Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver. The liver is a vital organ that processes nutrients, filters the blood, and fights infections. When the liver is inflamed or damaged, its function can be affected. Heavy alcohol use, toxins, some medications, and certain medical conditions can cause hepatitis. However, hepatitis is often caused by a virus. In the United States, the most common types of viral hepatitis are hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. Hepatitis D, also known as “delta hepatitis,” is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis D virus (HDV). Hepatitis D only occurs in people who are also infected with the hepatitis B virus. Hepatitis D is spread when blood or other body fluids from a person infected with the virus enters the body of someone who is not infected. Hepatitis D can be an acute, short-term infection or become a long-term, chronic infection. Hepatitis D can cause severe symptoms and serious illness that can lead to life-long liver damage and even death. People can become infected with both hepatitis B and hepatitis D viruses at the same time (known as “coinfection”) or get hepatitis D after first being infected with the hepatitis B virus (known as “superinfection”). There is no vaccine to prevent hepatitis D. However, prevention of hepatitis B with hepatitis B vaccine also protects against future hepatitis D infection. Hepatitis E is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis E virus (HEV). HEV is found in the stool of an infected person. It is spread when someone unknowingly ingests the virus – even in microscopic amounts. In developing countries, people most often get hepatitis E from drinking water contaminated by feces from people who are infected with the virus. In the United States and other developed countries where hepatitis E is not common, people have gotten sick with hepatitis E after eating raw or undercooked pork, venison, wild boar meat, or shellfish. In the past, most cases in developed countries involved people who have recently traveled to countries where hepatitis E is common. Symptoms of hepatitis E can include fatigue, poor appetite, stomach pain, nausea, and jaundice. However, many people with hepatitis E, especially young children, have no symptoms. Except for the rare occurrence of chronic hepatitis E in people with compromised immune systems, most people recover fully from the disease without any complications. No vaccine for hepatitis E is currently available in the United States. (credits CDC)

Our friend became so ill that she should undergo a gallbladder surgery to remove her gallbladder. We decided against that!!! Because the operation harms more than it helps.Instead, we made with her a Liver Cleanse… Problem solved! The liver and gallbladder are so crucial for our well being:1.) Fatigue, lack of appetite, loss of energy, weight loss.2.) Jaundice.3.) After Chinese Medicine, the Liver is emotionally anger and compassion. How to do a Liver Cleanse?  Olive Oil: half cup (120 ml)(light olive oil is easier to get down),FRESH pink or yellow GRAPEFRUIT: 1 large or 2 small, enough to squeeze 1/2 (120 ml) cup juice. Wash the fruit in hot water two times first and dry well each time.Epson Salt 60g mix it with 720ml water.Take no medicines, vitamins, or pills that you can do without; they could prevent the treatment's success. Eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch such as cooked cereal, fruit, fruit juice, green Smoothy, vegetable with rice. (no butter or milk).2:00 PM. Do not eat or drink after 2 o'clock. If you break this rule, you could feel quite ill later. Get your Epsom salts ready. Mix 4 tbs. (60 gr) in 3 cups (720 ml) water and pour this into a jar. This makes four servings, ¾ (180 ml) cup each. 6:00 PM. Drink one serving (¾ cup - 180 ml ) of the  Epsom salts with water. Afterward, drink a little bit water to get that Epsom salt out of your mouth. 8:00 PM. Repeat by drinking another ¾ cup (180 ml)of Epsom salts.9:45 PM. Pour ½ cup (120 ml) (measured) olive oil into the pint jar.  Wash grapefruit twice in hot water and dry; squeeze by hand into the measuring cup. Remove pulp with a fork. You should have at least ½ cup (120 ml), or more (up to ¾ cup- (180 ml) is best. Add this to the olive oil. Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard or do it in an electric blender. It must be perfectly blended!!!Now visit the bathroom one or more times, even if it makes you late for your ten o'clock drink. Don't be more than 15 minutes late. You will get fewer stones.10:00 PM. Stand up, drink the olive oil with the grapefruit juice you have mixed. Get it down as fast as possible regardless of what…  (within 5 minutes for patience 15minutes) You might fail to get stones out if you don't get it down. The sooner you lie down, the more stones you will get out. Be ready for bed ahead of time. As soon as you have finished the drink, walk to your bed and lie down flat on your back with your head up high on the pillow. Try to think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a train of stones traveling along the bile ducts like marbles. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts!). Go to sleep, you may fail to get stones out if you don't.Next morning. Upon awakening take your third dose (180 ml)of Epsom salts. If you have indigestion or nausea wait until it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don't take this potion before 6:00 am.2 Hours Later. Take your fourth (the last) dose of Epsom salts. You may go back to bed again. My Video: How to do a Liver Cleanse? https://youtu.be/JhQr_tFIY4QMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.B/How-to-do-a-Liver-Cleanse.mp3

Dr Charlie Andrews talks to Dr John Leeds. John Leeds is a Consultant Pancreaticobiliary Physician and Endoscopist based at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer based in the Population Health Sciences Institute at Newcastle University. He is involved in research in pancreaticobiliary disorders including benign and malignant conditions as well as outcomes from therapeutic/advanced endoscopy.John is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology and Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. He serves on the endoscopy and Pancreas committees for BSG and is the website lead for PSGBI.He is also a founder member of the BSG Pancreas Clinical Research Group which is coordinating research for the society.Key Learnings from this episode:Challenges in Early Detection of Pancreatic Cancer • Pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed at an advanced stage due to the deep location of the pancreas and the lack of early symptoms. • Tumors in the body and tail of the pancreas can grow significantly before causing symptoms, often invading major arteries or veins, making them inoperable. • Tumors in the head of the pancreas may present earlier due to bile duct obstruction, leading to jaundice, but even these are often detected late. Early Symptoms and Red Flags • Early symptoms are vague or absent, making early diagnosis difficult. • Possible early indicators include: • Weight loss (often a sign of advanced disease). • New-onset diabetes, particularly in individuals with a normal BMI or without typical risk factors for type 2 diabetes. • Jaundice, which is a significant red flag and often indicates a serious underlying condition. • Classic signs like painless jaundice and Courvoisier's sign (palpable gallbladder) are important but not always present. Limitations of Current Screening Methods • There is no reliable biomarker or screening test for pancreatic cancer: • CA19-9 is not suitable as a screening tool due to its lack of specificity (elevated in other conditions). • Imaging techniques like CT scans or MRIs are used but have limitations, including incidental findings that may lead to unnecessary anxiety (“scanxiety”) and over-investigation. • Screening is currently limited to high-risk groups, such as those with familial pancreatic cancer syndromes or hereditary pancreatitis. High-Risk Groups for Screening • Familial pancreatic cancer accounts for less than 10% of cases. Criteria for screening include: • Multiple family members with pancreatic cancer, especially diagnosed under age 50–60. • Genetic syndromes like BRCA mutations, familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), and Peutz-Jeghers syndrome. • Hereditary pancreatitis patients have an increased risk but are harder to screen due to pre-existing pancreatic abnormalities. Emerging Research and Future Directions • Studies are exploring potential biomarkers, such as microbiome signatures in the pancreas, which might help identify high-risk individuals in the future. • Trials like the EuroPAC study focus on surveillance protocols for high-risk individuals using imaging techniques like MRI or endoscopic ultrasound. • Research into new-onset diabetes as a potential marker for pancreatic cancer is ongoing but currently has a low yield due to the high prevalence of type 2 diabetes unrelated to malignancy. Considerations for Screening and Surveillance • Screening should be carefully targeted to avoid over-diagnosis and unnecessary investigations. • The psychological impact of screening (e.g., anxiety from incidental findings) must be considered. • Smoking cessation is emphasized as smoking is a significant risk factor for pancreatic cancer. Advances in Treatment Approaches • PET-CT scans are increasingly used to detect systemic disease that might not be evident on standard CT scans. • Neoadjuvant treatments (therapy before surgery) are being... Send us a textIn this special Tech Tuesday episode of The Incubator Podcast, Ben and Daphna sit down with Anthony Wu, CEO of Capnia, Inc., to explore how end-tidal carbon monoxide (ETCO) monitoring is impacting neonatal jaundice management. Anthony explains how this technology, based on decades of research, provides a real-time, non-invasive biomarker for hemolysis and thus indirectly, bilirubin production, allowing clinicians to better assess and predict neonatal jaundice severity. Unlike traditional serum bilirubin tests, which only measure bilirubin levels at a given time, ETCO screening gives insight into hemolysis rates, helping identify newborns at risk for severe jaundice before complications arise.Anthony shares his personal motivation behind this innovation, discussing how his own children experienced neonatal jaundice and how many families suffer the emotional and financial burden of this pathology. He envisions a future where universal ETCO screening becomes standard practice, allowing for earlier interventions and reducing the risk of preventable neurological damage.Tune in for an eye-opening discussion on how this innovation could change the way we approach neonatal jaundice forever! It is not uncommon for newborns to have jaundice. This is due to elevated bilirubin, and may be a normal physiologic phenomenon. But if the bilirubin rises too high or too fast, this may pose a danger for the child. In this episode, we explain why jaundice occurs due to normal newborn bilirubin metabolism, what conditions may lead to increased risk of jaundice, how this is monitored, what are some of the consequences if this is not treated, and of course the common treatments and expected clinical course. Hey Listener, report to Sector 7-G, because this week's episode is all about The Simpsons. Sean Jaundice from Voodoo Monkey Tattoos , Church and State and Lavorté, and my why-fife Lauren Bishop sit down with me in a downtown Cleveland Air BnB to discuss one of our favorite television series of all time. Topics this week include: Being the front man of a band. Precious. The Simpsons vs. The Cosby show. The Simpson and COPS the cornerstones of FOX. Which Simpsons character do you identify with? Drop a Stupid on them. The drunks and the stoners are the best side characters. The best and worst celebrity guest stars. That name again is Mr. Plow. Our favorite Simpsons episodes. The neverending rabbit hole of Simpsons merch. Sitting around and remembering TV. The future of the show. More void, less responsibility.

How to do a Liver Cleanse?

Relax with Meditation

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 14, 2024

My Video: How to do a Liver Cleanse? https://youtu.be/JhQr_tFIY4QMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.A/How-to-do-a-Liver-Cleanse.mp3

Presently, I serve as a patient ambassador at City of Hope in Orange County, CA. Despite these victories, I find it difficult to celebrate, knowing so many others are still fighting this dreadful disease. I make myself available to talk to not only cancer patients about having a positive mindset but also to others that may be facing a challenge. There are twelve important signs of a gallbladder problem that I want to cover today. But, most of the time, a person with a gallbladder issue doesn't experience any symptoms at all. The majority of the time, a person has no idea they have a problem with the gallbladder. However, even though there are no major symptoms of a gallbladder problem, there are signs that can indicate your gallbladder is in trouble. Most of these signs are related to a bile deficiency because of a blockage, but excess bile can also lead to issues. Top signs of a potential gallbladder problem: 1. Visceral pain under the right rib cage 2. Nausea 3. Neck pain 4. Shoulder pain 5. Pale or gray stool 6. Floating stool 7. Itchy skin (especially at night) 8. Diarrhea, watery stool, and loss of control over bowel movements (from excess bile) 9. Dark urine 10. Jaundice 11. Vomiting 12. Constipation Top causes of a gallbladder problem: • Low-fat diets • A spike in estrogen • High cortisol • High insulin • PPIs The best remedies for gallbladder problems: • Purified bile salts (right after a meal) • TUDCA (on an empty stomach) • Fiber from salads It's also crucial to avoid a low-fat diet to support a healthy gallbladder. Instead, learn more about the Healthy Keto® diet in my other videos. DATA: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24321208/

She had to navigate conflicting medical advice and opinions on the ward which isn't an uncommon experience in the postpartum health space. I encourage you to listen to this episode because it really highlights the importance of breastfeeding education and having support people to advocate for you. EBB 262 - Advocacy During Birth and a Navigating a Hospital Stay for Newborn Jaundice with Emily Chandler and Taylor Washburn, EBB Childbirth Class Graduates

In this episode we talk with Emily Chandler and Taylor Washburn, EBB Childbirth Class graduates about their experiences in the childbirth class; their informed and empowered hospital birth; and how they navigated an extended hospital stay for newborn jaundice.   Emily, is a marine scientist, and Taylor, is a teacher and rowing coach in the Boston area. Together, they love hiking, biking, rowing, and taking advantage of the great outdoors. And they're also very busy taking care of their baby. While pregnant, Emily dove headfirst into learning about pregnancy, birth, and the state of maternity care in the United States. Emily and Taylor took the Evidence Based Birth Childbirth Class with EBB instructor Chanté Perryman.   Emily and Taylor share their experiences in the EBB Childbirth Class and how that informed many of the decisions they made regarding their birth plan, including Taylor being both inspired and empowered to “catch” their baby. They also share how they used the advocacy skills learned in class to better communicate with their providers and each other. After experiencing the birth they desired, complications arose when Emily experienced difficulty breastfeeding and inadequate lactation support. Difficulty was further exasperated when their newborn was diagnosed with jaundice leading to an extended hospital stay. Content Warnings: extended hospital stay due to newborn jaundice, “yellow baby,” difficulty breastfeeding, syringe feeding, lack of lactation support poor latch, heel pricks and bilirubin testing, treatment for elevated bilirubin, poor outcomes for Black and Brown infants with jaundice Resources: Access the CDC article on Jaundcie here Access the Evidence Based Birth® Signautre Articles on:  The Evidence on Premature Rupture of Membranes here  The Evidence on Group B Strep here  The Evidence on Pitocin® in the Third Stage here Listen to EBB 145- Fatherhood and Advocacy in Birth with JacMichael Perryman here Listen to EBB 244 - Evidence on AROM, AVD and Internal Monitoring here  Learn more about Chanté Perryman's EBB Childbirth Class and services here or on her Instagram account @babydreamsmc Learn more about The Nest Collaborative for lacation support here References:  Here are the scientific references on jaundice for the blog article: ·      Dunn, P.
