Will the Supreme Court expand presidential powers once again? In an excerpt from this week's Insider episode, Preet Bharara and Joyce Vance break down the oral arguments before the Court over President Trump's tariff policy — specifically, how much power a president has to levy tariffs under emergency-powers laws. In the full episode, Preet and Joyce discuss: – The wave of subpoenas issued to Trump's political opponents by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida that could result in criminal charges alleging a “grand conspiracy” against the president; and – The Justice Department's response to former FBI Director Jim Comey's motions to dismiss the criminal case against him. Rob sits down with longtime coach and mentor Dean Jaderston to unpack the transitions that shaped his career—from Minnesota high schools to college men's hoops, and eventually to leading women at Friends University. Dean lays out a clear contrast between coaching men and women, why the collective psyche matters on women's teams, how to move from managing to leading, and what it takes to stay steady in a public, always-on era. Faith, patience, and the willingness to play the long game thread through the whole conversation.Key ThemesTransitions that grow you: High school → college; men → women; what Dean “didn't know he didn't know” about recruiting and preparation.Coachability & confidence: With men, puncturing overconfidence; with women, raising ceilings and naming their potential. The collective effect: Public praise/critique lands differently on women's teams—use “we/us” language and handle most individual feedback 1:1.Lead, don't just manage: Dean's “one big rule”—you either bless people or curse people; hold to that and cut the bloated rulebook.Faith as framework: Total-release effort as worship; coach the whole person—spiritually, emotionally, psychologically.Reality of the job: Life and coaching are messy; don't overreact, don't take it personally, watch actions over words, and keep vision front and center.Listening builds buy-in: Seek first to understand; today's athletes spot inauthenticity fast.Vision sustains: The Hartman Arena story—nobody believed it early; vision made the work coherent.Notable Moments00:15 – Why Rob almost changed jobs just to learn from Dean01:36 – High school → college: “I didn't know what I didn't know” (recruiting, prep)06:00 – When talent stalls: the cost of being uncoachable06:33 – Men vs. women: confidence gaps and ceilings08:52 – Language shift: use “we/us”; keep praise/critique mostly individual10:49 – Why schemes/X&O often matter more in the women's game11:58 – Teaching bug: chasing light-bulb moments and durable confidence14:35 – Faith, “audience of One,” and coaching the whole person20:17 – Coaching in the information age: echo chambers and public scrutiny21:18 – From rules to leadership: Dean's single standard (“bless vs. curse”)23:13 – Adapt the system to the roster you actually have24:04 – Listening as strategy for buy-in26:00 – Hope and vision: conditioning with the end in mind30:26 – Don't take it personal; judge actions over words31:02 – Playing the long game when your job feels year-to-year33:44 – Embrace the mess; prepare for age-appropriate, inappropriate moments35:25 – Rapid fire: books, failures, definitions of success, habitsRapid-Fire ReferencesBooks mentioned: Coach K's leadership book (annual reread); Frosty Westering's Make the Big Time Where You Are (ethos: maximize what you have, where you are).Podcast: Better Questions by Matt Davis.Definition of success: Help people see and seize their potential—spiritually, academically, emotionally, athletically.Practical TakeawaysShrink the rulebook. Hold a single, culture-defining standard and enforce it consistently.Reframe confidence. With men, calibrate realism; with women, remove ceilings.Mind the locker room dynamics. Public praise/critique has second-order effects on women's teams—coach individuals individually.Lead with listening. Credibility follows curiosity and presence.Keep vision visible. Name the destination daily so effort has context.Don't chase validation. If behavior changes, let that be the win.Check out more of our stuff (and sign up to get a free resource) at impactfulcoachingproject.com.

On a new episode of Stay Tuned, Pulitzer Prize–winning investigative reporters Carol Leonnig and Aaron Davis join Preet Bharara to discuss their new book, Injustice: How Politics and Fear Vanquished America's Justice Department. When Erik Wissig recalls his early years as a founder, one moment still stands out. The team had met its growth goals and earned their bonuses—but the company's cash flow hadn't caught up. “You need the cash to make those payments,” he tells us. That hard-won lesson reshaped how Wissig approached finance from that day forward: plan ahead, balance ambition with liquidity, and bring the wider leadership team into that awareness. Before that turning point, Wissig had spent a decade in investment banking, advising hundreds of middle-market companies on transactions. Eventually, the advisor wanted to build. In 2013, he co-founded Hixme to give employers a new way to fund individual health insurance—an idea born from the Affordable Care Act's reshaping of the market. When regulatory realities slowed progress, Wissig stayed the course. Hixme's platform and team were acquired by SureCo in 2020, where he now serves as CFO and COO.At SureCo, Wissig's banking discipline meets an operator's pragmatism. He focuses on two levers—raising revenue per customer and scaling efficiencies—and on hiring into his weaknesses, surrounding himself with strong CPAs. His leadership style mirrors his philosophy on failure: persistence is progress. “If the game is still being played, then you haven't failed,” he tells us.Twelve years into his pursuit of the ICHRA model, Wissig remains motivated by one conviction: lasting change in healthcare begins by putting individuals—not institutions—at the center of the system.
Jon Herold records a special preflight edition of The Daily Herold before heading to Cocoa Beach for GART 10, taking aim at the latest election “results” and the narratives being spun around them. From a Democratic sweep in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia to Vivek Ramaswamy's tone-deaf postmortem on GOP strategy, Jon argues that none of it matters in a rigged system. He breaks down how the regime fabricates consensus, manipulates optics, and uses false rebukes of Trump to shape public perception before 2026. The conversation turns to Trump's Truth Social posts calling for the end of the filibuster and warning that the Supreme Court's tariff ruling is “life or death” for the nation. Jon challenges those ideas head-on, questioning why Trump would rely on an illegitimate Senate or SCOTUS when he already holds the constitutional power to act. From info-war fatigue to Trump's “psyop loops,” Jon delivers a raw and honest reflection on faith, frustration, and the fight for reality in a country still asleep at the wheel.
In this episode of The Long Game Podcast, Alex Birkett interviews Noah Greenberg, CEO of Stacker, a content distribution platform that helps brands turn owned content into earned media. They dive into the paradigm shift from SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and how brands can optimize for visibility in AI-powered interfaces like ChatGPT and Gemini. Noah shares how earned media, brand mentions, and distribution at scale are becoming the new backlinks, and how the lines between PR, content, and SEO are blurring. From Google's disappearing traffic to ChatGPT's probabilistic answers, this is a deep dive into the future of organic visibility and media strategy in the AI era.Key TakeawaysSEO Is Evolving into GEO: The goal is no longer just ranking on Google—it's being cited and surfaced in AI-powered responses.Earned Media Drives AI Visibility: PR, brand mentions, and syndicated content now influence whether LLMs cite your brand.Distribution Increases Surface Area: Publishing content broadly boosts the probability of being included in AI-generated answers.PR Is Cool Again: The rise of AI search has revived interest in press releases and third-party citations as visibility tools.SEO, Content, and PR Must Merge: Teams need to collaborate across departments to drive brand visibility in AI environments.Impact Is Visible—Fast: A single article syndicated through Stacker can be cited in AI search results within 24 hours.Measurement Models Are Changing: Traditional KPIs like backlinks and traffic are giving way to visibility, trust, and AI mentions.Founders Should Think Like Media Companies: Being the source of truth—and distributing it widely—is key to staying top-of-mind.Show LinksConnect with Noah Greenberg on LinkedInConnect with Alex Birkett on LinkedIn and TwitterConnect with Omniscient Digital on LinkedIn or TwitterPast guests on The Long Game podcast include: Morgan Brown (Shopify), Ryan Law (Animalz), Dan Shure (Evolving SEO), Kaleigh Moore (freelancer), Eric Siu (Clickflow), Peep Laja (CXL), Chelsea Castle (Chili Piper), Tracey Wallace (Klaviyo), Tim Soulo (Ahrefs), Ryan McReady (Reforge), and many more. Some interviews you might enjoy and learn from:Actionable Tips and Secrets to SEO Strategy with Dan Shure (Evolving SEO)Building Competitive Marketing Content with Sam Chapman (Aprimo)How to Build the Right Data Workflow with Blake Burch (Shipyard)Data-Driven Thought Leadership with Alicia Johnston (Sprout Social)Purpose-Driven Leadership & Building a Content Team with Ty Magnin (UiPath)Also, check out our Kitchen Side series where we take you behind the scenes to see how the sausage is made at our agency:Blue Ocean vs Red Ocean SEOShould You Hire Writers or Subject Matter Experts? How Do Growth and Content Overlap?Connect with Omniscient Digital on social:Twitter: @beomniscientLinkedin: Be OmniscientListen to more episodes of The Long Game podcast here: https://beomniscient.com/podcast/

Are you chasing wealth — or are you building it?Welcome! In this episode we dig into why wealth is a long-game, not a quick win, and how the daily little decisions you make shape your financial future more than flashy one-time purchases. Drawing on the insights of Morgan Housel's work and the idea of internal vs external benchmarks, we'll explore how to spend (and save) consciously, avoid common traps, and build a life that truly supports you. Many of us fall into the trap of trying to impress others — the bigger house, the luxury car, the Instagram-worthy vacation. These external benchmarks may give brief excitement, but often they are expensive, drain our savings, and don't deliver the long-term happiness we expect. Housel reminds us: “If nobody was watching, how would I choose to live?”Instead, when we align our money with our internal benchmarks — things like time with loved ones, freedom, meaningful experiences, independence — we tend to spend with purpose, save with intention, and build wealth rather than chase status. We'll talk about everyday habits: setting a savings rate, resisting lifestyle creep, choosing utility over status, defining your “enough” and paying your future self first. We'll also cover some of the major challenges: FOMO, status-driven spending, and short-term gratification vs long-term benefit. For each one we'll offer practical ways to catch yourself, shift your mindset, and pivot your behavior.By the end of the episode you'll have actionable takeaways: one habit to implement today, one spending choice to rethink this week, and a reminder that building wealth isn't glamorous — but it is powerful when done consistently. What you'll learn:Why wealth = what you have minus what you want (and why the “what you want” matters just as much). How to tell if your money is being spent for you or for others.Simple daily actions that build wealth over decades instead of chasing one big lightning strike. How to handle the mental challenges of comparison, social pressure and impulse-spending.Join the conversation: What spending decision surprised you this year? What internal benchmark matters most to you? Drop a comment below — your insight might help someone else.If you found value in this episode, please give it a thumbs up, click subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss future deep-dives into money mindset, investing habits and designing a life of financial freedom. Thanks for being here. In this Kitchen Side episode of The Long Game Podcast, the Omniscient Digital team explores the tension between moving fast and making smart decisions. Speed is often praised in startups and growth environments, but it can lead to thrashing, burnout, and wasted effort when misapplied. Through reflections on agency work, in-house roles, and working with clients, they examine how to balance urgency with focus, and how strategic patience—paired with tactical speed—can create real momentum. They also share real-world SEO and AI examples of teams pivoting too fast, chasing trends, and missing out on compounding gains due to lack of prioritization, alignment, or decisiveness.Key TakeawaysSpeed ≠ Thrashing: Speed is powerful—but not when it means jumping between tactics without a long-term direction.Experimentation Requires Discipline: The best teams move quickly within a defined portfolio of experiments, not across constant strategic shifts.AI and SEO Demand New Timelines: Understanding how long it takes to see results from AI Overviews or SEO changes is critical for smart investment.Strategic Decisions Need Time: Channel or strategy-level shifts should have space to breathe—tactical pivots can happen faster.Avoid Becoming the Bottleneck: Leadership speed often comes down to fast approvals, trust, and timely delegation.Portfolio Thinking Beats All-In Bets: High-performing orgs allocate some resources to R&D and experimentation while maintaining core execution.Alignment Enables Flow: Teams that communicate clearly and early across departments unlock faster execution and reduce friction.Show LinksConnect with David Khim on LinkedIn and TwitterConnect with Alex Birkett on LinkedIn and TwitterConnect with Allie Decker on LinkedIn and TwitterConnect with Omniscient Digital on LinkedIn or TwitterWhat is Kitchen Side? One big benefit of running an agency or working at one is you get to see the “kitchen side” of many different businesses; their revenue, their operations, their automations, and their culture. You understand how things look from the inside and how that differs from the outside. You understand how the sausage is made. What keeps you casting when the lake goes dead quiet and your fingers are numb? We sit down with Ugly Pike co-host and Passador BJJ owner, Frank Ungaro, to map the shared DNA between landing trophy muskies, leading a thriving academy, and growing a podcast people trust. The common thread is obsession paired with integrity—showing up, learning fast, and respecting the community that makes the chase worth it.Frank takes us into a Lac Seul trip derailed by a brutal cold front, where structure, timing, and humility became the only tools that mattered. We talk fall muskie strategy on the St. Lawrence, Georgian Bay, and the Ottawa corridor, why the “fish of a lifetime” often arrives in freezing wind, and how local intel outperforms a suitcase full of the wrong baits. From blades tuned to skim thin weed windows to trolling tracks that hold under helicopter shadows, the tactics are hard-won and specific.Off the water, we dive into building culture—how Frank refuses to be ruled by membership numbers, how attrition shapes a gym, and why promoting people is about character as much as skill. In this revealing episode of The Unapologetic Man Podcast, host Mark Sing dives deep into the secret art of “the campaign” — how to play the long game with women while keeping the upper hand and bypassing the dreaded friend zone with a super effective trick. Mark explains why slow-building attraction leads to stronger, longer-lasting connections, and how to use time, confidence, and humor to make a woman truly invested in you. He shares real-life examples from his days as a bouncer, the psychology behind “multiple touches,” and the four pillars of attraction that make this approach completely foolproof. Key Takeaways: - How waiting to get her number builds intrigue and desire. - Using humor, frame control, and value to stay high-status. - How to friend-zone her first and skyrocket her interest in you. - Why slow-burn attraction often outperforms instant chemistry. Welcome to episode #1006 of Thinking With Mitch Joel (formerly Six Pixels of Separation). Disruption isn't always loud. It's often quiet, slow and deeply human. That's one of the lessons Scott Anthony has spent his career unpacking. As a leading voice on innovation and the managing partner emeritus at Innosight (the consultancy founded by the late Clayton Christensen), Scott has helped global companies navigate the uncertainty that comes with change. He si currently a Clinical Professor of Strategy at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business. His latest book, Epic Disruptions – 11 Innovations That Shaped Our Modern World, reframes how we think about progress through stories that stretch from gunpowder to generative AI, showing that real innovation rarely arrives overnight (he's also written eight other books). It compounds through persistence, vision and luck. In this conversation, we explore what disruption really looks like inside organizations: the emotional toll of change, why mergers and acquisitions often fail, and how the next generation of intrapreneurs can learn from past innovators rather than repeat their mistakes. We also talk about the future of business education and how AI is rewriting the way we learn, teach, and measure knowledge (and why the classic case study model still has a role to play if it evolves with the times). Scott's perspective is grounded in humility and curiosity, shaped by years of studying leaders who dared to think differently and systems that resisted transformation. Whether you're navigating the next big pivot, building within a legacy organization, or simply trying to understand how the forces of innovation ripple through industries, this conversation offers a rare mix of strategy and soul. It's not about predicting the next big thing, it's about learning to see the patterns in change itself. Enjoy the conversation… Running time: 54:55. Hello from beautiful Montreal. On this episode of the Three-Inning Save podcast, the Dodgers swept the Brewers in the National League Championship Series, with Shohei Ohtani closing out the series with a sublime individual explosion in Game 4. Ohtani hit three home runs in Game 4, a game in which he also pitched six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts, the best individual performance in baseball history, to cement his NLCS MVP award. Dodgers pitching – Ohtani included – was the other main story of the NLCS, allowing a single run in all four games, and five straight games dating back to the Division Series. The Dodgers set franchise records with four runs and only 14 hits allowed in a postseason series. Related reading: Molly Knight on the NLCS at her newsletter The Long Game. Most people overestimate what they can do in a year and underestimate what they can do in ten. We live in a culture obsessed with instant gratification, chasing quick cash flow, fast promotions, and overnight results. But the truth is, real wealth, real health, and real impact are built over decades, not days. In this episode, we break down why the top one percent win simply because they play a longer game. We talk about how compounding works across every area of life from money and health to relationships and reputation, and why the small things done consistently today become the defining edge years from now. If you've been sprinting but still feel stuck, this episode will help you zoom out, realign your timeline, and start playing the game that actually leads to freedom. Vicki Odette is a Partner at Haynes Boone, an Am Law 100 firm with more than 700 lawyers across 19 offices worldwide. Based in Dallas, she serves on the firm's Executive Committee and is Global Chair of the Investment Management Practice Group. Her practice focuses on advising fund sponsors and investors on structuring and negotiating private equity, hedge fund, and venture capital investments, as well as complex partnership and joint venture arrangements. Vicki also counsels ultra high net worth individuals and families with assets exceeding $1 billion on business planning for family offices and their investments. In 2024, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association honored Vicki with its Rainmakers Award, recognizing her as one of the profession's leading business developers and client relationship leaders. WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS EPISODE ABOUT BECOMING A RAINMAKER For some lawyers, business development feels like a mystery, something reserved for extroverts or senior partners with decades of connections. Vicki Odette proves that's a myth. From her earliest years in practice, she treated business development as part of the job, not an afterthought. By asking questions, watching what successful partners did, and trying her own experiments, she built a network rooted in trust instead of transactions. As Christians, we long for, and work for, a world restored with grace and peace. Pastor Michelle this morning reminds us that sometimes it it hard to maintain our faith through the difficult times that happen. God helps us push through the hard times, many times by way of the community of faith we share - sometimes we are the ones using our time and gifts to help others, sometimes we ourselves are the ones receiving help. At some point, we will realize why we persisted in believing.
In this episode, Chad sits down with Coach Jake McKinley from the University of Nevada, a coach who believes that sports are one of the best classrooms in life. From the dugout to the locker room, Jake's philosophy is simple: athletics build character, discipline, and leadership in ways that last far beyond the game. They talk about what it means to guide young athletes, how patience and honesty shape great teams, and why real coaching is about preparing people for life, not just competition. They even get into the little things that make a big difference, and why Jake swears by Lululemon for those who live an active lifestyle. It's a real, grounded conversation about mentorship, mindset, and the kind of lessons that stick with you long after the scoreboard fades. This episode is presented by Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey and brought to you by Sierra Strength and Speed, Banded Casual Clothing, Napa Valley Olive Oil, PECOS Outdoors, and Mickey Thompson Tires and Wheels
