Lately, I've been working with too many people who don't have a clear vision and plan of where they want to go and what they want to accomplish in their life and business. If you don't know where you want to go, then any path will get you there. You'll end up meandering and then wonder why you're not really getting anywhere in life or business. The crazy thing is recently when I was talking with Brien Gearin about coming on board to help us grow Millionaire University, he asked me if I could send him a business plan, and I realized I didn't really have one...Well, I did sorta but not anything that I could easily send over to him. This allowed me to think through our plan to grow MU to a Billion Dollar Organization over the next 10 years and helped me think through more about how I come up with and write business plans, and how and when you should write a business plan of your own. I hope you enjoy this episode. Feel free to send me your plan and or any questions you have at justin@millionaireuniversity.com (Original Air Date - 7/20/23) What Justin and Tara discuss on today's episode: + Introduction to Millionaire University + The Importance of a Business Plan + The Vision for Millionaire University + The Role of Stock in MU + The Challenge of Articulating a Business Plan + The Process of Creating a Business Plan + The Problems Millionaire University Aims to Solve + The Mission and Vision of Millionaire University + The Importance of Tailoring Business to Individual Strengths + The Role of Business Plans + The Importance of Having a Business Plan + The Role of Business Plans in Starting a Business + The Challenges of Writing a Business Plan + The Importance of Adapting Business Plans + The Importance of Vision in Business + The Role of Personal Vision in Business + The Importance of Goals and Timelines in Business + The Role of Problem Solving in Business + The Importance of Execution in Business + The Role of Partnerships in Business + The Importance of Smart Leadership in Business Growth + The Role of Flexibility and Adaptability in Business + The Power of Teamwork and Shared Vision + Exploring Different Strategies for Business Growth + The Potential of Podcasting in Business + The Value of Diversifying Business Tasks + The Impact of Effective Marketing and Advertising + The Importance of SEO in Business + The Role of Investment in Business Growth + The Power of Sponsorships in Business + The Importance of Email Marketing in Business + The Potential of Business Growth through Podcasting + The Importance of Having Fun, Making Money, and Helping People in Business + The Potential of Mastermind Groups in Business + The Value of Content Creation in Business + The Power of Networking and Connections in Business + The Potential of Business Growth through Equity + The Potential of Business Growth through Marketing Agencies + The Importance of Aligning Incentives in Business + The Importance of Taking Action in Business For more information go to MillionaireUniversity.com To get access to our FREE Business Training course go to MillionaireUniversity.com/training. Welcome back, friend! Today, we're taking a walk down memory lane—yes, there's a nod to Welcome Back, Kotter—but more importantly, we're diving into a topic that's been on my heart: creating spaces for real, honest collaboration and connection. I'm pulling back the curtain on Collaborate, the annual event we've hosted for the past three years. This isn't your average conference. It's not about the sizzle, the glam, or the Instagram-worthy moments. Collaborate is about deep, meaningful conversations, vulnerability, and growth—both personal and professional. What You'll Learn in This Episode: The Magic of Collaborate: Discover what makes Collaborate a transformative experience. Hint: it's not about the venue or the photo ops; it's about the connections and the “magic” of real conversations. Why Vulnerability is a Game-Changer: Learn how being open and honest can unlock growth in both life and business. April shares how vulnerability—once a “hard pass” for her—has become a cornerstone of meaningful leadership and collaboration. Overcoming Limiting Narratives: Hear powerful stories of attendees who faced their fears—like accents, self-doubt, or past failures—and how the community turned those perceived weaknesses into strengths. The Power of Me Too: Understand the profound impact of shared struggles and how hearing “me too” can dissolve shame and inspire action. Building a 3-Year Vision: Explore how the event integrates personal growth with actionable strategies to help attendees design a vision for their life and business. Key Moments: Introduction to Collaborate: Not about the sizzle, but about creating a space for community and real connection. Why “magic” is the only word that fits the experience. Vulnerability in safe spaces: How Collaborate fosters honest conversations that break down barriers. The power of “me too”: Stories of shared fears and how they became strengths. Mike's call to action: “The world needs this. How do WE bring this out in the world?” Quotes from the Episode: “This isn't about the sizzle. The world has enough sizzle. It's about real connection, real growth, and locking arms with people who care about you.” — April Garcia “The power of vulnerability isn't in showing weakness; it's in creating connection and understanding.” — April Garcia “When you share your struggles, you might just help someone else realize they're not alone either.” — April Garcia Why Collaborate Matters: For Business Owners: It's not just about growing revenue but about growing yourself so you can scale sustainably without losing what matters most. For Leaders and Teams: Collaborate provides a blueprint for creating spaces where vulnerability is a strength, not a liability. For Everyone Feeling Stuck: Whether it's self-doubt, burnout, or fear of failure, Collaborate helps uncover the narratives holding you back and replaces them with strength and support. Action Steps for Listeners: Find Your Community: Seek out a space where you can be real, vulnerable, and supported. It doesn't have to be Collaborate—but make it a priority to find your tribe. Reflect on Your Narratives: What stories are you telling yourself that might be holding you back? Write them down and challenge their truth. Create a Vision: Take 30 minutes to outline your 3-year vision for life and business. What's your next bold move? Share Your Struggles: Start a real conversation with someone you trust. You might just find the power of “me too.”   --------------------------- Want to be part of a transformative experience for entrepreneurs and leaders?

We're back and in this episode, Dave Wolcott shares the significance of having a mindset that promotes holistic wealth, exploring both mental and financial health. Dave also talks about strategic investment tactics to reduce tax burdens and build passive incomes. His background and career journey add valuable context to his strategies, making them relatable and actionable for our listeners. Dave Wolcott's Morning and Evening Routines Dave advises having an automatic pilot-like morning routine that includes exercise, meditation, and journaling. He strongly encourages investing in oneself, particularly in health, mindset, and financial IQ. According to Dave, consistent habits help in focusing and achieving life goals effectively. Dave says, “Over time, I understood that health and fitness are two distinct things. Now, at 54, I focus more on health than ever before.” He also highlights his precise evening routine, which includes foam rolling and stretching to enhance the parasympathetic nervous system and improve sleep quality. He states that a good evening routine is crucial for better sleep and overall well-being. Mindset and Financial IQ Dave discusses the importance of overcoming limiting beliefs and making educated decisions regarding financial investments. His book outlines five phases, starting with mindset. He says, “Your net worth is directly proportional to your financial IQ.” This means understanding how money works and making smart financial decisions can significantly impact your wealth. Dave's Philosophy on Wealth Dave's approach to wealth is unique, emphasizing a combination of holistic aspects. Financial freedom goes beyond monetary wealth to include the freedom of purpose, time, and relationships. Dave points out the multiple forms of capital the ultra-wealthy understand: financial, intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Career Shift and Wealth-Building Strategies Dave shares his journey from a middle-class upbringing in Connecticut to joining the Marine Corps. His dissatisfaction with traditional financial advice led him to seek alternative wealth-building strategies. He founded Pantheon to assist others in building wealth outside traditional methods like stocks and bonds. Entrepreneurial Tax Strategies Dave dives into various tax strategies and the benefits of investing in oil and gas funds, which offer significant tax deductions. He emphasizes the importance of finding the right CPA for tax planning rather than just tax preparation. Using cash whole life insurance policies, he explains how to leverage capital effectively. Virtual Family Office Solutions Dave realized the gap in finding knowledgeable advisors and created a virtual family office offering curated, best-in-breed advisors. This solution aims to reduce taxes, increase wealth, and provide risk management for high-net-worth individuals. According to Dave, even those with a net worth of $3-4 million can significantly benefit from such a resource. Critique of Traditional Financial Systems Dave criticizes traditional financial systems like 401ks and IRAs for their lack of control and potential future tax burdens. He shares how he exited his 401k, paid penalties, and reinvested in real estate and energy, resulting in significant growth. Dave's 401k exit calculator illustrates how reinvesting can outperform traditional returns over 20 years. Personal Vision and Consistency Dave emphasizes the importance of creating a personal vision, similar to a business vision statement. He advises entrepreneurs to align their personal and family goals, ensuring better decision-making. Consistent daily habits, including exercise and personal development, contribute to maintaining calmness and effectiveness amidst numerous responsibilities. External Resources Dave's Book: Holistic Wealth Strategy Recommended Book: Tax-Free Wealth by Tom Wheelwright Conclusion Dave Wolcott offers a treasure trove of practical advice that redefines financial and personal development. From daily routines to tax strategies and beyond, his insights aim to provide holistic wealth and well-being. In this episode with visual artist, Dan Perkins, we dive into a discussion around the evolution of his painting practice.  He shares about how over the recent years, through all the turmoil of global events, he started to turn more inward.  This shift impacted his paintings, moving them away from being solely focused on formal concerns, to being more interested in the psychological landscape.  We discussed the power of meditative practice and how art making, along with art viewing, can offer glimpses into a different state of consciousness.  --------------------------------- Dan Perkins lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He received his MFA from American University. His paintings channel architectural motifs that connote space: crossing through a threshold, gazing through a window, passing from one plane to another. However the spaces depicted sit in an ethereal haze, where color and form are primary. Scale, time and space are all negotiable, up to the viewer to frame and understand. He has shown at Deanna Evans Projects, Sperone Westwater, Kutlesa Gallery, Hashimoto Contemporary, Launch F18, Mana Contemporary, and elsewhere. His work is held in the collections of Capital One, Fidelity Investments, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Katzen Museum of American University, as well as in many private collections. His work has been featured in Juxtapoz Magazine, Booooooom, Wired Italia, Art of Choice, Archive 00, Two Coats of Paint, Artsy, ArtMaze Mag, and the Washington Post. https://www.kutlesagallery.com/exhibitions/23-fresh-nature/https://www.deannaevansprojects.com/dan-perkinshttp://www.danperkinsart.com/https://www.instagram.com/danperkinsart/ See More from Martin Benson *To stay up on releases and content surrounding the show check out my instagram *To contribute to the creation of this show, along with access to other exclusive content, consider joining my Patreon! Summary: Each year I set a word of intention rather than a New Year's resolution, and I usually stop and do a deep reflection on my intention at the end of the year. Like most of us, I'm always learning and growing, and I've learned if I don't do a deeper reflection in the summer, I usually get off track. That was one of my big reflections from last year. Today's episode is going to be a mid-year reflection on my word of the year, which is purpose. I'll speak about my word of the year and how I set my vision for the year. I'll also summarize the five ways I wanted to live with more purpose this year. I encourage you to take time to either set your own word for the remainder of the year, or if you already have a word for this year, do a deeper reflection on how this year's word is going for you. I promise that you won't regret time spent in reflection! Episode Resources: https://chelseapierotti.com/119
