Meta Ads are more competitive than ever, and for many e-commerce brands, top-of-funnel purchase campaigns are not converting as easily or as quickly as they once did. This is especially true if you sell higher-ticket products, considered purchases, or non-essential items, where customers may need more time before they are ready to buy. In this episode, I'm breaking down a Meta Ads strategy I've been testing inside my mastermind called a funnel feeder campaign. It's a low-cost, top-of-funnel campaign designed to introduce new people to your brand, build engagement and create a warmer audience before asking for the sale. This is not a replacement for your purchase campaigns. It sits above them, helping feed your funnel with new prospects, stronger engagement signals and more social proof. In this episode, I cover: What a funnel feeder campaign is and where it sits in your Meta Ads strategy Why top-of-funnel purchase campaigns can be harder to convert right now How to use engagement or video view campaigns to bring new people into your world Why exclusions matter if you're trying to reach genuinely new audiences How this strategy can help build social proof on your existing ad posts When to test a funnel feeder campaign, especially if your account is new, low volume or struggling with top of funnel sales When not to bother with this strategy and where to put your budget instead The key metric I'd add to your Ads Manager dashboard when testing this campaign If your ads are feeling a little flat, this is a practical strategy worth testing. It gives Meta more signals, helps grow your warm audiences and can support the purchase campaigns already running in your account. Ready to feel more confident with your Meta Ads? If this episode has you thinking about your own ad account and what you could be testing next, eComm Ads Academy is now open for early enrolment. It's my 8-week small-group coaching program for e-commerce founders who want to understand their Meta Ads properly, make smarter decisions and stop relying on guesswork. You'll get instant access to the full learning hub when you join, plus live coaching, ad account reviews and support once the live round begins. Early enrolment is now open, and the first 10 people who enrol before 30 June also receive a bonus 1:1 call with me. Learn more and join here:https://www.jodieminto.com/eaa

After New World screwworm was confirmed in a calf from Texas, cattle futures climbed today and feeder contracts closed limit up. Grains continued their meltdown, with soybeans down over 25 cents as the demand picture for beans continues to look less optimistic. Wheat futures opened higher, but quickly fell under pressure from the row crops. Mike Zuzulo with Global Commodity Analytics recaps today's trade.

Cattle futures closed lower Friday as managed money appeared to exit positions ahead of the long weekend and in anticipation of bearish feedlot placements, which proved to be the case (see below). The war with Iran and the uncertainty around the trade deal with China weighed on commodities today. Feeder cattle fell with continued liquidation ahead of the Cattle on Feed report. Doug Simon with Tredas recaps today's trade.
This is a really insightful episode and pulled in a lot of pieces of the cattle business I think of daily. Feeder cattle, breeding cattle, genetic selection, data, data, data. Lyle from Highway 21 group has a great perspective on what his vision of the business is and how each part affects the next. He is clearly a man with knowledge of more than just pedigrees or feed charts. Highway 21 has a strong history in making things happen. The Miller family has seen some good times and some bumps along the road. Their ideas of the cattle business and long standing relationships have supported them through times of growth and change. To some change can be a scary thing, but with commitment and developing the skills to follow what the insights are saying, Highway 21 group has become a multi divisional family owned operation. They not only think about the cattle business, they are thinking about their own business in new ways to help manage the challenges of today and mitigate risk of those ahead. Grains closed lower today with sinking crude oil and fund liquidation as outside markets heavily weighed on commodities. Accrued losses in oil and higher production costs don't seem to be priced into grains enough. Feeder cattle were limit down ahead of tomorrow's Cattle on Feed report. President Trump Delays Beef Imports Earlier in the week, President Donald Trump delayed the planned signing of executive orders to allow increased beef imports into the U.S. and to support renewal of the U.S. cattle herd in an effort to address high beef prices. Last October, Trump ordered a quadrupling of beef imports from Argentina, and a month later removed his 40% punitive tariff on Brazilian beef and coffee. The moves did little to reverse beef prices, which were up 12.1% year-over-year in April, according to the Labor Department's Consumer Price Index. Beef is more than 16% more expensive than when Trump returned to office in January 2025. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has projected that the country will import a record 5.8 billion pounds of beef this year, up about 6% from 2025 and 25% from 2024. REFERENCE: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-sign-orders-boost-beef-imports-rebuild-cattle-herd-white-house-says-2026-05-11/ Feeder & Stocker Cattle Prices at Stockmen's Livestock Exchange Feeder and grass cattle continue to command bell ringing prices across the country. Last week Stockmen's Livestock Exchange in Dickinson, North Dakota was no exception. Strong demand and optimism rang through the barn as a group of Black and Black white face steers weighing 584 brought $502.00. A group of Black white face steers weighing 612 came in at 5 bucks. That's over $3,000 per steer, wow. Not done yet, here are 100 head of black white face steers weighing 727 at $444.00. 131 head of black white face steers weighing 852 sold for $380.00. Same excitement for the heifer mates. 70 head of black and black white face heifers weighing 642 brought $416.50. 48 head of Charolais Red Angus cross heifers weighing 726 brought $369.50. Bob talks with author Randi Minetor about her latest book "The Bear at the Bird Feeder". A previous guest on the podcast, her current book is about the rising number of human-wildlife encounters in or near peoples homes, and more importantly, how to prevent them. The book covers not only bears, but many other animals, including raccoons, coyotes and even alligators to name a few. The book - and conversation between Bob and Randi - gets into the specific behaviors of each animal featured, what they're attracted to and how to prevent interactions with them. This is a lively, fun and informative conversation and also timely as bears come out of hibernation. The book is published by Globe-Pequot and is available everywhere books are sold. April Was A Record Setting Month For Feeder Cattle Sales April wrapped up the month with tremendous action for many weight classes. 7 weight steers in particular surged in the month of April posting the second highest weighted average in US history at $399.87 - just shy of the $404.68 mark set earlier in the month. The all time top ten 7 weight steer weighted averages continue to be dominated by recent trade. April alone accounted for 7 of those top averages, with February holding the other three. That kind of concentration shows how quickly this market has accelerated through the spring, with multiple sessions pushing into record territory in only a matter of weeks. Atkinson Livestock Market (Atkinson, NE) hosted a Special Feeder Calf Auction on Tuesday, April 28th that delivered exceptional results, setting 17 steer records and establishing new all-time highs across multiple weight classes. A group of 40 head averaging 335 lbs brought $702.50, marking a new barn record for 3 weights and the first 10-head-plus sale ever over $700. In the 4-weight category, 28 head at 408 lbs sold for $611.00, a new record and only the second sale over $600 in barn history. Six-weight steers also set new highs, with 600–602 lb cattle bringing $497.00 and $482.50. The momentum continued with 40 head of 716 lb steers at $453.00, a new barn record and the third highest 7-weight price in U.S. history. Heavier cattle followed suit, as 54 head of 904 lb steers sold for $364.50, the first 9-weight sale over $360 and a new barn record, while 1,015 lb steers reached $326.00, the third highest 10-weight price in barn history and the highest since October. It was a standout day in Atkinson, Nebraska. Carolina's Own returns with a full breakdown of the 2026 NFL Draft, focusing on what it revealed about the ACC. The crew opens with reactions to the draft atmosphere in Pittsburgh and transitions into a deep dive on the conference's 38 selections, highlighting key names like Reuben Bain Jr. and discussing whether draft positioning truly reflects player value or team need. The conversation shifts into positional value and roster construction, emphasizing the importance of trench players and how offensive and defensive line talent continues to drive first-round decisions. From there, the group examines the growing perception of the ACC as a “feeder conference,” unpacking why skill players are leaving for the SEC and Big Ten while linemen tend to stay. A major portion of the episode centers on NIL and how it is fundamentally reshaping draft decisions. The hosts analyze whether top prospects should stay in school for guaranteed money versus entering the draft, and how NIL is thinning out the back end of the draft pool. They also discuss the risk-reward dynamic players face when transferring to higher-profile programs. The episode closes with a critical look at ACC programs that had zero players drafted, including North Carolina, Virginia, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech. The group evaluates what that means for recruiting, program perception, and long-term sustainability, with particular focus on UNC's situation under Bill Belichick. As always, the show wraps with perspective for both drafted and undrafted players, emphasizing that there are multiple paths to the NFL and success depends on capitalizing on opportunity. Cattle futures started the day higher and continued to rally right into the close with some technical support as we head towards the end of the month. Strong Spring Run For Feeder Cattle Sales Feeder cattle sales continue their strong momentum in prices being commanded this past week. Easter Monday proved to be busy across much of cow country. Joplin, Missouri led the charge by running 7600 head across the scales with Sioux Falls, South Dakota at 2482 head, Kingdom City, Missouri at 1161 head, Gainesville, Missouri at just a tick over a thousand head and Paris, Kentucky at 943. Joplin, Missouri was noted as a snappy market by Corbit Wall with good demand across all classes, noting feeder steers were steady to $15 higher and lighter weights $15 to as much as $50 higher. He also pointed out that runs were unusually light, with far fewer load lots than normal, which limited what went into the index despite stronger trends. In this episode, I sit down with Jordan Levi to explore how he's built a unique edge in the cattle industry by combining deep analytical thinking with real-world market experience. Jordan walks me through how he approaches cattle trading, the key biological and financial variables that ultimately determine profit and loss, and how he developed his framework without growing up in the business. These are both pro-focused, battery-powered pool vacuums that skip cords and external pumps, so the real question isn't “which is cooler” it's which one makes you faster and more consistent across the kinds of pools you clean every week.We get into the details that change your workflow: size and weight, cleaning path width, and how each unit handles steps, spas, fountains, and tight spots. I also compare battery runtime and what that means in the real world, including why a shorter runtime can still be plenty when the vacuuming speed is high, and how truck charging with a basic power inverter can keep you moving. If you've been debating whether 1.5 hours or 2.5 hours matters more, you'll like this perspective.Filtration gets a deep dive too. We talk debris bags and microns, aftermarket bag options, and the cartridge filter assembly upgrade that turns a cordless vacuum into a fine-dirt solution for silt, dead algae, and DE powder. I also cover the newer magnetic on-off switch and the design differences in the throat opening and thrust that affect suction and feel.If you want to stop guessing and buy the tool that matches your debris load and service style, hit play. Subscribe for more pool pro gear breakdowns, share this with a tech who's shopping, and leave a review with what vacuum you're running right now.• why the Bottom Feeder stays the pro benchmark for fast full-pool vacuuming• size, weight, and cleaning path differences that affect daily handling• battery runtime vs real-world productivity on a service route• charging speed plus how to charge in the truck with a power inverter• debris bag micron options, including aftermarket bags• cartridge filter assembly for fine dirt, dead algae, and DE powder• magnetic on-off switch upgrade and why it matters• throat size, thrust ring, and why the Shrimp can feel powerful• Send us Fan MailSupport the Pool Guy Podcast Show Sponsors! Manual vacuuming is one of those “just part of the job” tasks that quietly eats your day, especially when you're chasing fine dust that keeps slipping through a vac bag. I'm revisiting a tool that's been getting a lot of attention from pool service pros: the Bottom Feeder and Shrimp Cleaner cartridge filter adapter. After about three months of real use, I walk through what's actually different this time, why the older cartridge-style attempts never became daily drivers, and what the new threaded halo design changes in the field. We get into the real-world problem with vacuum bags and micron ratings: fine bags can clog fast, lose flow, and tear more easily, while standard bags let a lot of fine dirt pass right back into the pool. The cartridge assembly flips that script by capturing dirt down to roughly 10 to 20 microns while keeping strong water flow through the pleats. I also cover practical limits like how much dirt it can hold, what happens with leaf debris, and how to clean it quickly between stops so it stays efficient on a route.Deciding between the Bottom Feeder and the Shrimp Cleaner, I share how the cartridge behaves on both, a simple battery positioning hack, and the option to expand filter area with the extension kit. I'll also point you to where to buy the cartridge assembly and replacement cartridges. • why new pool products get skepticism and how the older cartridge adapter fell short• why vacuum bags struggle with fine dirt, low-micron wear, clogging, and suction drop-off• how the threaded halo lets us switch between bag and cartridge in about 10 seconds• how the cartridge performs on the Shrimp Cleaner versus the Bottom Feeder• battery positioning hack to prevent interference with the cartridge• realistic capacity for dirt and leaves plus when to switch back to a bag• fast rinse-out cleaning method and the value of carrying spare cartridges• compatible replacement cartridge models and the extension kit to expand filter area• how the dirt stays inside the cartridge and why flow stays strong• buying options anSend us Fan MailSupport the Pool Guy Podcast Show Sponsors! Dust lines, cloudy steps, and second passes with a manual vac eat time and profit. We tackled the root problem—fine debris slipping through bags—and put the Bottom Feeder Cartridge Assembly Kit 2.0 to the test. The result is a portable vacuum that captures down to about 20 microns without losing thrust, letting us collect leaves and silt in one run while keeping maneuverability in tight spaces like spas and benches. We break down why micron bags hit a wall as they load with dust, forcing water to bypass and spit from the bottom, and how a pleated cartridge changes the physics. The kit's reverse-flow, fully sealed canister uses a Unicel C9405 element to lock debris in the core, so nothing escapes when you lift it from the pool or move to a spa. Its compact size keeps the cleaner balanced and easy to handle, yet it still holds around a pound of dirt—enough to handle multiple dusty pools before a rinse. For heavy leaf jobs, the threaded halo lets you swap from cartridge to bag in seconds, so you can adapt on the fly.Expect no noticeable power drop compared to a bag; the Bottom Feeder and Shrimp keep full pull, and the five-inch throat on the Shrimp pairs especially well with the cartridge on top. When you add up fewer repeat visits, no manual vac setups, and longer intervals between cleanings, the ROI is clear—and the water clarity your clients see is even clearer.• fine dirt limitations of micron bags• cartridge filtration down to ~20 microns• Unicel C9405 compact specs and build• reverse-flow sealed canister design• capacity around one pound of dirt• when to use bag versus cartridge• maintenance tips and storage basins• thrust, balance, and power retention• price point, savings, and ROI• how to buy and available discountUse code DVB100 to save $100 on the Bottom Feeder or Shrimp at thebottomfeeder.com.Send us a textSupport the Pool Guy Podcast Show Sponsors!
