It's never easy when your decisions are made for you, is it? The truth is - I didn't see it coming. And the other truth is - I wouldn't change a thing when all is said and done. This episode will be the final chapter, in getting you up to speed on where I am at, before digging into the true behind the scenes of building a 6 and 7 figure business. This is the chapter on how it all went down, when my company decided to move away from the mlm format and go direct to customer. In turn, eliminating everything that it had taken me 8 years to build. I spent over 8 years with Stella & Dot. I went from someone who had zero interest in building a business, to someone who replaced her full time teaching income to become a full-time entrepreneur. And there was a lot of life that happened in the middle of that, but I thought I would pull out some of the biggest lessons that I learned over the course of those 8 years: People are going to disappoint you, and that means nothing about you or your business. If you don't know what you're doing - you can build a business by chasing the carrots. Success on the outside, looked a whole lot like burnout on the inside A strong work ethic, will be the biggest determinant of your success. It's not one thing that you do, that builds your business. It's the accumulation of everything you do, plus the fact that you keep doing them over and over again. The hardest part about building a business, is trusting that it is working - even when it feels like it's not. The biggest obstacle that you ever face, will always be yourself. If someone else can do it, I can too. I will always be grateful for my time with Stella & Dot. It took me through 3 babies in diapers, to a life changing car accident that stripped me of my career. It taught me how incredible this industry can be, took me on multiple all expenses paid vacations and really opened my eyes to what our family life looks like when I work from home. But here's the thing - Not everything is meant to be forever. There will be times when life shifts and we need to learn how to pivot with it. To take what we need from one chapter, with us into the next. And in the next chapter, I will share exactly how I did that, when Stella & Dot decided to close out their Network Marketing business model, and go direct to consumer. I cannot wait to take you behind the scenes this year, as I literally build a business from the ground up. It wasn't in my plans - starting from scratch. As we close out one year, and get ready for the next - I thought it would be fun to end Season 4 (how is it even possible that there are already 4 seasons?!) of the Podcast, with what 2022 has taught me. Here's an overview: Sometimes change can be good. Sometimes when a door slams in your face, it's only because you are supposed to look for a window. Always follow your energy. Sometimes you need to do a lot of things, so that you can decide what you truly want to do. Know your priorities, keep them at the forefront. You truly never know what is around the corner. Life can change in an instant. The people and the experiences in your life are the most important. Make sure you never lose sight of that. Content & community are the foundation of your business. It takes time to build the systems, but it is always worth it. Be intentional with who you invite into your energy/world. I go deep on each of these inside this episode. So, here's the thing - It's not about WHO you are in the moments when you're winning, but it's about WHO you are and how you move forward in the moments when you lose. I ended last month with the hopes of a pretty big promo in my company …and if I'm being honest, most of the goals (even the audacious ones) that I have gone for - I have achieved. And because I didn't understand something correctly, and was given incorrect info - I didn't reach this one. So the next day …all of the feelings set in. And I had to ask myself …what comes next? It is so much easier to take care of the customers you have, than it is to acquire new ones. And sometimes I think we forget this. We get on the hamster wheel of doing parties and vendor events and reach outs …always thinking - new, new, new. When there is already a lot of low dangling fruit inside of the customer base that is already established. So! This episode is going to dig into some of my ideas around taking amazing care of your current customer base, in an effort to pull in those repeat orders. In an interview with Whitney Hoefer, an Online Business Manager for Network Marketers - we learn the top 5 systems that every single NWM'er needs to have in place.

Are you playing the long or the short game in your business? I often compare growing a business, to growing a garden. You never truly know what will sprout. It takes a lot of love, attention and nurturing. And sometimes you'll need to evaluate and rework some things. And here's the thing - some of what you do will be short game stuff …running promotions/sales, doing reach outs, etc. But a lot of what you should be doing, is with your long term plan in mind. Knowing that the more seeds you plant, the better you are at watering - the more beautiful (and aligned with your overall vision) your garden will be one day. It's not just about what's happening today, it's about what you're building for tomorrow.

I asked the question the other week - “If I was to look at your personal FB profile, how long would it take me to see your business? How about a picture of you?” The responses were varied and I think this is a topic we should dig into! I know for me - I shied away from sharing on my personal platform for a really long time. I wasn't sure how to integrate my business, I didn't want to alienate friends & family and if I'm being honest …I was overthinking the crap out of it. Anyone else?

This is a hot topic in my world these days, so let's break it down: Here are 3 reasons that your FB VIP Group, may be dead. You aren't being consistent. You want to be posting 4-5 times, throughout the day …5 days/week. And yes, I can hear you gasp from here. Ha. But trust me, it's the secret sauce. You aren't growing your group. You want to be adding at least 10 new customers/clients per month, that are inside your target market. Growth is key, because it brings in new energy. Your content is either too salesy, or not salesy enough. I know this sounds a bit cryptic - but many times people live inside the engaging content (Netflix recommendations, coffee chats, etc) and forget to actively sell. Or alternatively, they lean on only product content, and don't bring pieces of themselves in. And those are the ONLY things that are standing between you and an incredible FB Group, full of active and engaged customers.

In this episode I am actually talking about the very first incentive (in this case, a company trip) that I didn't go for. Why I made the decision, how it felt and the ultimate purpose behind the choice. Always remember that your business is a choice. You get to choose how you build, where you build - all. the. things. I think sometimes we lose sight of this, as we charge towards every single carrot that is dangled. At least I know I did. And for me it led to burnout. What I teach women to do is build in a way that is sustainable around the life that they desire to build. This is less about chasing every single thing that comes your way, and more about playing the long game - and building a business that you'll have for life. Don't worry, this episode is not going to be all doom and gloom, like the title might suggest! We need to learn to let it go and move on. To determine if the failure is a result of fear or truth. Because that will help us to determine how we handle the situation – do we have to do the work that it takes to let go of the fears OR acknowledge when we just need to pivot to something else.
