If you are a mom who has ever looked at a crazy week and thought "I'll just start next week when things calm down", this episode is for you. The truth is, the chaos is not going anywhere. The sick kids, the last minute emergencies, the packed schedules, that is just motherhood. So how do some moms manage to nail their nutrition goals and hit their protein targets even when life is completely off the rails? In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on exactly how I stayed consistent with my meal planning and nutrition during one of my most overwhelming weeks yet. And trust me, it was a lot. The answer might surprise you because it has nothing to do with willpower, perfect planning, or finding more hours in the day. It has everything to do with two things that most overwhelmed moms are missing, and once you have them, balance and consistency become a whole lot more achievable even when your capacity is maxed out. If burnout is your baseline and chaos feels like your normal, this episode will change the way you think about your health and what is actually possible for you. -Rachel Next Steps: 100 Gram Protein Cheat Sheet Meal Planning on Autopilot Starter Kit

Most people think tracking their protein is enough. The science says what your body actually craves is something far more specific and the person making that argument spent 23 years inside legacy media watching the wellness industry sell women everything from "bikini body in two weeks" to canned protein soda. In this episode, I sit down with Liz Plosser, former Editor in Chief of Women's Health, where she oversaw brands reaching 44 million women. We break down why the nine essential amino acids are what your body is really after when you chase protein, why BCAAs are only a fraction of the picture, and why a study found four of the top six creatine gummies on Amazon contained zero creatine. Liz also opens up about her own supplement stack, her shift from endurance running to heavy lifting, and makes the case that testing instead of guessing is one of the most empowering moves you can make for your health. Then we go deep on the science most people get wrong: why aging women struggle to pull amino acids from food, how essential aminos protect lean muscle even on rest days and for those on GLP-1s, the new research on high-dose creatine for sleep deprivation and Alzheimer's, and why collagen may not deserve the hype. We also cover the menopause misinformation epidemic, the 2002 hormone study that terrified the world, and what Liz puts in her own morning protocol. This conversation will completely change how you think about protein, what you supplement, and how you fuel your brain and body. *Reduce your risk of Alzheimer's with my science-backed protocol for women 30+:*https://go.neuroathletics.com.au/youtube-sales-page Subscribe to The Neuro Experience for evidence-based conversations at the intersection of brain science, longevity, and performance. _____ *TOPICS DISCUSSED*(00:00:00) Intro: The Protein Myth and Why Amino Acids Are What Your Body Really Wants (00:00:56) Protein, Amino Acids, and How Much You Actually Need (00:03:23) The Nine Essential Amino Acids: The Real Building Blocks (00:06:03) BCAAs vs EAAs: Why a Subset Isn't Enough (00:11:50) 23 Years in Wellness Media: What Liz Saw Change (00:14:18) The Menopause Conversation and Why It Exploded (00:23:17) Kion Aminos, Timing, and Whether It Counts Toward Your 100g (00:26:46) Liz's Daily Routine: Aminos, Creatine, and the Morning Glass of Water (00:27:42) Can You Take Aminos While Fasting? He challenges the assumption that skipping breakfast or only drinking coffee until noon is always healthier, noting research suggesting how you break a fast affects fat loss, muscle preservation, metabolic health, cognitive performance, and longevity. He explains protein's benefits—higher thermic effect, better blood sugar stability, and greater satiety—and links muscle to healthy aging, citing age-related muscle loss and the role of mTOR and leucine (about 2.5–3 grams per meal). He gives breakfast protein examples and suggests essential amino acids as a practical option for intermittent fasters to support muscle without a full meal, recommending a one-week experiment. 00:00 Morning Protein Setup 01:02 30g Breakfast Challenge 01:44 Fasting and Metabolism 02:54 Why 30g Works 03:56 Muscle and mTOR 05:05 What 30g Looks Like 05:24 EAAs for Intermittent Fasters 06:57 Longevity and Weekly Experiment 08:10 Wrap Up and Disclaimer

From fossil fuel lobbying to coordinated political disinformation campaigns, vested interests have built a profitable disinformation infrastructure designed to spread confusion, polarize debate, and exhaust the public. The good news is that the world is waking up. For the first time in the history of the COP, a Declaration on Information Integrity was agreed upon, with governments committing to address climate disinformation and promote accurate, evidence-based information globally. But we need to go further upstream - instead of simply fighting falsehoods, we need to build ecosystems where truth can take root and flourish. In this episode, we look to Brazil and speak to an individual who was integral in bringing information integrity both to COP and the international agenda. She makes the case for cities as one of the most powerful forces in reclaiming the narrative, building the infrastructure of truth from the ground up - one community at a time.Featured guest: Thais Lazzeri, Investigative Journalist and Founder of FALALinks:Declaration on Information Integrity on Climate Change - UNESCOIntegrity Information Observatory - OiiMentiro Tem Preco (Lies Have a Price)Climate Information Integrity5 Million Acts for Truth - FALATomorrow is today - YouTube (Portuguese)500 Grams of Life - Thais Lazzeri (Portuguese) ‘Democracy on the line': Brazil's election and the Bolsonaro disinformation ecosystem - Columbia Journalism ReviewEnvironmental and Climatic Disinformation in Northern Brazil: Dynamics and Impact in the Context of COP-30 - Heinrich Boll StiftungEnvironmental journalism and the struggle against disinformation in Brazil - Frontiers in CommunicationIf you want to learn more about the Journal of City Climate Policy and Economy, please visit our website at https://jccpe.utpjournals.press/Listen to the Cities 1.5 five-part miniseries “Going Steady with Herman Daly: How to Unbreak the Economy (and the Planet)" here: https://lnk.to/HDMiniSeriesCities 1.5 is produced by the University of Toronto Press and the C40 Centre, and is supported by C40 Cities. He also shares the story behind his ride across Australia for Tour de Cure, his own experience with cancer, and why that challenge became bigger than the record attempt itself. With Seven Gravel and the UCI Gravel World Championships coming to Nannup, the team dive into tyre choice, race prep, nutrition, aid stations, and why WA gravel might finally give Worlds a proper gravel test.

It's the beginning of April and that means I have the opportunity to speak with Ellen Bayens of theceliacscene.com to discuss the articles she has brought to our attention over the past month. Ellen and I discuss a recent study that looks at how patients with celiac disease interact with their health care professionals. This is, of course dependent on the particular health care professional, but the study found that often celiac patients felt that their doctor was treating them with less respect as if they weren't very smart. Ellen reminded us of the Conquer Study that you can still fill out. The study is looking at the experience of celiac adults as well as parents of celiac children. What better time to tell four scary stories than...right between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Here's the flimsy pretext: after coming home from a so-so horror movie, Joey, Jack, and Pacey make like a Treehouse Of Horror and tell their own stories. What happened to Joey in the library? Jack when he was alone in the frat house? Pacey on an improbable drive home with Karen? And what scarifying tale did Grams hear from Jen? We go through them all in our latest podcast episode, if you're not too much of a fraidy-cat to listen!JOIN THE AWT CLUB

Questions about grandmothers and Grammy winners! Fact of the Day: The filmmakers for "Shrek" (2001) had originally used Smash Mouth's "All Star" as a placeholder for the opening credits and intended to replace it with an original composition that would mimic the feel of "All Star". DreamWorks executive Jeffrey Katzenberg suggested for them to keep it in. Mitch is dead, and everyone's stopped their lives to deal with it. All the Boston students, plus Grams and Pacey, come back for the funeral. (Evidently all Pacey's relatives -- including Gretchen, who lives less than a half-day's drive away -- had better things to do.) Jen doesn't know how to help Dawson, and says so to him. Joey thinks she does, and gets rebuffed. Dawson himself is handling as much of the preparations as he can because Gale has fully broken down, though when he does open up, it's to tell Joey he blames himself entirely for Mitch's death. This is such a relentlessly grim one that we better get at least three kooky ones to balance it out, but for now, say hello to our episode on "The Long Goodbye"! JOIN THE AWT CLUB

Dawson, naturally, got into the USC summer program, so we join him on his last day in Capeside. It's hard! His father is being very bossy about what kind of laptop Dawson should get and with whom he should be spending his last dinner before college. His ex-girlfriends Jen and Joey keep bringing up stuff they talked about three seasons ago. His absent best friend Pacey is phoning from "paradise" to say how much their friendship means to him. Not that he knows it, but Jen is giving Joey the idea that if Joey just asked Dawson to stay, he would. And maybe she's right -- Dawson still hasn't even packed yet! It's also Grams and Jen's last day in Capeside, but no one seems to care about that nearly as much. Maybe the Led Zeppelin album Coda announced, "I Can't Quit You Baby," but we CAN quit Season 4 in our latest episode! JOIN THE AWT CLUB
