One of the most important things that you can give people is your word. If you say your going to do something it's very important you follow through with it. In the movie Forrest Gump he makes a promise to his good friend Bubba as he is passing away and he honours that promise. As a result his Lieutenant from the army also says he will be his 2ic if he became a captain of a boat and also honours that. Being a person of your word always tends to have a knock on effect which only results in amazing things happening. I was watching Tokyo Drift with a scene where Han tells Shaun the reason he let him drive his car. Han is a popular character from the fast and furious franchise. In the movie Tokyo Drift, he allows a young man by the name of Shaun drive his car in a drift race. Shaun who is not familiar with the world of drifting, totals Han's car and through that a bond is formed between the 2. During one of the scenes, Shaun still puzzled as to why Han allowed him to drive his car responds with one of the most profound statements in the movie and is the basis for this episode. The conversation goes as follows: Shaun: Why'd you let me drive your car You knew I was gonna wreck it. Han: Why not? Shaun: Cause that's a lot of money. Han: I have money, It's trust and character I need around me. You know, who you choose to be around you let's you know who you are. One car in exchange for knowing what a man's made of? That's a price I can live with. Recently I saw an article which talked about Amazon stores that were unmanned, meaning that they didn't have people working in them and that there was a system in place where people could come in, grab what they wanted and then leave. It's sad to see that people have become so anti people that other businesses are also looking into this idea for their own stores as well. There's an old saying which goes along the lines of, "If you fall off a horse, you get back up". When people refuse to get back on straight away, they develop either a fear or resentment against horses and therefore never make an attempt to do it again. It's the same with people, if we allow ourselves to focus on people who have wronged us, we develop a resentment against people which is unhealthy. We need to take the plunge and get back up again.
