In this episode… When receiving advice on where to take their life, many people have been told to “follow their passion.” While this can be helpful for some, this vague encouragement can be a nonstarter. The saying is predicated on an ideal that is not always realistic or even desirable in the long run. What if there was a better way to find purpose and success? Terri Trespicio is a speaker, advisor, and writer who has thoroughly explored this concept throughout her career. Her perspective on thriving in business is different from many but might be what someone needs to find their way.  In this episode of Access to Anyone, Michael Roderick is joined by Terri Trespicio to discuss her novel and her view on navigating the business world. Join us as we explore the concept of third spaces with Ronke Faleti, founder and CEO of korédé. Discover the benefits these spaces offer individuals seeking community and connection in an increasingly disconnected world. Ronke shares her personal journey and unveils the tremendous relief and freedom third spaces offer. We deep dive into how these spaces provide companionship without the pressure to conform, empowering individuals to be their authentic selves and remove stress from their lives.  Ronke Faleti is the visionary behind korédé House, a third space community that's not home (“first” space) or work (”second” space); that centers mothers with limited access to generational help or wealth; and addresses burn-out, isolation, and guilt. Ronke previously worked at JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo Advisors, overseeing initiatives around client experience, communications, acquisition, and retention. She's an entrepreneur, a visionary, an innovator, but above all, a loving mother to her four beautiful children.    Key Takeaways In an increasingly digital and disconnected world, third spaces offer a physical or virtual haven where individuals can find support, build relationships, and engage in meaningful conversations. There's an overwhelming pressure to conform to expectations, constantly explaining and proving oneself. Loneliness poses a significant challenge in Western societies and has a detrimental impact on overall well-being. Quotes “We might all read the New York Times, but we're not in the same community.” - Ronke Faleti “When you have a space, then you can create those kinds of programming, that storytelling in nature, and that creates community and the house takes care of the restorative care. Because the place you can just be, there's no need to be productive. We can be a human being not a human doing.”  “The environment dictates your level of confidence.” - Ronke Faleti “The problem that we were trying to solve with our social real estate platform, was that sick feeling that everybody gets inside when they think about all the things they have to do by themselves. They have to check all those boxes and things to not let them fall through the cracks. It's a lot.” - Daniel Jakubisin 3 Things What is something you possess that could be useful to someone else? Mark Magarian returns to the show to discuss the markets and the fundamental outlook for gold. Timing is key in these markets. Mark discusses the importance of managing risk and considering the fundamentals of assets. Volatility isn't necessarily the concern, but more importantly is their cash flow. Resource companies with diversification across metals and jurisdictions are important considerations. There have been a number of surprises over the past couple of years. Including the policies of governments and how some of them have persisted. We're dealing with the aftermath of the money printing, and we see the problems in logistics and supply. The Fed's fight on inflation is also very interesting, but inevitably the markets can't deal with high rates for very long. Many who invested in crypto markets may not have been interested in hard metals. Most larger players in the space aren't interested in metals either. They see crypto as a spin-off of tech related sectors. Crypto really is new tech. Silver can be a better speculative indicator than gold. Gold is increasingly looking quite attractive. A good indicator for gold is when the yield curve moves out of inversion. This indicates the Fed is choking, and gold usually has large moves to the upside. We're currently deeply inverted. Gold is quite hated and therefore, as a contrarian, there are some interesting opportunities. We will see $2000 gold again probably over the next 12 months and likely upwards of $2300 inside 18 months. He discusses ways of keeping gains during the next bull market. This sector is wild and discipline is key, avoid leverage. Watch for gaps up in the gold price and excessive media attention to the sector. Those are indications that it's time to take profits. The biggest risks in mining are mismanagement and share dilution. Find companies with good balance sheets and growth profiles. He has high conviction that uranium will move to $100 in the next five years. However, how it gets there is an open question in this market. Lastly, Mark discusses why oil isn't going away anytime soon and the journey to all electrics will take some time. The United States is being more cautious on energy and natural gas. However, we are still draining the strategic reserves for political purposes. Europe wants all the natural gas we can send, and the Saudis are cutting production slightly. A rise in energy prices this winter seems very likely, but may be somewhat short-lived. I discuss how this parallels my experience at BofA, and I explain how since the majority of the people interviewed in the article are with WELLS FARGO ADVISORS, how the clients, namely RICH RICH PEOPLE actually dictate how you hire based on their surveys and influence. Plus I talk about FOX 26 Fresno Reporter Marie Edinger's report on EDD Fraud which occurred on a poor woman to the tune of $16,000. I discuss how we shouldn't call these "fraudsters" and "fraudulent withdrawals" but I discuss how the crime occurred on Janyce in the story. One thing I discuss is how leaving the cash in the card is actually the worst thing you can do, how BofA treats ATM fraud claims. How the wording on the claim dictates if it gets approved or not. How people don't believe this fraud is possible although a 1991 movie featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger showed us it was easy even then. I also discuss how the narrative that chip cards would protect clients is false, and again I reiterate what chip cards actually protect (Aka NOT YOU, the merchant) and I mention how Marie's report will lead inevitably to the bank magically doing a 180 on the claim, and this lady will get her money back Check out this report. Despite being an attorney today, Jonathan will readily admit that he never planned on becoming one. And unlike other supposedly “accidental” lawyers, Jonathan has the track record to prove it. Look over his backstory and you'll see that law is actually his third career. Career #1 was spent at international delivery firm DHL as a District Operations Manager. Working in Manhattan, Jonathan was responsible for three facilities with hundreds of employees. Career #2 followed Jonathan's earning of an MBA and his subsequent transition into the financial services sector. Working at Wells Fargo Advisors, along with several boutique investment firms; Jonathan became well-versed in everything from deal structuring and asset management to life insurance and annuities. As an attorney, Jonathan Feniak believes that everyone has a right to privacy but realizes that there are businesses and individuals who want to take this right from you for their own purposes and profit. Accordingly, he believes that the first step in building a business and personal asset protection plan is to consider privacy and the steps which need to be taken to ensure it is secured from the start and maintained over time. Borrowing from the field of software development, Jonathan works with his client to uncover and explore individual and business "attack surfaces" and implement strategies which reduce and eliminate those attack surfaces to the greatest extent possible. Jonathan Feniak is an attorney and partner at Cloud Peak Law Group, P.C. and WyomingLLCAttorney.com. In this position, he helps business owners at nearly every level and in nearly every industry with asset protection, estate planning, and business formation. He also attends Covenant Seminary, where he is pursuing a divinity degree.   This week on the podcast Danny shares why he decided to pursue an opportunity outside the financial sector when he retired. He tells us what led him to the important work that Concordance does to reduce the reincarceration rate among participants released from prison in St. Louis. We also discuss why individuals that have been previously incarcerated, re-offend. As well as why it's so critical to research the root causes and put effective programs in place to help people heal, and make a success of the rest of their lives.   “The ripple effect of the impact that Concordance can have is extraordinary.” - Danny Ludeman   “It has to start with looking at the external environment objectively, and not seeing how the world looks or how you want the world to look, but how the world actually operates.” - Danny Ludeman   “If you want to solve the problem, you have to have a very holistic, comprehensive approach. And it starts with healing the individual.” - Danny Ludeman     This Week on The Wow Factor: Mentors who inspired and supported Danny in his early years Why Danny pursued a career in the financial sector, and what he did in his role as CEO of Wells Fargo advisors Some of the things Danny learned as he passed through different levels of leadership at Wells Fargo Points in Danny's life where he saw God's hand, including his introduction to the work of Concordance via a chance letter The work Danny does at Concordance and how he built the critical relationships that allowed them to put the strategic planning effort together How they raised about $10.5 million to pay for research to study the root cause of the problem of reoffending rates What Concordance learned from their research and how it helped them support people leaving prison in St Louis The impact of trauma in childhood on whether someone is likely to be incarcerated The importance of building trust with inmates while they are in prison, and how Concordance helps build a life plan for individuals leaving prison  Danny shares an inspiring story of a successful Concordance program graduate   Danny Ludeman's Words of Wisdom: Look for the opportunities around you to take your God given talents and direct them towards something that can truly change the world. In today's episode of the “Inside the Plan with the 401(k) Brothers”, host Bill Bush and Andy Bush, advisors at Horizon Financial Group, continue their ‘Generations Series' where they go generation-by-generation and talk about some of the saving habits and what's on the minds of individuals. So, in this second episode of the ‘Generations Series', they're going to talk about Millennials and their behavior when it comes to retirement and saving as per surveys and other resources.     Episode Highlights 01:24 – Andy states that Millennials' birth years include 1981 to 1996. So that makes these cohorts 25 to 40 or 41 at this point and their size is about 72.1 million which one of the bigger generations. 03:46 – This Generation had a decade of their formative years, where the market was very volatile and experienced some huge events that created downward movements which led them to be a little more conservative than they needed to be. 05:05 - The younger side of that generation has more time and some of them may choose to work longer than 65 because of a profession or something they enjoy. 07:35 – As per the Wells Fargo Advisors survey, 48% of millennials said the stock market is not a good place to grow their retirement savings. 10:00 – The SHRM study reported that this age group is more likely to ask for mentors ...about 42% ...or ask for training, about 35%, than the preceding generation, so they do want to seek some help and inquire...and that's good. 12:58 – Andy says, more than 50% of the working force couldn't sustain a $1,000 emergency, expenditure. They don't have the dollars saved up. 14:30 – This generation has already experienced some 30% + downturns, says Andy. 16:30 – Bill says, next time we're going to look at not what's termed as the greatest generation, but a pretty darn good generation ...must be ours...Gen X.     Three Key Points Many studies suggest and there's one that's probably pretty prominent...but a couple from Fidelity and JP Morgan both have some studies, they say by age 40, you should have already saved three times your salary... and at least six times your salary by age 50. When we look at our future, we don't look at the possible bad things that could go wrong. We typically think of all good things.  But there are a lot of bad things that could happen to us personally and it's not to say that we would desire that ...we don't desire the bad outcomes, but we do need to be aware that they can happen and not be naive that they could happen and be somewhat prepared. To all Millennials, as you're raising kids, establishing a home, and other stuff but be prepared, you do have to prepare, you're going to have a rainy day somewhere, and more than likely, you're going to and so be prepared for it.     Tweetable Quotes “Morgan Housel says, your perception, growing up kind of controls a lot of your behavior.” – Andy Bush “30% said they will be unable to retire comfortably until the age 70 to 80.” – Andy Bush “Millennial workers tend to be receptive to advice.” - Andy Bush “A lot of millennials seek some digital solutions to get their investments and finances in the right order, but they still want that affirmation that they're doing the right thing from a person.” - Andy Bush “This study found that millennials are especially drawn to employers that have a good work-life balance and a flexible schedule.” – Andy Bush   Resources Mentioned Horizon Financial Group - Website Contact Information: Bill Bush Andy Bush Podcast Editing

Do you know what is in what we are feeding ourselves, and our children? In today's episode, we're talking with Sterling Cook, the CEO of Green Compass Global and a proponent for the North Carolina Hemp Pilot program. Sterling has always had a passion for agriculture which led him to uncover the truth about the number of chemicals that are used in agriculture fields across the US. Tune in to learn why Sterling takes pride in Green Compass Global growing and formulating completely USDA organic hemp and CBD products, along with what you need to know and look for before going to the grocery store to keep your family safe from toxic chemicals.   In This Episode: [05:00] Growing up in the largest growing region for tobacco influenced Sterling.  [09:00] North Carolina market has changed due to importing goods from other markets. [12:00] Are farmers actually getting sicker because of the chemicals they are using on their crops? [18:40] Why Sterling only buys products that have USDA organic labels. [20:35] What does the USDA organic label mean for hemp products? [24:00] What does it mean to grow organic products?  [26:00] Are all the ingredients that go into Green Compass Global's products organic?    Key Takeaways: Oftentimes, we don't know where our food is truly coming from. Many farmers end up with cancer and different types of blood diseases that may be linked to chemicals used in their fields.  Consumers need to be educated about what healthy produce looks like.  Growing organic products starts with land that must be chemical-free for three to five years before growing anything.   Bio:  Sterling brings a diverse background in various leadership roles within the agriculture and financial services sectors. His most current role was that of chief restructuring officer for one of the largest sweet potato distributors in the world. He also spent six years as CFO in the produce industry, assessing organizational performance and guiding long-term strategy. Sterling has extensive knowledge in the areas of financial reporting and analysis, risk management and business development, human resources, accounting and administration, and overseeing a large-scale corporate farm operation. He's also held various positions with Wachovia Bank, Citi Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, and Wells Fargo Advisors.   Sterling has been a proponent for the North Carolina Hemp Pilot program since its inception and is excited about the future of what hemp will bring to the state. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and also holds a North Carolina Real Estate License. He enjoys being active in both his local business and alumni communities.
