Sound your funky horns...it's Episode #50 of Badass Records Podcast, and what a ride it's been so far!I hope there're many more episodes to come and that you'll keep tuning in to see the latest and greatest conversations with all of my amazing guests. But, now -- without any further ado...let me tell you about how excited I am to share this week's episode with you.Sometimes, as we make our way through our days, we stumble upon opportunities for new connections. I could be sitting here typing these words, preparing to drop my 50th podcast episode, and the road to today could've looked different. That difference could've been tiny; it might've been huge. And who knows. Maybe everything'd be just fine.Things went the way they went, though, and I wandered across a connection with Steph' Rupp. And instead, everything is great. She's a daughter and a sister and a business owner with an electric smile. She's a designer, a photographer, and a professional ultimate frisbeer with a killer sense of humor. She's a dog lover, a soon-to-be wife, and a cheese connoisseur like no other. And above all of that, she's my Web/design gal.I'll pause here for the thunderous applause in your head to subside.Although she initially turned down an invite to join me on the B.R.P., she -- of her own accord -- changed her mind and surprised me one day in a cute, little, nonchalant corner of an e-mail message about something else. And to paraphrase, she did so because she believes in examining new things and challenges. What's not to love.Steph' Rupp gave me a heckuva list of records to touch on, and they were these:Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2004) & The Black Parade (2006), My Chemical RomanceFall Out Boy's From Under the Cork Tree (2005), Mania (2018) + everything in betweenThey're Only Chasing Safety (2004), Define the Great Line (2006), & Voyeurist (2022), UnderoathLoveless' Loveless I (2021)Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (2022), Kendrick LamarIf that's not a (Nature Boy) Ric Flair, "Woo!" right there, I don't know what is.But...but.Checking out her records was a treat. Our chat was a treat. And she...is a treat. So please check out this super-special episode, and don't forget to give the Merch' page a peek on your way out.Thank you.copyright disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the intro/outro audio. And what's so special about the spooky movie you (me) wanna talk about?  I want to thank the wonderful guests who submitted interviews for this fun community episode: Jenn Owens from My Streaming Bubble (Movie: Nightmare on Elm Street) Skylar from Kawaii Desuppointment (Movie: Scream) Johnny from Flores Podcast Consulting (Movie: American Werewolf in London) Cake from Nymphomercial (Movie: Noroi the Curse) Joe Shannon from Phantom Jukebox (Movie: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil) Amber from Witches Talking Tarot (Movie: Trick r' Treat) Tim Nunez from friendship (Movie: It Follows) Ernie from From Under the Apron (Movie: Nightmare on Elm Street)  Ty Lindsay from Phantom Jukebox (Movie: The Thing) Follow everyone everywhere (all at once)! I loved hearing these fine folks' thoughts and feelings on these movies and why they're special - and spooky - to them. Thanks everyone, and thank YOU, listeners, and readers of these here words. You might think that being a twin means you'll experience the world around you similarly. Not so, says identical twins and authors Joan and Jane, former therapists turned psychiatric entertainers. Perhaps it was their forced separation by medical staff when they emerged as preemies and sequestered from one another and all physical touch for a prolonged period of time. But each twin felt and acted out their shared experiences differently. You will learn:Even tiny infants can bear lifelong impact when dealing with trauma.Despite the same DNA and life experiences in early childhood, trauma can present differently for twins.Respect, compassion, and humor are critical ingredients to work through conflict. For show notes, click HERETheir book: From Under the Hood: Therapy Twins Guide to a Smoother RideTo connect with Therapy Twins, click HERE.Lizbeth's linksBuy Lizbeth a Coffeehttps://www.buymeacoffee.com/LizbethMeredithLizbeth's memoir, now a movie! Sooner or later, Columbia House Party had to tackle 'The Only Album.' Hosts Jake Goldsbie and Blake Murphy are joined by Andrew Zuber of Sportsfeld to dissect the quintessential mid-2000s pop-punk album, Fall Out Boys' From Under the Cork Tree. Dripping in sarcasm and self-deprecation, From Under the Cork Tree makes it's sad, oft-unrequited lyrics more accessible with power-pop riffs, well-designed singles, and Patrick Stump's underrated vocal chops. Fall Out Boy pivoted to more of an arena-rock sound not long after Cork Tree, which looks like an obvious and expected move looking back on 2005's finest here in 2019. This week on The Girlfriend Doctor Show, Dr. Anna talks about negative feelings during the holidays, and the emotions that can come with them.  From anxiety and depression to PTSD, the holiday season isn't always joyful for everyone.  Whether it be through the loss of a loved one, a disorder out of your control, or a rainy cloud over your head, if you are struggling, it's ok to not be ok. On this episode Dr. Anna does a deep emotional dive with The Therapy Twins, Jane Buckley and Joan Landino, to speak about their own emotions and struggles.  Without dealing with these negative emotions or trying to cover them up, they can manifest themselves as harmful side effects to every day life such as anxiety, depression, or even disease. Jane and Joan are identical twins who, like most of us, have had hardships in their lives that have manifested into negative traits.  At one point even distancing them from their own family during the holidays, Jane and Joan give us a look into the world of therapy that can help you shake out some of the holiday blues.  Through compassion, humility, and self-awareness, the twins are authors of "From Under the Hood: Therapy Twins’ Guide to a Smoother Ride", a cliff notes guide of tips to help uncover a lifetime worth of trauma, drama, laughter and healing. Anxiety & Depression Over the Holidays

Through compassion, humility, and self-awareness, the twins are authors of "From Under the Hood: Therapy Twins' Guide to a Smoother Ride", a cliff notes guide of tips to help uncover a lifetime worth of trauma, drama, laughter and healing. He is also the Founder and Broker of Realty Group, a full-service real estate brokerage. As one of the fastest-growing real estate companies, Realty Group attracts, promotes, develops, and supports professional real estate agents and brokers.  What You Will Learn: Long’s journey from Vietnam to America on a dangerous fishing boat at age 13 The “victim vs. victor” mentality that Long learned and what led him to discover it The formula Long uses to maximize chances of success Why and how Long got into real estate in the midst of the recession Different kinds of success styles and the mindset Long encourages to help you win more Use of systems and structures to make you the most efficient with your time The “deep” versus “wide” strategy of Long’s company and how he helps other business owners Resources from Long Doan: Website: https://realtygroupmn.com/ Email: long.doan@realtygroupmn.com Phone: 612-719-3731 From Under a Boat to On Top of The Industry Long Doan is a highly successful real estate broker with over 25 years of experience. He is also the founder of Realty Group, the fastest-growing real estate brokerage in Minnesota. By most accounts, he is living the dream. But it wasn’t always this way. Long’s story begins at eight years old when he saw his father taken away to a political prison in their home country of Vietnam. He didn’t see his father again until he was 32 years old. At 13, Long began the long and treacherous journey across the ocean to America.  Long was smuggled out of Vietnam, with a boatload of others, crammed under the deck of a fishing boat with no bathrooms in sight. After 2 unsuccessful attempts, Long was able to get out of the refugee camp known as “Hell Island” and get to the United States, where he found solace in the home of his aunt and uncle. He credits his perseverance to adopting a “victor” mindset, recognizing that despite the obstacles, he had the grit to make it through and was finally being rewarded. Long reminds us all of how to control our own destinies and how important it is to surround ourselves with people who can be there for us during hardship. Realty Groups Long and his partner started their real estate brokerage, Realty Group, in the hopes of helping people, giving back, and being the kind of brokerage they wished they’d had when starting out. Each broker is treated like the CEO of their own company using Realty Group’s “plug and play” partnership model. Realty Group provides coaching and mentorship to its brokers to address problems and help them to achieve a consistent income. They help their agents turn real estate into a career, rather than just a job.  Long emphasizes how important it is to recognize your success style and play to your strengths. Some with the success style of “the hunter” might be exceptional at cold calling, while others might be bad at cold calling but good at cultivating existing relationships. Long recommends systematizing as many things as possible to increase time efficiency, as time is a finite resource that we all have the same amount of. On top of all this, Long stresses his “win or learn” mentality. We will all encounter failures; the important part is using them to learn, grow, and increase your chances of success next time. Thanks to his winning mindset and tactics, Long and his team have turned Realty Group into the fastest-growing brokerage in Minnesota, with plans to expand around the Midwest and eventually nationally. The company’s strategy of going deep in Minnesota versus going wide across several states has helped establish Realty Group’s reputation and client base. The brokerage will continue to grow in leaps and bounds, and I’m certain that Long’s wisdom will help you and your businesses do the same.

Dr. Fleming explains the theme of the series, invoking the example of Russian dissidents who were not content to criticize specific policies of the USSR but zeroed in on the flawed principles on which the regime rested. The USA, which began as a constitutional republic, has tended more and more to accept the principles of the French Revolution. Even conservatives accept leftwing theories of equality and human rights as the cornerstone of their ideology. To resist the radicalization of America, we must debunk the false principles that justify the destruction of authentic American liberties. The attack on Southern symbols has nothing to do with opposing slavery or helping black Americans. It is an attempt to eliminate an important cultural and political tradition that goes back to Washington, Jefferson, and Madison. Such campaigns to eliminate historic identities are defined--and condemned--in international law as "cultural genocide." Cultural genocide is not a technique used by free republics but by totalitarian ideological states. Even northerners who have little interest in the South should begin to understand that this attack on the South and its flag-bearing cross will inevitably be followed by overt attacks on Christianity and on America itself. Two political gaffes—one by Donald Trump and one by Hillary Clinton—injected pre-partum infanticide, known euphemistically as abortion, into the current presidential campaign.
