“The Mind-Bending Math of Grace”Romans 5:12-2112 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone's account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.CONNECT WITH USIf you have any questions or would like to get to know us further, head over to https://www.triumphlbc.org/connect and fill out our online connection card.ABOUT TRIUMPHTriumph wants to see the life and message of Jesus transform your heart, home, and city. An Inside Look At Barry Morphew's Secret Deleted Texts Description: Barry Morphew told police his marriage was “great.” But Suzanne Morphew's phone—and what Barry allegedly tried to erase from it—tells a very different story. In this episode, we go deep with Defense Attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis to examine the deleted digital evidence prosecutors say could reveal Barry's motive for murder. At the center of this forensic puzzle is a critical message Suzanne sent just three days before her disappearance: “I'm done. Let's figure this out civilly.” Investigators say Barry deleted the message—but took a screenshot of it. Why? Was it an emotional trigger? A digital souvenir? Or something more calculated? We explore what these deletions reveal about Barry's potential state of mind in the days leading up to Suzanne's vanishing. Could this be an example of psychological unraveling—or legal narrative control? Eric Faddis brings his unique expertise as both a former prosecutor and defense attorney to analyze how prosecutors use deleted data as circumstantial proof, and how defense teams attack that logic. We also examine the broader digital trail: text logs, phone activity, and why Barry's phone went into airplane mode shortly after Suzanne's last selfie was sent. Was it a coincidence—or part of a cover-up? In a world where our phones are our diaries, our alibis, and our confessions, Barry's deleted texts may be more damning than anything he said aloud. Join us as we dissect how technology, timing, and motive collide in this chilling case—and what it means for the upcoming trial. Time:AfternoonMinister:Rev. In this sermon, No King but Jesus, we consider how the wisdom of Ecclesiastes helps us find our place in the unfolding story of redemptive history. With clarity and conviction, we trace a covenantal shift: under the Old Covenant, the throne belonged to David; under the New Covenant, it belongs to Christ. That shift redefines our citizenship, calling us to live as exiles and sojourners in a world that is not our home. Rather than trying to resurrect a New Christendom or reclaim earthly dominance, we are summoned to faithful presence—submitting to governing authorities, honoring the king, but pledging ultimate allegiance to the King of kings. As we await the return of Jesus, we learn to dethrone our misplaced hopes and live wisely under the reign of Christ, who alone holds the throne forever.Time:MorningMinister:Rev. “The Best of Intentions”2 Samuel 6:1-151 David again brought together all the able young men of Israel—thirty thousand. 2 He and all his men went to Baalah in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, the name of the Lord Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim on the ark. 3 They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart 4 with the ark of God on it, and Ahio was walking in front of it. 5 David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might before the Lord, with castanets, harps, lyres, timbrels, sistrums and cymbals.6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7 The Lord's anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God.8 Then David was angry because the Lord's wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.9 David was afraid of the Lord that day and said, “How can the ark of the Lord ever come to me?” 10 He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 11 The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household.12 Now King David was told, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. 13 When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. 14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.CONNECT WITH USIf you have any questions or would like to get to know us further, head over to https://www.triumphlbc.org/connect and fill out our online connection card.ABOUT TRIUMPHTriumph wants to see the life and message of Jesus transform your heart, home, and city. In the age of virtual communication, here's how to ensure your messages convey what you mean.Texts. Emails. Slacks. Zooms. We're communicating in more ways than ever, but Andrew Brodsky has a word of warning: Your virtual communication might be sending messages you're not aware of.Brodsky is the author of PING: The Secrets of Successful Virtual Communication. And as a professor of management at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, he researches the impact of technology on workplace communication. “In virtual communication, there's often missing information,” he says. “As recipients of it, we're searching to fill in the gaps. The problem [is] that the recipient who's making these guesses is often guessing incorrectly.” As his research reveals, variables like typos, the time you schedule a meeting, and even your choice of email signature affect how your messages are received — and how you're perceived. In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, host Matt Abrahams and Brodsky explore his PING framework (perspective-taking, initiative, nonverbal awareness, and goals) for mastering digital communication. From understanding when to choose email over a phone call to navigating cameras-on versus cameras-off meetings, he offers practical strategies for ensuring your virtual messages communicate exactly what you intend. To listen to the extended Deep Thinks version of this episode, please visit FasterSmarter.io/premiumEpisode Reference Links:Andrew BrodskyAndrew's Book: PingEp.31 Quick Thinks: How to Shine Online and Excel at Virtual Communication Ep.53 Step Up and Stand Out: How to Create the Right Environment for Communication Connect:Premium Signup >>>> Think Fast Talk Smart PremiumEmail Questions & Feedback >>> hello@fastersmarter.ioEpisode Transcripts >>> Think Fast Talk Smart WebsiteNewsletter Signup + English Language Learning >>> FasterSmarter.ioThink Fast Talk Smart >>> LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTubeMatt Abrahams >>> LinkedInChapters:(00:00) - Introduction (02:34) - What Is Virtual Communication?
