•Rev. Charles H. Nicks Jr. born in 1941 Lincoln, Nebraska.  Long before anyone even knew Charles Nicks, he was discovered by his family around the age of 2 years old. The family discovered it was young Charles who had gotten to the piano and played the song note for note his grandmother had previously played.  His family had a strong musical influence on him during his formative years.  At the ager of 16 he became the minister of music at his father's church.•Rev. Nicks accepted the call to ministry in the 1970's and once ordained he was appointed the Pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Detroit Michigan.  Under Rev. Nicks' leadership he grew the church membership, started several auxiliaries, formed several youth ministries, a scholarship fund to help youth of the church.  Not only was he an accomplished musician, organist, mentor he had a great personality which drew people from near and far.•Rev. Nicks was a co founder along with Rev. James Cleveland of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMAC).  •Rev. On January 9th 2024, Brain Sizemore lost his son Lucas to suicide. Lucas had graduated the academy that May and was an officer with the City of Atlanta Police Department. Since his son's passing Brian has been on a mission to bring this tough conversation of suicide in law enforcement  to the public. For every officer that dies at the hands of a suspect, 2-3 take their own lives. Brain and I are joined on this episode by Jared Murphey, the Acting SAC of Homeland Security for Detroit Michigan. Dr. Mastay is board certified in both forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Wound Management. Join us, as he discusses how curve balls and mentorship helped shape his introduction to podiatry. He discusses the importance of showing up with excellence and focusing on fostering relationships. He describes how leaning into the work that brings us the most satisfaction is the key to success and how working in multidisciplinary teams, and the strengths that each physician can bring to help improve patient outcomes where pivotal for him.
