When we talk about the Last Days, we understandably focus on the political, military, geographical & spiritual events. But we don't say much about the psychological changes in the way people think and act, making it, as Paul put it, “a terrible time.”

Idol #40 - This is the BIGGEST idol of all in the Body of Christ having to do with leadership. Lord forgive us for making our own ministries and businesses an idol before you. We will spend so much time babying this seed and cultivating the seed that we leave out the Great Gardener. We leave you out because we're so FOCUSED on the mission. We do not spend time with you like you want thus we havecreated an idol and put it before you. Forgive us. Lord, we also put our visions that YOU have given us above our families as well. Please forgive us for abandoning and neglecting the family unit; which is the very thing that you have given us and the reason you created humanity. Forgive us for divorcing our spouses and continuing in ministry without slowing down or sitting down to consider the heart of God. God forgive us for moving FORWARD so quickly and leaving behind without seeking reconciliation, etc., especially when children are involved. Forgive our society for providing platforms and avenues for those that are freshly divorced so that they may consider what is taking place. Forgive us for putting ministry above YOU and the family unit. Today, on this 40th day, the LAST DAY, we lay DOWN our visions before the throne. Our businesses, ministries, organizations, groups, etc.; we lay it all down. We give them back to You instead of holding on to them so tight. Forgive us God for having our priorities in the wrong place. #40daysrepent  — at We Are The Bride.

02.08-18 - Idol #39 - Lord forgive us for having an idol of perfection. We have a picture in our mind what normal looks like and it can be an idol as well! We judge people with disabilities because they don't fit into our perfect world. We see them as less than perfect in our eyes because of what Hollywood and the Spirit of this World puts out there as perfect. We judge what GOD created as less than perfect because of our mind's eye/image of perfection. When we form this idol of perfection in our minds, then noone can meet up to your expectations of beauty and perfectness. We then judge God on not creating perfectly. We judge His creation as failures and lacking the blessings of God because they don't fit our perfect idol impression in our minds (the idol). We must tear this impression and idol down in our minds and begin to see ALL of humans as beauty before the Lord. In the church world we are really bad at seeing someone with a "challenge" and causing them to feel "less-than" because they either don't have enough faith, their parents did something wrong, etc. Instead of us appreciating the DIVERSITY in this person's challenges, we push them away because they are different. God doesn't create anything by accident. In the church world we must cast this idol of perfection down and realize that God is diverse. He wants us to love ALL people even with their challenges. #40daysrepent  — feeling repentful at We Are The Bride.

Idol #38 - Lord we repent for putting buildings, houses and location above you. We will make this an idol because we refuse to give it up, share it with you, or use it to help the poor and our communities. Sometimes we will think so highly of ourselves that we will not allow the poor in. We will not use the beauty and blessing you gave us to help others. We will hoard it all to ourselves saying IT'S MINE, MINE, AND ALL MINE! Like you showed us in your word yesterday in Luke 12. That attitude makes you furious. God help us to not to be stingy with our blessings but use it to bless others. Lord helping the demonically oppressed and possessed people is messy and sometimes we do not want to bring that in our buildings. We think so highly of our buildings that we cannot "risk" bringing that in. Lord, forgive us for this mentality. Forgive us for having such abundance and when calamity hits, we cannot even use that to help dying people. Forgive us for this Lord. Lord forgive us for putting our homes above family and You. We think so highly of our worldly possessions that we push family away and others because we are always "improving it" and do not make time for what really matters which is church, God and family. We can become so obsessed with looking better than the Jones' that we neglect all the important things. Forgive us of this Lord. Forgive us for putting material things above what really matters. #40daysrepent  — feeling repentful at We Are The Bride.

Idol #37 - Lord we repent for putting our careers over our families and most of all, over you. If you have asked us to give up our careers to follow you and we do NOT, then it is an IDOL to us. Lord forgive us for disobedience. Sometimes we will put our career above our family and work too much and neglect our families. It has harmed many families when people work themselves to death and never enjoy the families that God has given them. God wants the families to be whole. Some people put their whole identities in the career. They like being known as lawyer, doctor, professor etc. however, if they were to lose that career, then they have no identity. Let our identity be in Christ. Not our career. Sometimes we pour ourselves into our careers to avoid family responsibilities or other obligations in our lives. Sometimes we work for more money and it's a continual death trap. I want more material things so I'll work to death and neglect the very things that means the most to have "nice things" versus giving up the extra money to spend TIME with our families. God knows the matter of the hearts and Lord we ask that you examine our motives. On their deathbeds people are not asking for MORE CAREER OR MONEY. They're asking for God and family. Help us Lord to get our priorities in order. Heal the Body of Christ so that they will OBEY YOU above all things! To OBEY is better than SACRIFICE! #40daysrepent — feeling repentful at We Are The Bride.

Idol #36 - Today we repent for the SPIRIT of POLITICALLY CORRECT. This is a virus running through not only the Body of Christ, but through the nation. It is a TWISTING of the truth. It is a watering down and non-offensive. The word is offensive. The word divides. It's meant to divide. The truth splits, it cuts, it is a sword. The Bible is a sword. This means that it cuts through the lies and presents TRUTH. When we tolerate, inclusive, and water down the gospel, it makes it of none affect. So, God, please forgive us for watering down the truth. Forgive us for people-pleasing, culture-pleasing, and tolerating in order to make people's flesh feel good. Help us Lord in all ministers in this country to speak the truth. Forgive us for complacency and compromising with sin for ANY other motive. This is how the Ecumenical Movement and Emergent Church is making such headway, because we have compromised to death.
