zielsetzung. Vielleicht hast du in einer bestimmten Strecke ein paar Sekunden schneller als deine letzte Zeit geschafft. Diese kleine Verbesserung kann dir einen riesigen Motivationsschub geben, um deine nächste Leistung weiter zu steigern. Die Community erleben: Strava ist nicht nur ein Ort, um deine Leistungen zu posten. Es ist auch eine Plattform, auf der du mit anderen in Kontakt treten kannst. Ob durch das Kommentieren von Aktivitäten, das Liken von Leistungen oder das Beitreten zu Strava Clubs – es gibt viele Möglichkeiten, sich mit anderen Athleten auszutauschen und zu vernetzen. Karen and Donna Smyers have made triathlon history again and again, and we are excited to welcome them to TBL!     Karen Smyers, a professional triathlete for 26 years, has won the Ironman World Championship four times, as well as several other championship titles, including ITU, National Pro Champ, and Pan American Championships. Donna Smyers, currently the Super Sprint World Champion, set the IM Lake Placid Bike Course Record in 2000, was the USAT Triathlon Olympic Age Group National Champion 5 x and USA Triathlon Sprint  Age Group National Champion in 2023, and won the IM World Champion Age Group 1st place in Kona, among other achievements.   It's clear that they were born to be champions! They began their triathlon journeys in the 1980s and witnessed many changes in the sport, from gear to nutrition. However, one thing remains the same: we still have the opportunity to tri.    The Smyer sisters are the only siblings inducted into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame. Karen won championships as a professional, and Donna as an Age Grouper. This episode is a must-listen, and we are honored to have them join us!
