A simple definition of Eminent Domain is when the Government uses its power to acquire or seize private property. This may be like land or a house with the intent to use that property for something that helps the public. Compensation (that means money) is offered but what could be long some of the lasting impacts to the seller? Current market value does not necessarily equate to long term appreciate or loss of value on remaing value to private property. That is what the Real Siblings discuss on their latest episode. Donna Reed and Eric Seemann are both professional real estate agents. Donna lives and works in Tucson Arizona with Keller Williams Southern Arizona while Eric lives and works in San Antonio Texas with Keller Williams Heritage. They are also siblings, and they grew up in a small Northwest Ohio village of Lindsey. Their idyllic small-town childhood laid the foundation for what would become the structure of their lives and careers in real estate. We hope you will join us as we reminisce, reflect, and correlate how our childhood and life in rural Ohio still impacts our dealings with our clients today. Jeffrey Mosher welcomed Butch and Niki Irwin, the father-daughter team behind the Comfort Keepers of Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. He had several questions for them in this interview just ahead of Fathers Day: The Origin Story: "Butch, your pitch mentions your grandfather as a key inspiration. Can you tell us more about that memory and how it shaped your understanding of care and led you into this field?" Father-Daughter Dynamic: "Niki, how has working with your father, Butch, influenced your professional path? What are the unique strengths each of you brings to running Comfort Keepers as a father-daughter team?" Defining "Care": "Your pitch states you're 'redefining what it means to care.' In your own words, what does that mean to you, and how does Comfort Keepers of Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio embody that philosophy?" Clinical vs. Personal: "You emphasize a 'clinically informed, deeply personal approach.' Can you give us an example of how those two elements come together in the care you provide?" Building a Legacy: "Butch, as a multi-generational business, what does 'building a legacy' mean to you in the context of senior care? What hopes do you have for the future of Comfort Keepers?" Challenges and Triumphs: "What have been some of the most significant challenges and, conversely, the most rewarding triumphs you've experienced in nearly a decade of running this business?" Community Impact: "How do you see your presence impacting the communities of Monroe and Brooklyn, Michigan, and Perrysburg, Ohio? Are there specific needs you address in these areas?" The Caregiving Industry: "From your perspective, what are the most pressing issues facing the senior care industry today, and how is Comfort Keepers adapting or leading the way?" Family Involvement: "Beyond the two of you, how have other family members become involved, and what roles do they play in the operation?" Future Vision: "What's next for Comfort Keepers of Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio? Do you have plans for further expansion or new service offerings?" » Visit MBN website: www.michiganbusinessnetwork.com/ » Subscribe to MBN's YouTube: www.youtube.com/@MichiganbusinessnetworkMBN » Like MBN: www.facebook.com/mibiznetwork » Follow MBN: twitter.com/MIBizNetwork/ » MBN Instagram: www.instagram.com/mibiznetwork/ Comfort Keepers is a leading provider of in-home, non-medical care for seniors and other adults in need of assistance with daily activities. A significant part of the home buying process is the time allocated or afforded to the buyer to select an inspector (or inspectors) of their choice to come in an check out the home. This independent impartial party and their findings and report are an integral part of the process for the buyers. As of this recording both of the siblings, have active buyers who are just completing their inspections. What better time to discuss: Why this is important and How it assists the buyers and their agents in determining to "Walk Away" because of major hidden defects or to negotaiate with the sellers for some items to be serviced and repaired. There are a lot of things to consider when you prepare to relocate to a new area of the country or world. This may be exponentially more difficult if you a Baby Boomer or Gen X. The implications are considerable. New Doctors, New Church, New Specialists. Today, the siblings leverage a conversation Donna had with a national group of BNI real estate agents about the challenges, opportunities and considerations that are required to help a Young (or Old) Baby Boomer relocate to new town, new state, new time-zone, new, new new. Everything that was comfortable and familiar is possibly long gone. As real estate agents, our expertise goes well beyond the showings and transactional components of relocating. In many cases your real estate expert is your first, best (perhaps only) contact for navigating and connecting to your new city and neighborhood. Take advantage of our expertise and knowlegde. We can get you connected. If you don't take full advantage of us, then you are missing something good (likely great)! Donna Reed and Eric Seemann are both professional real estate agents. Every spring in Northwest Ohio, the shores of Lake Erie transform into a birder's paradise. Birder and author Kenn Kaufman, who lives in this area, says that of the many species that migrate through here, one group of vibrant, vivacious songbirds stands out from the rest: warblers. Trees leaf out later in the season along the lakeshore, making the tiny warblers easier to see as they forage for food. Northwest Ohio has earned a reputation as the Warbler Capital of the World among birders in the know. But Kenn wishes everyone could glimpse the beauty of warbler migration, even if they don't make it to the Warbler Capital.More info and transcript at BirdNote.org.Want more BirdNote? Septically speaking we are "diving in" (okay maybe not) in a discussion about On-Site Sewer Systems (OSS). Regular listeners know Eric lives remotely and that requires certain items on the hillside to live. Commonly know as a Septic System the OSS is absolutely critical to being able to safely live in a remote (or maybe not so remote location). From laundry water, to shower water to toilet water and all it's contents it all has to go somewhere when you don't have access to a public sewer system (like most residential homes). When you draw water from a well on the same hillside, it is critical to the environment and your health that the system is functioning and performing optimally. Join as we talk CRAP, you won't WASTE your time. Donna Reed and Eric Seemann are both professional real estate agents. Sometimes, despite all of the discussions and planning, buyer finances can experience a jolt as they approach closing day. At a minimum the financial institutions involved in a transaction for approving a buyer for the purchase of a property is simply not as simple as we all would like to beleive.
