Send Kris and Rob a Text Message! In this gripping episode of Hitched 2 Homicide, we unravel one of Virginia's most shocking murder-for-hire cases—the chilling story of Teresa Lewis. When Teresa married Julian Lewis, a recent widower mourning the loss of his wife of nearly 30 years, it seemed like a second chance at happiness. Julian, vulnerable from his loss, was caring for his three grown children: Jason, serving in the Navy; Kathy, who had moved home to support him; and C.J. Lewis, a promising 25-year-old Army Reservist. But behind closed doors, Teresa's true intentions were far from loving. Motivated by greed and driven by the promise of a $250,000 life insurance payout, she manipulated two young men—Matthew Shallenberger and Rodney Fuller—using seduction and the lure of wealth to convince them to commit murder. On October 30, 2002, a night meant for rest became a scene of horror as Julian and C.J. were gunned down in their own home. What initially seemed like a home invasion quickly unraveled into a chilling murder-for-hire plot masterminded by Teresa herself. As investigators dug deeper, the truth revealed betrayal, manipulation, and cold-blooded greed. While Shallenberger and Fuller received life without parole, Teresa was sentenced to death by lethal injection—becoming the first woman executed in Virginia since 1912.But was Teresa truly aware of her actions? With an IQ of 72, questions about her mental capacity ignited national debate. Was she a calculating mastermind—or a vulnerable woman with diminished intellectual ability, manipulated by those she believed she controlled?Join us as we explore the dark depths of greed, betrayal, and the controversial execution that made headlines across the nation.sources used for this podcastSupport the showJOIN THE HITCHED 2 HOMICIDE IN-LAWS AND OUTLAWSSTART KRIS CALVERT'S BOOKS TODAY FOR FREEH2H WEBSITEH2H on TWITTERH2H on INSTA

We discuss the importance of personal resilience, and the part it plays in fostering and nurturing emotional and psychological safety among teams. Importantly, we discuss how the display of 'love' by leaders for their teams is not a too strong of a word to use, even in a military context.

He has deployed on seven operational tours, including Kosovo, Sierra Leone, the Iraq war and Afghanistan three times. Brigadier Mahan has been an Army Reservist since his transition from the Regular Army in 2016, and was Deputy Commander (Reserves) 7th Light Mechanised Brigade Combat Team, before taking up his current position as Deputy Commander (Reserves) 1st UK Division.    Drawing from his experiences, Brigadier Mahan emphasised the importance of consistent and stable values and highlighted integrity as the pre-eminent one, due to the importance of creating trust between leaders and their teams. He also comments on how a leadership intervention can be pivotal in altering the dynamic of a team and the situation, and how establishing relationships with teams wider than your own, early on, can increase support later. He acknowledges the power of facilitating cognitive diversity in teams, allowing individuals and teams to find their own way using empowered delegation - a concept that the British Army recognises as Mission Command.

Congressional Candidate Stovall, an Army Reservist, is running for Arizona's 5th District. Stovall opens up about his military journey, breaking barriers, and shares his vision for the future. Alex would be the youngest Black Republican elected to Congress at age 29. As this episode unfolds, listeners can reflect upon his meaningful insights as he deploys compelling arguments, urging us to rethink our sociopolitical stands and challenge our preconceived notions about conservatism. Emerging as the promising candidate, his ideology focuses on unity, shared values, and the power of education, providing fertile ground for further discussion.  **Veteran Care** Recognizing the sacrifices veterans make, Stovall calls for a better understanding and commitment toward their welfare. As there are approximately 50,000 veterans in his district, he feels a personal obligation to care for them. He insists on the vital need to raise awareness and utilization of existing resources for veterans.  **Insights on Conservatism** Conservative beliefs, argues Stovall, are often misunderstood. These values are relatable to hard-working individuals. Conversely, experiencing hardship and scarcity can drive someone towards more progressive beliefs. Consequently, bridging this ideological gap is essential for national unity.  **Boosting Hispanic Outreach** The Republican Party is often criticized for neglecting Hispanic voters. However, our guest - military chaplain candidate and GOP congressman candidate - believes that a strong relationship can be established between the party and the Hispanic community. He sees potential alignment in terms of shared values and encourages a chance for conservative options for this significant sector of voters.  **Education and Empowerment** Stovall perceives education as the bedrock of development. By implementing knowledge and promoting critical thinking, he believes education can empower the populace. He emphasizes teaching conservative values and the idea of America as a land of opportunity.  **The Power of Education** A strong advocate of school choice, Stovall credits his personal and professional development to the switching from public to private school. He believes that quality teacher investment can fundamentally transform students' lives.  **Cartel Threats and Border Security** Stovall contends the need for enhanced border security, citing threats posed by the cartel. Disputing claims made by AOC about the composition of migrants, he maintains that unchecked adult males crossing the border pose a significant risk to communities. His analysis of the situation keeps the security and well-being of border residents a priority while also calling for a humane approach towards immigrants.

Three news stories summarized & contextualized by analytic journalist Colin Wright.Israel ‘expanding' ground attack in Gaza as Biden urges protection of civiliansSummary: Phone and internet connections were cut across the Gaza Strip over the weekend as Israel's military kicked-off what it has called the “second stage” of its attack on the occupied region, with the purported aim of destroying Hamas—the militant organization that governs the Strip—for good.Context: A lot has been happening in this part of the world since Hamas hit Israel with a sneak-attack a few weeks ago, killing and kidnapping many people and triggering this counterattack against Gaza—and to a lesser degree other targets in the region, as well; the big-picture outline of what's happening, though, is that Israel's government is seemingly bringing soldiers and military hardware into Gaza, following a period in which they were mostly firing missiles and launching air strikes, its allies are generally supporting their efforts, though are also suggesting they avoid civilian casualties and other potential war-crimes, and while we don't have terribly accurate numbers on this right now, the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has said that more than 8,000 people have been killed by Israel's attacks since October 7.—The New York TimesOne Sentence News is a reader-supported publication. It's Friday, October 27th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Christian student forced to convert to Islam Personnel of Kaduna State University in Nigeria, Africa have aided in the kidnapping and forcible conversion to Islam of a Christian student, reports Morning Star News. Dorcas Adekanola, a 20-year-old, first-year chemistry student at the university, was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Students when other members noticed her absence last month, according to leaders of Campus Mission Watch. Her parents received a phone call on September 20 from Christian students saying they were distressed that she was acting strange before her disappearance. The Campus Mission Watch leaders said, “She was always looking scared, which shows she was being threatened by the Islamists on campus. Dorcas was also not seen on campus for some days.” 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” Please pray for Dorcas' safe return. Biden authorized strikes on two Syrian targets connected with Iran Last night, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said, “Today, at President Biden's direction, U.S. military forces conducted self-defense strikes on two facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated groups. “These precision self-defense strikes are a response to a series of ongoing and mostly unsuccessful attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria by Iranian-backed militia groups that began on October 17,” reports ABC News. The airstrikes were reportedly in response to recent attacks on U.S. bases that left nearly two dozen American service members injured. 18 dead, 13 wounded in Maine by suspected gunman, an Army reservist On Wednesday night, a gunman shot and killed at least 18 people and injured 13 others at a bar and a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine, reports NBC News. Seven people were found dead at the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley, eight were found dead at Schemengees Bar and Grille, and three were pronounced dead at area hospitals. Listen to what one eyewitness at the bowling alley said. WITNESS: “Out of nowhere, he just came in and there was a loud pop.” He ran down the bowling lane to hide for safety. WITNESS: “I just booked it down the lane and I slid basically into where the pins are and climbed up on the machine and was on top of the machines for about 10 minutes until the cops got there.” Another bowling alley witness, named Brandon, explained what he heard and did. BRANDON: “I heard something. It was gunshots. I heard a shot and I had to drop my bowling ball and I told everyone to leave. I opened the door. I told them, everyone to leave. And I ran in the woods with a bunch of people that I know.” Tragically, several of his friends in his bowling league died in the murderous rampage. BRANDON: “I lost like three or four friends, just friends that I know.” Jason Levesque, the Mayor of nearby Auburn, Maine, explained what they did with the witnesses on Wednesday night. LEVESQUE: “We took the witnesses of the two locations we actually brought them to a holding area so we can interview them, clear them. And then we wanted to bring them all over here so they can have what we call a ‘reunification process' with their loved ones which is the proper way to do it. We wanted to make sure that evidence can be gathered and then the proper protocol can be followed.” Police named Robert Card, age 40, as a suspect in the shootings, and an arrest warrant on murder charges has been issued. The Army Reservist sergeant 1st class, remains at large. He is considered armed and dangerous. In July, Army Reserve officials reported Card for “behaving erratically,” and he was transported to the nearby Keller Army Community Hospital at the United States Military Academy for “medical evaluation,” reports CNN. Card is a petroleum supply specialist in the Army Reserve and first enlisted in 2002, While Card has no combat deployments, he was considered a skilled marksman who was one of the best shooters in his unit. House Speaker Johnson: “Prayer is appropriate in a time like this” In related news, House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana underscored the importance of prayer, that there would be no more loss of life, reports WWL-TV. JOHNSON: “We are receiving information about this horrific tragedy. It has moved everyone in the Congress, as you might imagine. Our hearts go out to all those involved. The families, of course, of the victims. And we're so grateful for law enforcement. We trust and hope and pray that they're able to apprehend this individual as quickly as possible, there's no more injury or loss of life. This is a dark time in America. We have a lot of problems. We're really, really hopeful and prayerful. “Prayer is appropriate in a time like this, that the evil can end, and this senseless violence can stop. That's the statement this morning on behalf of the entire House of Representatives. Everyone wants this to end.” Being lonely is equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day And finally, a new Gallup poll reveals that more than a billion people — or close to a quarter of the world's population — are struggling with loneliness, reports The Christian Post. Younger adults are more likely to suffer from the condition, which health experts warn can have the same effect on health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. The survey was conducted in 142 countries and areas worldwide, excluding China, the second-most populated country in the world. Ellyn Maese, a Gallup researcher, said, "Research shows that loneliness is associated with elevated risk for a wide range of physical and mental health conditions, making research on loneliness a critical first step to improving health and wellbeing worldwide.” The data suggests older adults — people 65 and older — reported the lowest incidence of loneliness, with just 17% saying they were feeling "very" or "fairly" lonely. Among young adults aged 19 to 29, however, 27% of respondents reported feeling very or fairly lonely. Perhaps God can use you today to reach out to someone you know who might be lonely.  Send that person a hand-written card, make a call, or invite them out for a meal. In 1 Corinthians 12:26, Paul wrote about the body of Christ.  He said, “If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, October 27th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Drew Haney is probably the laziest land flipper you'll ever come across – his words, not ours! But that hasn't stopped him from building an absolute juggernaut of a land business. In fact, it's largely what's fueled his success, both in and out of land. Laziness unlocked the power and leverage of delegation, empowering his team to handle more so he could focus on his sweet spots. For Drew, that meant double-down on networking because relationships are assets. “People bring opportunities” as he puts it. Networking is where his mastermind with land investing stars Jarren Barnes, Ajay Sharma and Peter Nukasani started from (all guests of ours by the way!) and also what turned him into a partner at Circle Stone Capital. In this very wide-ranging episode, we discuss everything from his background in the Army to being naked in a South Korean spa with one of Pebble's founders to his journey to the top of land investing. During the interview, Kris describes how she left her hometown in Wisconsin and became an entrepreneur at an early age, how the military helped prepare her for success, how she shattered glass ceilings and led a global luxury hotel company, some of the leadership lessons learned while leading the global company Rock Springs Retreat Center was founded by Kris Intress, a mother, entrepreneur, Army Reservist, and former CEO of a global luxury hotel company. Kris started working in her teens. By 17, she was already an entrepreneur, running a restaurant, teaching French, and working several jobs. After a few years she followed the family tradition of military service. She joined the Army with the goal of getting into healthcare through the Army's pharmacy program. She later met her son's father in Scotland and together they opened several restaurants and nightclubs. When she returned to the United States to raise her son, she went back to school to complete her college degree, which led to an interest in theater. After her first play, she was spotted by a casting director who invited her to Los Angeles to audition for a movie. Los Angeles agreed with her, and she worked on a variety of film, television, and theater projects both in front of and behind the camera. In between projects, she started working for and running a medical company, which ultimately inspired her to get an MBA. With her MBA in hand, she worked as the Director of Sales and Marketing for a large international healthcare company. She then pivoted to hospitality when she saw an opportunity to invest in and turnaround hospitality software company. Growing the organization from representing 700 properties in the US to 7000 properties internationally. After selling the company, she was asked to be the CEO of WorldHotels, a global luxury hotel company. As a corporate executive that struggled to find time for her own health, she realized her career was taking over the need to prioritize her wellbeing. She watched her parents struggle with obesity their entire lives. After Kris lost her mother, she decided to help people take control of and transform their lives. When creating Fit Farm at Rock Springs, Kris was inspired by her husband's family, generations of farmers. Farm life provided natural opportunities to eat fresh foods and be active. She created a place where everyone could experience eating well, being active and experiencing the natural beauty of eliminating the noise around us. On top of her already impressive career, Kris is a certified personal trainer and a former athlete. She has an MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.

Kris' entrepreneurial background started with her first business at 17, she eventually joined the Army, moved overseas opening several restaurants and bars along the way, bought and turned around a hospitality technology company and became the CEO of WorldHotels. She's now the Founder & CEO Rock Springs Retreat Center in Tennessee, an exclusive 24-room retreat that helps people refocus on the benefits of good habits, a positive outlook, fitness, food and connections with others. The retreat was inspired by her own struggles with balancing work demands and her own wellbeing - something that those working in the hospitality industry know all too well - and through it all, she's bucked traditional views on leadership in our industry, doing more than simply talking about it, but practicing it everyday. What I appreciate about her message is that whether it's due to a lack of self awareness, ego or myopic behavior, we're the ones who place ourselves in unsustainable situations, and we have the power to change our circumstances by cultivating the right support system.
