You must be spiritually born to receive eternal life. “Unless one is born of water [physical birth] and born of Spirit [born again through faith alone in Christ alone] he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). This second birth is a simple act of faith. “He who believes in Him [the Lord Jesus Christ] is not judged” (John 3:18). You will either be born twice or die twice. Unbelievers, those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, will die the second death, will be condemned to the Lake of Fire, and tormented forever.Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/two-births-94140c

Brief introduction includes reminiscing on old TV show Dallas and meeting Patrick Duffy and R2D2 at the Superdome in New Orleans. Many relatives talk to the Scarabin family in Tembagapura, Indonesia just after they'd arrived - Scarabins-Gertrude, James Randolph Scarabin, Jeffrey Mervin "Buzzy" Scarabin, Minos Paul Scarabin, Louis Melvin Scarabin, Sr., Helen Mae Wright Adolph, Quentin Scott Evans, Helen Gail Adolph Portie, Brent Edward Portie, Lillian and Ernest Leonard "Pompy" Scarabin, Helen Mae again, Clarence Henry Adolph, Sr., Kyle Louis Bergeron, Craig Alan Bergeron, Carolyn Del Adolph Bergeron. Featuring multiple family members exchanging messages with loved ones, Louis M. "DD" Scarabin, Jr., Marilyn Kay Adolph and the kids, who are currently away. The recording, dated May 22-27, 1976 (MawMaw mistakenly says April 23), from Boothville, captures a heartfelt and casual conversation filled with updates on daily life, family activities, and expressions of longing for those who are absent. Fishing and shrimping activities are mentioned, with mixed success (e.g., catching $90-$200 worth of shrimp). Household tasks like cleaning, gardening (e.g., harvesting butter beans and red beans), and trailer preparations are ongoing. Weather affects plans, with rain delaying trailer deliveries and outdoor work. Church attendance is noted, with some family members absent due to illness. A new trailer for Gail is delivered, described as nice but challenging to organize due to her belongings. Births (e.g., Sal's new baby boy) and two deaths (Michelle "Mickey" Adams, 9, from car accident; Dr. Rees, 63, from a heart attack) are mentioned.
Weddings. Graduations. Births. Empty Nesting. Divorce. No one would ever say that going through a big transition like this is easy. When reviewing my curriculum for my Starlight Virtual Support group this week, I learned that when people go through any rite of passage during life, their bodies require 20-25 minutes of rest three times a day, or they can get sick. Let's take a second and really think about that - we should rest 20-25 minutes three times a day when facing big life changes. I'm trying to look back to whether I have ever truly put aside time like that when going through big life transitions. I don't think I have. I am quite sure I am not alone in this. We are encouraged to power through and keep going until we fall into bed exhausted at night's end. Now, let's go a step further. When we are grieving and going through additional big transitions in life, is it surprising that we are completely exhausted? This conversation with Gwen serves as a wake-up call to me, and hopefully, it will do the same for all of you. I am certain that over the past almost 300 episodes of this podcast, I have said countless times how important it is to give yourself grace while you are grieving. Today, I am going to tell you to give yourself double grace when you are going through changes in life. Are you going through a graduation or planning for children to move off to college? Get help from others. You are more tired than your friends. They likely aren't thinking about the child whose graduation party they will never get to have, or living with the fear that when this child moves off to college, they might never see them again. Give yourself grace. Are you planning a wedding or expecting a new baby in the family? This is awesome and wonderful, but it is still exhausting, and the grief will likely bubble up when you least expect it, while looking at the empty chair in the church or in the eyes of that newborn. Give yourself grace. Are you going through the challenge of divorce? It may bring relief for a new beginning, but you may feel grief as you remember family times together. Give yourself grace.

Send us a textToday we interviewed Cally, who shared her experiences across two very different births. Her first pregnancy took place during COVID, where limited access to care led her to an OB by default. Red flags emerged throughout the pregnancy, but she continued with the same provider. After a long posterior labour that ended in an epidural and Syntocinon, she began to reflect more deeply on her birth choices. We also spoke about her breastfeeding journey—navigating early challenges, pumping and bottle-feeding for nearly two years—and her experience with a medically managed miscarriage, which she approached with intention and care.In her third pregnancy, Cally initially returned to her OB but switched to a private midwife at 26 weeks after feeling unsupported in her birth preferences. She went on to plan a homebirth that honoured her values and autonomy. When a postpartum hemorrhage occurred, it was swiftly and effectively managed by her midwifery team at home—including resuscitation—demonstrating the high level of skill and preparedness within well-supported homebirth care.Links:Mama Midwives Core & Floor Restore Free Antenatal ClassesThe Pink Elephant Support Network Red Nose Info on APGAR Score Ten years of publicly funded homebirth services in Victoria Mothers & Babies Report - APGAR dataNational Core Maternity Indicators - APGARWhat is Medical management of miscarriage Support the show@homebirthstoriesaustralia Support the show by buying us a coffee! In this episode of the MamasteFit Podcast, Birth Story Friday, Roxanne sits down with joined by Allison, who shares her transformative journey through two births. Allison's first experience involved an induction that ended with a C-section during the peak COVID-19 shutdowns, where she felt like a passive participant in the birth process. Her second birth was a VBAC, highlighting the power of proper education, advocating for oneself, and the importance of building a supportive birth team. Allison's story underscores how being an active participant can lead to a more empowering and positive birth experience. 00:00 Introduction to the MamasteFit Podcast01:17 Allison's First Pregnancy and Birth Experience02:47 Challenges During Induction and Labor07:41 C-Section and Postpartum Struggles09:05 Preparing for a VBAC11:21 Second Pregnancy and Labor Preparation17:50 Early Labor Signs and Doula Support20:18 Active Labor and Coping Techniques27:17 Deciding to Stay Home or Go to the Hospital27:36 The Car Ride to the Hospital30:22 Arriving at the Hospital32:14 Laboring at the Hospital38:17 The Final Push and Birth46:33 Postpartum Recovery and Reflections48:35 Importance of Education and Advocacy54:59 Conclusion and Resources——————————Get Your Copy of Training for Two on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3VOTdwH
In this emotional and deeply insightful episode, we hear from a powerful mama Aly McClain who shares the highs and lows of her four unique birth experiences. Each one teaching her something new about surrender, trust, and the strength of her body and spirit. From a pain-empowered second birth, to navigating an unexpected NICU transfer, to welcoming her birthday baby after 42 weeks, this episode covers the full spectrum of birthing experiences, including a moment of potential shoulder dystocia and the power of intuition in labour. In This Episode, You'll Hear:
The Book of Acts is a hoot! Starting with the day of Pentecost, we see a massive outpouring of God's power and grace! This cataclysmic event set the disciples up for a lifestyle of miracles and gift-based ministry. The disciples continued steadfastly in prayer because they had learned from their teacher to cultivate a prayer reflex. At times, they were overwhelmed by their calling until they understood that prayer was the key to unlocking the resources of heaven! They had been commissioned to do miracles and needed to understand their source. Fortunately, Jesus had taught them! The Lord taught them to embrace a simple, childlike prayer reflex. No fanfare, no striving, just simple faith in the Father! Our prayer life matters because it most clearly expresses our connection to the Lord. Life makes sense when we learn to respond this way; even our betrayals and losses call us to a deeper connection in prayer! God uses everything to draw us to prayer! Maria discusses several fruits revealed through a prayer life in the New Testament, but her greatest lesson in this message is that prayer releases God's glory. We were created for the glory and to operate in miracles; if you want to witness it, start praying and commit to a steadfast prayer life that is unwavering in Him.
My third baby is here and in addition to his birth story, I wanted to walk you through what an empowered induction looks like. There are so many things I did that aren't "common practice" but still safe for low risk deliveries and I managed to have as close to a "holistic" medicated labor as you can get. If you're worried about getting induced, want to know what your options are for a hospital birth, or just want to hear another birth story, this episode is for you!
In this episode, Carla Hackett shares her three very different birth experiences - from a hospital birth with her first son Raph, to an unexpectedly rapid home birth with her second son Noah, and finally a beautiful water birth with her daughter Maeve. ___________ Download our free guide: Labour tips for birth partners What is a birth support partner? A birth support partner offers physical and emotional support throughout labour and birth. Your birth partner should be mentioned in your birth plan, particularly in regards to how they will advocate for you to your midwife or doctor. If you are a birth partner, don’t forget that she will be relying on you throughout all stages of labour and birth to offer words of encouragement, hold her hand, guide her through breathing techniques and remind her, most importantly, that she is safe.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send us a textIn today's episode, we chat with Alinta, a mother who has experienced the beauty and challenges of homebirths for both her children. Alinta shares the powerful story of her first birth, which took place at her mother's house after a 37-hour labour journey. Living a few hours away from a hospital in a remote location, Alinta chose to be with her mum for support during the long labour. For her second birth, Alinta chose to have her baby at home, in a space she found most comfortable. This time, she welcomed a 4.7kg baby into the world. In addition to her homebirths, Alinta also shares how she supported a friend by donating breast milk during her postpartum period with her second child.Support the show@homebirthstoriesaustralia Support the show by buying us a coffee! It's Thursday, March 27th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, and Vietnam deny religious liberty The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom released its annual report on Tuesday. The report advises the U.S. State Department to designate certain countries as Countries of Particular Concern for severe religious freedom violations. The commission recommended countries like Burma, China, North Korea, and Russia to remain on the list. It further recommended adding Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, and Vietnam. Nearly all the countries on the recommendation list are also on Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian. McKenna Wendt with International Christian Concern said, “[We are] particularly grateful for [the report's] focus on the persecution of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world.” Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.” Christianity & Buddhism saw most losses from religious switching Pew Research released a new report on “religious switching” around the world. In many countries, about one out of five adults have left the religious group they grew up in. Christianity and Buddhism saw the most losses from this religious switching, while those with no religious affiliation increased. Religious switching was common across East Asia, Western Europe, North America, and South America. However, countries with large Christian populations, but with little religious switching, include Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, the Philippines, Poland, and Hungary. 10,000 Dutch were killed by euthanasia Sadly, nearly 10,000 people were killed in the Netherlands last year through euthanasia. That's up 10% from 2023. Deaths involving psychological suffering were up 60%. Bruno Waterfield, reporting for The Times, said, “There is concern that growing numbers of suicidal people, especially young people, are asking for help to die.” Proverbs 12:10 says “The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Trump's signs Executive Order on Election Integrity In the United States, President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order Tuesday entitled “Persevering and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections.” The order directs states to require proof of citizenship when people register to vote in federal elections. The order also stated, “Above all, elections must be honest and worthy of the public trust. That requires voting methods that produce a voter-verifiable paper record allowing voters to efficiently check their votes to protect against fraud or mistake.” Births increased in states with abortion bans The National Bureau of Economic Research released a report on how abortion bans have affected birth rates. About a dozen states passed near-total abortion bans since the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022. This increased the distance to the nearest abortion mill from 50 miles to 300 miles for the average woman in those states. Notably, births also increased by 2.8% in those states compared to what they were expected to be without the abortion ban. Only 16% of Christians believe in Trinity Dr. George Barna released his latest research on American Christianity. About two thirds of U.S. adults identify as Christians according to the report. However, only 16% of self-identified Christians believe in the existence and influence of each person of the Trinity. That number falls to 11% among the general population. People who read the Bible daily and attend church weekly were more likely to believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Dr. Barna noted, “These findings about America's ignorance or rejection of the Trinity are simply another in a long list of examples of people living without the truths and life principles of God shaping their lives.” In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Partial solar eclipse this Saturday morning And finally, a partial solar eclipse is coming to parts of North America this week. The moon will pass between the sun and the Earth on Saturday morning for viewers in parts of the northeastern U.S. The sun and moon won't be perfectly aligned, so only part of the sun will be obscured. The spectacle will also be visible in eastern Canada, western Africa, and Europe. Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, March 27th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Drumroll....I am proud of myself for pumping out the ever popular Doula Diaries! I had a crazy week of births around the full Blood Moon of March 14, 2025. I went to a homebirth, a birth center birth, and 2 hospital births in the same week. Let's see how they all played out. This week was reminding me that birth is unpredictable. A short story on a woman contemplating a VBAC after two Cesarean Deliveries. Vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) after two cesarean deliveries (VBAC-2) is considered a viable option for many women, though it carries certain risks. The success rate for VBAC-2 is approximately 71.1%, which is slightly lower than the success rate for VBAC after one cesarean (VBAC-1). The risk of uterine rupture in VBAC-2 is 1.36%, which is higher compared to VBAC-1 (0.72%). Additionally, the hysterectomy rate for VBAC-2 is 0.55%, compared to 0.19% for VBAC-1. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) supports offering VBAC-2 to women who are appropriate candidates, emphasizing the importance of individualized counseling regarding the risks and benefits. A retrospective study found that VBAC-2 had a success rate of 76.1%, with no significant differences in neonatal outcomes compared to elective repeat cesarean delivery VBAC-2 is a viable option with a success rate of around 71.1%, but it carries a higher risk of uterine rupture and other complications compared to VBAC-1. Proper counseling and careful selection of candidates are crucial to optimizing outcomes. Content warning: baby loss "When a court sentences a pregnant woman to prison, they sentence her to a high risk pregnancy" There are hundreds of pregnant women in UK prisons - a third of them yet to actually be convicted of a crime. Babies born to women in prison are 7x more likely to be stillborn than the norm. In recent years, two babies died when their incarcerated mothers went into labour and their calls for help were ignored. Last month, harrowing stories emerged of women at HMP Bronzefield being unlawfully handcuffed to male officers during childbirth. Media Storm asks: will prison ever be a safe place to be pregnant? And if not, does the media care? And why, when debating this issue, did one LBC presenter get fixated on lamb chops?! (19:25) Plus, Helena delves into far more detail than anybody asked for when talking about the EastEnders storyline which saw the iconic character Sonia Fowler pregnant in prison - an example of pop culture's influence on real-life issues. Joining Media Storm this week is co-director of gender justice group Level Up, Janey Starling, and 'Anna' - co-founder of the Level Up campaign No Births Behind Bars, who was first sent to prison when 6 months pregnant. In this episode of Births at Home: The Podcast, I sit down with Kelly, a mom of four, birth doula, and birth photographer, to talk about her journey from hospital births to her first home birth in November 2024. While home birth is often portrayed on social media as calm, peaceful, and pain-free, Kelly's experience was a reminder that birth is raw, intense, and deeply personal. She opens up about the challenges of pregnancy, transitioning from OB care to traditional midwifery, and the unexpected realities of labor—including a five-hour pushing phase that tested her physically and emotionally. We also discuss how social media can create unrealistic expectations about birth and why it's important to honor every experience, even when it doesn't fit the “perfect” birth narrative. What You'll Hear in This Episode:✨ The realities of home birth vs. how it's often portrayed online✨ Kelly's journey from hospital births to her first home birth✨ The challenges of balancing doula work, military life, and pregnancy✨ Dropping OB care and trusting traditional midwifery for her fourth pregnancy✨ The emotional and physical demands of a long pushing phase✨ The importance of not comparing your birth to what you see on social media✨ Postpartum reflections—accepting your unique birth experience✨ Kelly's work as a birth doula, photographer, and her upcoming move to FloridaKelly's story is a powerful reminder that birth is unpredictable, intense, and transformative—and that no one experience defines what birth “should” look like.Resources & Links:
Story at-a-glance Childbirth is one of the most important life events, but over the last two hundred years, it has become highly medicalized and is no longer viewed as a natural life event. That shift has greatly harmed us Routine hospital interventions have many real risks that will be covered here The overuse of interventions often results in needing more interventions, including C-sections, all of which can be harmful to both the mother, the mother's bond to the child, and the long-term health of the child Immediate post-birth practices like skin-to-skin contact and delayed cord clamping provide significant benefits, yet hospitals often prioritize quick procedures over these evidence-based approaches The article will explore some of the most critical things to know about the home and hospital birthing process so that you can make the best decision for your family's health
