S2 E23: Doing Yoga will Turn Your Life Around with Yogini Dayna

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 30, 2021 40:47

In honor of the upcoming Mental Health Awareness month, we welcome fellow podcaster, Dayna of dayloustyles, to share her amazing story of how she improved her mental health by practicing yoga. For those of you who are new to yoga, or not into *yet* this is the perfect conversation to listen in. Dayna didn’t always believe in yoga. It wasn’t until she started finding all kinds of incredible health (physical and mental) benefits that can be received by doing it. Knowing what she knows about yoga now, she believes yoga is for EVERYONE. It has become her mission to teach yoga around the world to help people heal and improve their mental health and well-being. In Dayna’s words, yoga is so much more than exercise or stretching. It’s about meditating and being one with yourself. It’s about improving your well-being and your mental health. We are so proud of Dayna for all that she has overcome and her desire to help others overcome their struggles by teaching them what helped her overcome her’s. Join us for this inspirational conversation with Yogini Dayna. We know you will be feeling inspired to do yoga after listening to this episode! :) Xoxo, AM + AL Connect With Us: Instagram instagram.com/tiredgirlsinc/ Facebook facebook.com/tiredgirlsinc **READ DAYNA’S FULL BIO** Dayna Louvenia is a Wellness Blogger, fellow podcaster and Yoga Teacher in training. She didn’t always take yoga seriously, but now it is her passion to show people that yoga is for everyone. Dayna has always been reserved and kept to herself. She always knew that her mental health was on the rocks and hit rock bottom during her junior year of high school. She started experiencing suicidal thoughts, and it was a very difficult time for her. Thankfully, she had a few things that saved her. Coming from a spiritual family and people praying over her, and her love for traveling is what kept her from wanting to end her life. She didn’t want to miss out on being able to travel, experience different cultures, and seeing the world. Fast forward to April 2020, things started to become difficult again. Dayna was furloughed and found herself experiencing mild depression. She was tired of feeling this way and turned to her faith and asked God to take the feeling away. That’s when she stumbled across a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program that was offering a discount. That moment changed Dayna’s life forever. She began Yoga Teacher Training that same month and has never looked back. She has been enjoying the journey ever since and learning so much about the practice. It has had an amazing impact on her mental health, well-being, confidence, and her overall sense of self-esteem. Now it has become Dayna’s goal to learn as much as she can about the practice and teach it all over the world to help people heal and improve their mental health & well-being. If you have been feeling like you’re missing something in your diet and/or have been considering investing in supplements, then you are in for a special treat! In this episode, we chat with the Queen of Algae, Catharine Arnston, about this “super duper food” that does it all - the magical algae. Catharine is the CEO and Founder of ENERGYbits® and has dedicated the last 12 years to bringing Algae to America. We think it’s safe to say that mostly everybody knows they should be eating vegetables. What they might not know is we should actually be eating tons of it everyday. According to the USDA, the average American falls far short of consuming vegetables on a daily basis. That means we are not getting enough nutrients in our bodies. Thanks to Catharine and ENERGYbits®, getting efficient nutrition has never been easier. For example, because algae is so nutrient-dense, you can actually replace the need for veggies (www.energybits.com). That’s only one life-style benefit, but you’ll have to listen to the full episode to hear all of the amazing health benefits algae provides because it is truly mind-blowing how many there are. Catharine is an amazing person and a rockstar entrepreneur. We believe what makes her a strong entrepreneur is her vision and her ‘why’ behind what she does. She is determined to help people live healthier lives naturally and will stop at nothing to bring algae to America! Xoxo, AM + AL Connect With Us: Instagram instagram.com/tiredgirlsinc/ Facebook facebook.com/tiredgirlsinc **READ CATHARINE’S FULL BIO** Catharine Arnston is the CEO & Founder of ENERGYbits®. Her mission is to help the world be healthier naturally with mother nature’s oldest and original food- algae. Catharine graduated with an MBA from Ivey School of Business and a Health Coach Certificate from Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Her career spans thirty-three years during which she has been an international attaché for the Canadian and British Governments, publisher of an international magazine and the Founder of three startups. But in 2008 when her younger sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and advised by her oncologist to adopt an alkaline diet one because it would help her heal, Catharine put her career on hold to help her sister. In the process, she discovered algae, the most alkaline, nutrient-dense food in the world with healing properties that no one outside of Asia seemed to know about. Catharine knew algae would be a game changer for the world if she could just help everyone understand it better. If living a life of FREEDOM is important to you, listen carefully to Phoeb’s story and you will know the steps it takes to achieve it. Phoebe truly knows how to live it up. We are getting so pumped and motivated just by reflecting on our convo with Phoebe. Seriously, if your dreams and freedom are important to you, listen in and find out how it’s done! :) Here are some top tips for starting your business: 1. Don’t act on impulse. Make a plan. 2. Make contracts for your clients and lock in a minimum of 3 months - Phoebe uses the site for her contracts and invoicing: https://www.hellobonsai.com 3. Save yourself time, money and from headaches by outsourcing! A couple really good ones are https://www.upwork.com and https://www.fiverr.com We ourselves used Fiverr to create our podcast cover art! We highly recommend outsourcing if you can afford it, especially if you are working full-time or if you don’t have the time/skills/patience to do it on your own. We are so glad Phoebe brought this up! Lastly, TAKE ACTION STEPS! You know what they say, “Nothing changes if nothing changes.” Ain’t that the truth. Don’t let your dreams stay just your dreams. Give your dreams a chance to become reality by making plans and executing them accordingly! We know it’s not easy, but we’ve never lived in a time when it has been easier to pursue the life you want.
