Uphold Voices in Family is a bilingual podcast (English & Haitian Creole) that honors the multidimensional and intersectional influences of family (parental figures and childhood) experiences. The four pillars are inner self, physical self, surrounding environments, and intragenerational present histories. Let's heal, explore, think, reflect, learn, teach, cry, feel, analyze, laugh, meditate together on how our families impact us, and in turn how we impact them. It is about amplifying the value of holistic liberation, wellness, social change, and solidarity by knowing that what happens in our household is connected with what we do outside of it. Let's amplify the pathways of humanity and remember that how attuned we are to our inner selves reflect our interactions with each other. Let's cherish the journey of resilient teachings that foster the foundations of self-awareness while navigating through the influences of surrounding environments. Let's grow consciously for ourselves and our families. Each guest who is part of our growing village will invite us into an intimate doorway of their family livelihoods so that in turn, we as listeners can continue to flourish the relationships in our lives. This podcast is an extension www.upholdvoicesinfamily.com [organization] where families can submit literary and photography stories, campaigns, programs, events, directory of resources, partnerships, and many cherished opportunities. As we listen to your stories, know that we stand and advocate for them too. New Season? New Theme! This will include themes in addition to parental figures and childhood to learn from various interpretations of the word 'family' together. Episode drops bi-weekly on Sunday! The podcast is hosted by Nagiarry Porcena-Meneus (@nagiarry) with love, kindness, reflection, and gratitude in mind. Nagiarry will bring in reflections, ancestral insights, resources, storytelling, and her own family experiences along the way as inspired by the conversational theme. She is a writer, storyteller, wellness guide, human-geography advocate, learner, a seeker of cherishing people's stories amid their surrounding environments, encouraging space for our families to thrive.

Episode 2: Due to the recent and continuous racial injustices against black families, Nagiarry created this special episode to cultivate inner wellness and soothing energy through reflective meditation with her listeners. Based on the expressed grief of mothers and families throughout this past week, she desired to uphold their voices, by letting them know that their inner selves are valued. Each family who expressed and will express their stories matter to me. You, as our tribe of listeners in the family dynamic matter to me. As stories are being shared, this is my way of letting each of you know that your wellness is important. I am allowing this Sunday to be a time of reflection inward as we move towards episodes with our special guests in the weeks ahead. What are you giving yourself permission to embrace lately? Take 25 minutes of your day to be rooted, breath, give space for soft words, and empower the sacredness of your blackness and our inner selves with me. This is created intentionally for black families with healing, and poetic calming waves at heart. As someone who is also part of a family structure, with a family and parents, I too have continuously been navigating inward and cherishing that space. By catering to our multidimensional realities and identities, we can continue to cultivate our family relations. We can continue to uplift their beautiful blackness, stand with them, be with them, and let them know that they too matter in themselves, to you as well, and many others.Music Credit: Song of Mother by Benson.Season 1: Motherhood - In honor of the multidimensional ways that mother figures are striving to remain aware of the influences that their inner selves and surrounding environments have upon their children while cultivating their growth.Connect with Nagiarry - our host, and friend below:Instagram: @nagiarry & @upholdvoices#BlackLivesMatter #SayTheirNamesAdvocate against racial injustices by visiting the sites below:https://www.change.org/p/andy-beshear-justice-for-breonna-taylorhttps://linktr.ee/NationalResourcesListhttps://blacklivesmatter.carrd.co/
