Tim Houston is an Albany, NY based guitarist, writer, and composer who is most commonly known for his role as a touring guitarist in Remo Drive. Tim also played pedal steel guitar on Remo Drive's most recent album, Mercy. In addition to his work with Remo Drive, Tim fronts his own jazz band known as Tim Houston Trio. Zak Ward is a guitarist, guitar luthier, entrepreneur, sales manager, and enjoyer of music. After working for Reverend Guitars for the better part of a decade and finding himself with loads of free time during COVID-19, Zak began building his own guitars. This led to Zak developing Quader Guitars, which is his own guitar company. Through Quader Guitars, Zak constructed the first A-hole guitar to ever be assembled and documented it all on his YouTube channel. In addition to building guitars, Zak is the sales manager for Souldier Guitar Straps and plays in the Northwest Ohio band Screaming Heathens. The Stallions continue their Ohio artist album review series with Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon: The End of Day. Released in 2009, Man on the Moon: The End of Day offers a slew of notable guest features, unique psychedelic hip hop sounds, and production from many high-profile names, including Kanye West, Plain Pat, and Emile Haynie, among others. Kid Cudi's Cleveland roots are discussed throughout the album along with lyrical themes of internal conflict and family dysfunction. Check it out!
The Currents are a four-piece band hailing from Toledo, OH. This highly talented group blends a variety of genres and styles to foster a sound that falls somewhere within the alternative/indie rock realm. The band consists of band leader/rhythm guitarist/vocalist Luis Gomez, drummer Emilio Alvarado, bassist Matt Cashin, and lead guitarist Tanner Wertz. Released in 1985, Who's Zoomin' Who? is Aretha Franklin's thirtieth studio album. The record is heavily influenced by the dance-pop and synth-pop sounds of the 1980s and signified a change in sound for Aretha Franklin. Her previous two albums were produced by the legendary Luther Vandross, but Aretha decided to work with Narada Michael Walden on Who's Zoomin' Who? The album was certified platinum in the United States and has iconic guest appearances sprinkled throughout it.
The Stallions continue blazing through their Women in Music, Part II album review series by welcoming Klep's wife, Gabrielle Michel, to the show to discuss folklore by Taylor Swift. This album is Taylor's eighth studio album and marks a deviation in style from the power pop albums that proceed folklore.

He is actively involved in three bands right now, which include Red Devil Ryders, Marty Brass & The Lavender Jets, and Science Man. Released in 2016, this album was created following the conclusion of a seven-album record deal that Rihanna signed with Def Jam at the onset of her career. This album features a uniquely different sound than Rihanna's previous seven albums, and is full of different musical influences and styles.
Jevaughn Bogard is a composer, conductor, saxophonist, and the band leader of Abstract Sounds. Jevaughn's deep knowledge of jazz and music theory is evident in anything he creates, and Abstract Sounds is no exception. Their groovy fusion jazz sound will have you dancing. Spruce & Klep kick of the Women in Music, Part 2 album review series with the legendary album, released in 1984, I Feel For You by Chaka Khan. After balancing her role as the lead singer of Rufus and her own solo career, Chaka was finally able to focus all her attention on her own music when Rufus disbanded in 1983. I Feel For You was Chaka Khan's first solo album after the dissolution of Rufus and her most popular album in terms of record sales. The album I Feel For You would end up being nominated for a Best Female R&B Vocal Performance Grammy Award in 1986 but lost out to Aretha Franklin's Freeway of Love. The song I Feel For You did win a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance in 1985 though. The 10 tracks that make up I Feel For You are one of a kind, and the unique sound that Chaka cultivates in this record will mesmerize anyone.
Freak Out! is the debut album of The Mothers of Invention. Also known as The Mothers, The Mothers of Invention were coined for their innovative musical experimentation and willingness to challenge the status quo. Freak Out! encapsulates that spirit from track 1 to the end. Released in 1966, Freak Out! is the first two-disc debut album.
Spruce & Klep welcome Julius Sciarappa to the show to discuss the debut album of indie rock band Mt. Joy. This album launched Mt. James Berkeley is a UK-based artist, composer, educator, and producer. James released a single in March 2023 titled Run Through My Mind. In August 2023, James released another single titled Lately. Both tracks embody R&B, soul, jazz, and hip-hop. James is also the lead singer and keys player in the band Yakul. Yakul released a four-song EP in May 2023 called Outlines. Similar to James Berkeley's solo music, Yakul's sound draws influences from R&B, funk, jazz, soul, and hip-hop. Selling over 17.2 million copies worldwide, Hybrid Theory is the 43rd highest selling album and 31st highest selling studio album of all time.
Reasonable Doubt is the debut album of legendary rap/hip-hop artist Jay-Z. This RIAA certified Platinum album contains 14 tracks driven by groovy bass lines, rhythmic vocals, and engaging lyrical subject matter. This album would be the first of forty studio albums released by Jay-Z's record label, Roc-A-Fella Records.

We kick off this next album review series with Van Halen's self-titled debut album. This is the first of six debut albums that we will be reviewing over the coming weeks and months. Released in 1978, this breakthrough album features eleven electric tracks that will get the party started. Classic Van Halen hits, such as Runnin' with the Devil, Ain't Talkie' ‘Bout Love, Jamie's Cryin', and You've Really Got Me, can be found on this record.
Nick Chagin is vocalist and keyboardist based in Chicago, IL (for now). Nick was in an a cappella group called Open Fifth during his college days at Miami University. During his time with Open Fifth, Nick was featured on two full-length studio albums and a Christmas EP. Nick also played in a band with Klep when they were in high school, and they share a lot of the same music taste. Derrick McKenzie is the drummer for the UK-based acid jazz band Jamiroquai. He's been with Jamiroquai since 1994. Derrick played in a variety of bands prior to Jamiroquai, including Tranzeyance, Candyland, Freaky Realistic, and Urban Species. Derrick is also a DJ, and he has performed with some remarkable talents in the electronic space. Derrick dives into all aspects of his music career. He's a super interesting guy, and we think you'll enjoy this episode!

Tony Momrelle is an extraordinary talented vocalist and songwriter from the U.K. Tony has a decorated career as a solo artist with several releases spanning over the course of over two decades. He is a vocalist for the acid jazz band Incognito and the soul band Sade. Tony shared some amazing stories with us that you won't want to miss!
Juniper is a three piece indie rock band from Boston, MA. We were lucky enough to talk to all three of the gentlemen who make up Juniper. Scott is the lead singer and primary songwriter, David plays guitar and does backup vocals, and Ale is the drummer. Trevor Adams is the sole founder, lead singer, and guitarist for Son of Scott. Trevor originally started Son of Scott in 2020 as a solo project, but it has since evolved into a full band. He is also the bassist for The Anaconda Vampire Bats, who are a high-energy indie punk band. Trevor is in the process of revitalizing his first band, Johnny in the Grave, and rebranding the band as Vegan Cannibals. He has also started hosting open mic nights on Wednesdays at Dunlap's Corner Bar in Cleveland, OH.
