Welcome to That NICU Mum, a podcast sharing the stories from New Zealand parents who have had a baby in neonatal units across the country.Todays episode is the story of Spencer, a little boy who fought to be here against all odds and is thriving despite his really early start to life! Born at 29+6 he was expected to be small due to sIUGR (severe IntraUterine Growth Restriction) but none of the doctors, or his parents, were expecting the amount of diagnosis' he ended up with.Rachel was amazing to talk to and it was incredible to hear what they had overcome to get Spencer home to meet his brother Miller after 261 days in hospital! Thanks so much to Rachel for sharing her story and to you for listening.
