I'm here preaching to help your students acquire languages!
The Preaching To Acquire podcast has been an invaluable resource for me as a middle school Spanish teacher looking to incorporate more comprehensible input (CI) strategies into my instruction. This podcast is filled with insightful discussions and practical tips that have greatly enhanced my teaching methods. The host's reflective approach and dedication to improving her practice are truly admirable, and the conversations with other educators provide valuable insights and inspiration. I am incredibly grateful for this podcast as it has been instrumental in helping me prepare for my 25th year of teaching, especially during these challenging times of remote learning due to COVID-19.
One of the best aspects of The Preaching To Acquire podcast is its ability to present complex CI strategies in a concise and easily understandable format. The episodes are short yet packed with practical information that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. The host's clear explanations and examples make it easy to visualize how the strategies can be used with students. Additionally, the inclusion of guest educators further enriches the content by offering diverse perspectives and experiences.
However, there are some aspects of the podcast that could be improved upon. While the episodes provide great insights into CI strategies, it would be beneficial to have more episodes dedicated to specific examples or lesson plans using these strategies. This would further enhance the practical application of the concepts discussed in each episode.
In conclusion, The Preaching To Acquire podcast is an exceptional resource for language teachers seeking to incorporate comprehensible input strategies into their instruction. It offers valuable insights, practical tips, and inspiring conversations that have greatly influenced my teaching practice. I highly recommend this podcast to all language teachers looking to grow and improve their skills in providing meaningful language acquisition experiences for their students.

The purpose of this activity is for students to work collaboratively together to create sentences using familiar words that have been used in the guided oral input/shared writing texts before. Students try to make as many sentences as possible using as many words as possible. And there are even blank cards for students to write their own extra words on to level up their sentences. This will help build their confidence before their writing assessment so they can see how much they already can do!
